Kinda dark, isn't it? But let's get the red light up starting with.....

The Double Toasted opening toss up story.

Following a controversy where host Chris Harrison admitted to “perpetuating racism,” The Bachelor host has decided to step aside from the franchise “for a period of time.”

In an Instagram post published Saturday, Harrison wrote, “The historic season of The Bachelor should not be marred or overshadowed by my mistakes or diminished by my actions. To that end, I have consulted with Warner Bros. and ABC and will be stepping aside for a period of time and will not join for the After the Final Rose special… I am dedicated to getting educated on a more profound and productive level than ever before.”

During a recent Extra interview hosted by Rachel Lindsay, the franchise’s first Black Bachelorette, Harrison and Lindsay discussed photos of Season 25 contestant Rachael Kirkconnell — currently vying for the heart of Matt James, the franchise’s first Black Bachelor — attending an Antebellum party three years ago. She has since taken the photos off of social media and disabled the comments option. Because of the painful and racist history the pre-Civil War Antebellum South and slavery triggers, many have shunned romanticizing the era and its images. (Kirkconnell has since apologized.)

Instead of commenting about the problematic nature that Kirkconnell’s past racial insensitivities create, Harrison defended her reputation and lambasted what he called “cancel culture.”

“This ‘judge, jury, executioner’ thing where people are just tearing this girl’s life apart and diving into her parents’ voting record … it’s unbelievably alarming to watch this,” a visibly frustrated Harrison told Lindsay. “You know, I saw a picture of her at a sorority show five years ago, and that’s it.”

In wake of the backlash, Harrison apologized on Twitter Wednesday writing, “I took a stance on topics about which I should have been better informed. What I now realize I have done is cause harm by wrongly speaking in a manner that perpetuates racism, and for that I am so deeply sorry. I also apologize to my friend Rachael Lindsay for not listening to her better on a topic she has a first-hand understanding of, and humbly thank the members of Bachelor Nation who have reached out to me to hold me accountable. I promise to do better.”

Rachel Lindsay commended “Bachelor” host Chris Harrison Monday for temporarily stepping away from “The Bachelor” franchise following his defense of a current contestant in a way that “perpetuates racism” during an interview with Lindsay. However, the first black star of the “Bachelorette” isn’t sure if Harrison’s steps to make amends mean he should remain host of the ABC reality dating franchise.

“I think you have to see what happens,” Lindsay told her “Extra” colleague Billy Bush in an interview Monday. “I think I don’t want to play into things too quick to judge someone, right? Am I disappointed? Absolutely. Do I agree with what happened in that interview? No. But at the same time, he has taken the steps to not issue one, but two apologies. Let’s see what happens from there. Now I will say this, to see the contestants come together and speak out and to say what they don’t stand for, I don’t know how we continue in this way. How do you when people in Bachelor Nation are upset, the contestants of this very show, the leads of this show? How does he go on to represent the franchise when people are so upset by what they saw in that interview that we have?”

So how did this happen. Let's investigate.

Bachelor” Season 25 contestant Rachael Kirkconnell apologized Thursday for her past “offensive and racist” behavior, following backlash over her “liking” Confederate flag-related TikTok videos and criticism of a resurfaced photo that appears to show her attending a plantation-themed fraternity formal in 2018.

“At one point, I didn’t recognize how offensive and racist my actions were, but that doesn’t excuse them,” Kirkconnell, a frontrunner on first-ever Black “Bachelor” Matt James’ currently airing season, wrote in a statement posted to Instagram. “My age or when it happened does not excuse anything. They are not acceptable or okay in any sense. I was ignorant, but my ignorance was racist. I am sorry to the communities and individuals that my actions harmed and offended. I am ashamed about my lack of education, but it is no one’s responsibility to educate me.”

Kirkconnell said that she deserves “to be held accountable” for her actions.

“I will never grow unless I recognize what I have done is wrong,” the “Bachelor” contestant wrote. “I don’t think one apology means that I deserve your forgiveness, but rather I hope I can earn your forgiveness through my future actions.”

Kirkconnell’s apology for her previous actions came after “Bachelor” host Chris Harrison defended her earlier this week — and then apologized for doing so in a way that “perpetuates racism.”

If that keeps up, there may be a replacement host but we'll pass it along to you when it comes up.

What an amazing February. But let's see who's sunny & mild and who's way too cold and snowy with Elsa walking all over your front lawn. It's the Yay & Yawn of February.

The Yay: Chain Reaction. The new version of an old favorite brought back Dylan Lane from the 2006 version to do it and is one of only 4 shows on GSN to have hits on the channel. Game Show Network has finally woken up.

The Yawn: Cherries Wild. Pepsi took the Joker's Wild added in with what the Wall does and turns it into a disaster. Why is Fox learning something Barry & Enright made when the premiere was supposed to be delayed 2 weeks ago due to a very long Daytona 500?

