The waiting game is over: After an unprecedented three-month coronavirus-imposed hiatus, Jeopardy! will be back on the air with fresh episodes beginning Monday, Sept. 14.
"I feel good, and I feel excited because once again Jeopardy! has demonstrated that it's at the forefront of television programming," host Alex Trebek said in a statement. "I believe we are the first quiz show to come back on the air in the COVID-19 era. On a personal level, I'm excited because it gets me out of the house. It gives me something to do on a regular basis, and I was missing that."
Newly-minted Jeopardy! G.O.A.T. contestant Ken Jennings, meanwhile, is joining the show as a consulting producer. In his new role, Jennings will present his own special video categories, develop projects, assist with contestant outreach, and serve as a general ambassador for the show. Viewers can see the first of his video categories in the second episode of the season, airing Sept. 15.
Jeopardy! — which ran out of original episodes in early June — resumed production in late July, albeit with a slightly altered set designed to keep contestants and crew safe in light of the coronavirus pandemic. Specifically, producers added additional space between the contestants' podiums (and between the contestants and Trebek).
Jeopardy's return comes nearly two years into Trebek's battle with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. The TV icon recently shared that an experimental immunotherapy treatment has been "paying off," adding, ""My doctor has told me that he is counting on me celebrating two years of survivorship past the diagnosis of Stage 4 pancreatic cancer, and that two years happens in February. So I expect to be around — because he said I will be around — and I expect to be hosting the show if I am around." .
Also.....they unveiled a newer set......
This marks the first time since the Fleming Era that the podiums were seperate. We hops it's going to be a good season.

Coronavirus can't keep a drag queen down: The full "RuPaul's Drag Race" TV franchise is currently in production in Los Angeles, Variety reports.
The Emmy-winning flagship series wrapped its 13th season last week, and production is already underway on one of the franchise's spin-off titles.
The "Drag Race" franchise usually shoots in the summer and fall for premiere dates in the first half of the following year, but the COVID-19 pandemic has raised obvious questions about how any production involving regular interpersonal interaction could operate safely.
To that end, World of Wonder, the company that produces "Drag Race" for VH1, approved back-to-work plans with all the appropriate unions, according to a source with knowledge of the production. And the show's producers are following local, state and federal COVID-19 health and safety requirements.
All crew members are wearing masks. On-camera talent and any crew members interacting with talent are getting tested for COVID-19 three times per week. All other crew members are getting tested once a week.
In some ways, "Drag Race" was already set up to operate during a pandemic. The drag queens who compete on the show historically have been sequestered for the duration of their time on the series, and one of the bigger sticking points for COVID-safe production, hair and makeup application, is a non-issue, since the competing queens all do it themselves.
It's unclear whether guest judges will still appear for Season 13. But the production has altered the main stage set in order to incorporate concerns over social distancing, expanding the judges' table and placing glass panels between each judge.

CBS announced today it has ordered COME DANCE WITH ME (working title), a family dance competition series executive produced by NCIS: LOS ANGELES stars LL COOL J and Chris O'Donnell and produced by CBS Television Studios and 3 Ball Productions.
In the series, exceptionally talented young dancers from across the country will invite one inspirational, and untrained, family member or other adult who has supported their dance dreams, to become their dance partner for a chance to strut their stuff for a grand prize.
Each week, these aspiring kids will share their love of dance with their mother, father, grandparent or other hero on an uplifting and emotional journey to learn and perform challenging routines, with the assistance of professional choreographers, in a competition with other duos.
"We believe this concept is fun for the whole family, especially given the number of children we both have," said executive producers LL COOL J and Chris O'Donnell. "We reminisced about our kids' dance lessons and how it would look if they had to teach us how to dance. What we noticed was, aside from the two-left-feet element, like most parents, no one wants to let their kids down. The show is about being creative, having a good time and bringing families together through dance. It's a fun show with a big heart!"
"It's inspiring to see the positive connection that exists between adults and children play out through dance," added 3 Ball executive producer Reinout Oerlemans. "Shepherding this show has been a labor of love, and the fact that it comes to CBS at a time when families are hungry for fun, uplifting entertainment is especially gratifying."
COME DANCE WITH ME (working title) is produced by CBS Television Studios and 3 Ball Productions. In addition to LL COOL J and Chris O'Donnell, executive producers for 3 Ball are Reinout Oerlemans, Ross Weintraub and Jeff Altrock. .

On Tuesday, Netflix dropped the new trailer for its upcoming competitive karaoke show Sing On!, hosted by Tituss Burgess (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt).
The eight-episode series sees six contestants grab the mic and belt out the biggest bops in a particular genre (each episode has its own theme). They are then judged by vocal analyzer comparing their performances to that of the original artist and the more they sing in tune, the more cash they add to a collective jackpot.
It's not as straightforward as it sounds, as lyrics are randomly assigned to the contestants, keeping them on their toes at all times. And it's not like the producers pick easy songs for the singers to tackle — the trailer sees them take on Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" among others. In each round, the highest scoring contestant moves on, while the remaining singers vote one fellow contestant out. Over the course of five more rounds, the stakes get higher as the jackpot grows, and finally the last two remaining contestants face off in a head-to-head battle to win the grand prize — and major bragging rights at their next office karaoke night.
Tune in and sing along from your couch when Sing On! premieres Sept. 16 on Netflix..