Last week's big winter event allowed all of us to listen to podcasts. This is a segue into this segment we call....................

Your recommendation for today is..............

If Alexa, Siri and Google Assistant had a podcast on their own, there's one that might join the fray. Kinda. A narrative comedy, this podcast was created by Jackbox writer Liz Anderson and pairs up with special guests to give you guided meditations and musings from a ficticious assistant but to make you laugh too. Guests on the podcast include Sarah Shockey (Marty & Sarah Love Wrestling), Janet Varney (Dinner & A Movie), Surena Marie (D.O.D.E from Push The Button, Critical Role), Fliup Molina and of course, Hal Lublin (Swagbucks Live producer and off screen host).  Some episodes have the Jackbox writers get involved. That's because they also star in a weekly livestream where Liz is also in it too. If you need an escape from housework, working at the office or want a study break, this is the podcast for you. Follow it on Twitter:

Then look for it on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or any other podcast service.

There's a new host on Countdown replacing Nick Hewer. Who is it? Myleene Klass? Mel Giedroyc? Stephen Fry? No. It's...........

Anne Robinson has said she is excited to work with the "formidable women" of Countdown after being announced as the show's first ever female host.

Best known for presenting game show The Weakest Link in both the UK and the US, Robinson is now set to join mathematician Rachel Riley and lexicographer Susie Dent on the Channel 4 daytime series.

The 76-year-old will replace Nick Hewer, who announced in 2020 that he would be stepping down after almost 10 years in charge.

Robinson says she is a fan of the words, but the numbers not so much "I am beyond thrilled to be joining Countdown," Robinson said in a statement sent to Sky News. "The show is almost as old as I am and just as historic.

"I am particularly excited to be working alongside the show's two other formidable women.

"Worryingly, Susie and Rachel are not only very smart but younger, prettier and thinner than me. Sadly, there's no time for another facelift so I'll have make do with this old one.

"Three Clever Girls Do Countdown! Don't you love the sound of that?"

In her statement, Robinson added that she is a "crossword nut" so will be able to "make sense" of the show's conundrums. "But the adding up and taking away - I can't go much further than working out the fee once my agent takes his cut," she joked.

Countdown was the first TV show to be broadcast on Channel 4 and has been on air since its launch in November 1982, making it one of the longest-running quiz shows in the world.

Robinson has appeared on the show before, as a guest in Dictionary Corner for a week in 1987, when the show was hosted by original presenter, the late Richard Whiteley. She said: "I was so in awe of the great Richard Whiteley. I think I only said 'Good afternoon' and 'Goodbye'. Who thought I'd have the chance to follow in his giant footsteps?

Remember Trivia Trap, the game show with a cool theme and a format somewhat disliked by viewers? Well........

Anita Rani will host a brand new game show called The Answer Trap on Channel 4.

The series, which will air as part of the day time schedule, sees two teams play against each other to secure as much prize money as they can.

Channel 4 explains: "Host Anita Rani will challenge the teams to place answers from a series of lists into their relevant categories. However not all the answers belong in the categories, some are devilish decoys - Answer Traps.

"The Answer Traps have been set by iconic quizzers Bobby Seagull and Frank Paul, with the brainiacs competing to see who can catch the most players in their traps.

"If the teams can assign the answers to the correct categories and avoid the traps, they get the opportunity to play for a £10,000 jackpot on the final question."

Anita said: “For as long as I can remember I have loved all the classic C4 daytime quizzes, I am actually quite obsessed with them! To be the host of their latest format is a dream come true and I cannot wait to welcome you all to The Answer Trap.”

It looks like the party's over for SYTYCD......or is it?

So You Think You Can Dance has been one of the many shows affected by the coronavirus pandemic, with its summer 2020 season canceled just weeks before it was set to begin.

While the Fox show was expected to return in summer 2021, a new report has it that the show is still on hiatus, putting its future in jeopardy.

In June 2020, Fox released a statement reading: "Production on Season 17 of SYTYCD will not be moving forward due to health and governmental restrictions in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, while we were looking forward to its return this summer, we cannot meet the standards we've set for viewers and contestants in light of the show's unique format, intricate production schedule, and limited time."

Though the show was canceled for summer 2020, shows like Dancing With the Stars were able to go ahead in 2020, and Fox did manage to put out another dancing show, Masked Singer spin-off The Masked Dancer, leading to some hope that the show could return. However, per TVLine, the show's producers 19 Entertainment and Dick Clark Productions are "not moving forward" with Season 17 at the present time. Newsweek has independently verified that claim.

The Cat Deeley-hosted show, however, has not been completely canceled, with the site reporting that the show could return at some point.

ABC is reviving “The Dating Game” with a new celebrity twist and Zooey Deschanel and Michael Bolton at the helm, the network announced Thursday.

“The Celebrity Dating Game” has been picked up for eight one-hour episodes at the network, and is described as a “wry wink at modern dating with a star-studded roster of celebrity singles in their pursuit to find love.”

The new show will flip the format of the original 1960s series hosted by Jim Lange. Rather than having one contestant question three hidden suitors, the three suitors will be visible to the audience throughout the episode, and the identity of the celebrity they are attempting to woo will remain concealed until the end of the hour.

Per ABC, “suitors will have the opportunity to guess the secret identity based on clues, questions and special parody performances by host Michael Bolton.”

“The Celebrity Dating Game” is produced by Sony Pictures Television. Charles Wachter, Michael Bolton, Christina Kline and Wendi Wan serve as executive producers. No premiere date for the show has been scheduled.

The original “Dating Game,” created by “The Newlywed Game” executive producer Chuck Barris and hosted by Jim Lange, ran on ABC between 1965 and 1973 before going for one additional season in syndication. Though the show primarily featured everyday Americans, a number of celebrities appeared as special guest stars during the initial run, including Michael Jackson, Ron Howard and Sally Field. Reboots over the years have been hosted by Elaine Joyce, Jeff MacGregor, Brad Sherwood, and Chuck Woolery.

Time for a Mistplay Game Break. Of the 12 months in a year, what is the most popular month for weddings?

Think about that after a Pandora song break as Rachael Texiera saves the best and not the worst....for last. And I mean it.

So cool. Thank you Rachael for taking time to volunteer for us today. But we were waiting on the answer. If you said February........

Love stinks, but it's not for weddings, because.......October is the one.

October has been the most popular wedding month for the past few years. In fact, three of the most popular wedding dates in 2019 took place in October (the 7th, the 14th, and the 21st).

One thing I miss most when I lived in Grimsborough is going down to Alan Trammell Stadium to watch Rocket League matches, but i caught the late feed from the satellite and following covid restrictions, the arena was empty. Like the NFL and NBA. Being the only sports bubble in town, Jessica Davis finally took a Kitzrow award for best sportscasting. What took her so long? Anyway, she and longtime RL player WatchmeNaeNae decided to play color commentator. Here's what happened.

It's nice to have Rocket League back in Grimsborough for waaaaaaaaaay too long. What did they before during the hiatus, monster truck rallies?

Awashed on the shore of the banks of the Be More Specific Ocean lied an array of treasure chests the pirates forgot. Game Show Live! is bringing you a special exclusive at shows that have never seen the light of day. prepare yourself for a month of........................

Buried Treasure.

Ahoy, we found a discovery.

We were all thinking of the longtime UK staple with Paul Daniels hosting or the 1985 short lived program that launched Bill Rafferty into hosting greatness. Not quite. Here, Mark L. Walberg  asked a series of questions for a random amount of time (ranging from 45 to 60 seconds) only seen by the home audience, as everyone in the studio couldn't see the clock. On a player's turn, an incorrect answer kept control, but a correct answer passed control to the next player. When the time was up, the player in control was eliminated from the game and received a Croton watch. The last player standing went on to play for $1,000,000.

And yes, Croton was the Turtle Wax of the 2000s from Lingo to Merv Griffin's Crosswords. Do they still exist? Anyways, Walberg and the winning contestant entered a booth, where s/he had three attempts to make every second count for $1,000,000.

To begin, backstage, the contestant's supporters would select one of five time cards ranging from 30 to 50 seconds in 5-second increments. Next, the contestant was shown six possible answers for all the questions to be asked (generally forming a common bond). Finally, after the first question was asked, the hidden clock would start.

The object of the game was to answer enough questions correctly to win the $1,000,000. Each correct answer moved one step up the money ladder, while each incorrect answer moved one step down. Even more bad news comes.

If the contestant ran out of time, s/he lost the money, so to prevent this from happening, if the contestant feared that s/he wasn't going to make it to the top and run out of time, s/he had to press the blue stopper button next to him/her. Pressing it allowed the contestant to bail out and keep whatever s/he won up to that point in that attempt.

After each of the first two attempts s/he could give back the money, and try again one step higher on the money ladder than the previous attempt (this meant starting at $750 after bailing out once, and $1,000 after bailing out twice). If time ran out on either of the first two attempts, the contestant would have the same starting point as the previous attempt for the next one.

For each new attempt, the supporters would have one fewer time card to choose from, making the situation better or worse. This was the element DOND put in to help someone win the big money as did Press Your Luck most recently.

For the first game, there was a random contestant backstage dubbed "The 10 Percenter" (supposedly the winner of an interactive game). This meant that whatever the main contestant won, he/she would receive an additional 10% of those winnings (up to $100,000).

This was all produced by the same guys that tried with Slingo but both got snakebit before picking it up. Now if it went the way of the UK version that became a hit show...................
