The Yay: Some of the daytime TV favorites. With the pandemic still ongoing, Wheel, J! and Family Feud decided to let cameras roll, but with a more safer stipulation.

The Yawn: Taskmaster. Watched by more people in the Uk, but on the CW..............not a whole lot. Out in 1.

Pretty soon, this.......will be the next season of American Idol.

The iconic star-maker competition series "American Idol" welcomes back music industry legends, judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, and veteran host Ryan Seacrest to help find America's next singing sensation for a fourth season on ABC.

Last season, "American Idol" became the first reality competition series to air remotely and the unprecedented season dominated Sunday nights, claiming the No. 1 position for broadcast series among Adults 18-49 as well as the night's No. 1 most social show.

"'American Idol' has always been able to bring people together, entertain and inspire - and I am so proud of how this show continued to deliver joy and laughter into people's homes during a time when we needed it the most," said Karey Burke, president, ABC Entertainment. "There is no one who we feel more confident about leading us into a new season of high notes than Luke, Katy, Lionel and the incomparable Ryan Seacrest."

"Katy, Lionel and Luke are fun, astute and really know how to spot talent," said executive producer and showrunner Trish Kinane. "Their chemistry is undeniable, and we are delighted that they, along with host Ryan Seacrest, are returning to find the next superstar and take 'American Idol' to new heights next season."

"We are so grateful to the fans for sticking with us - and pushing us to No. 1 - during this most challenging of times. And we are thrilled to be able to welcome Ryan, Katy, Lionel and Luke back to help us discover our next American Idol," said executive producer Eli Holzman, CEO of 19 Entertainment's parent company Industrial Media. "At times like these, it is more important than ever to give families wholesome entertainment, packed full of hope, talent and inspiration - where dreams come true. And that is what 'American Idol' is all about."

The search for the next singing sensation is currently underway with "Idol Across America" remote virtual auditions taking place across all 50 states. "Idol Across America" will give hopefuls the chance to showcase their talents from anywhere in America, across any official audition date and face-to-face with an "American Idol" producer, staying true to its roots by providing aspiring Idols real-time feedback on their journey to being crowned the next American Idol.

To sign up for "Idol Across America" and a chance to virtually audition in front of an "American Idol" producer, please visit www.americanidol.com/auditions, where more details on specific dates, full eligibility requirements, submission forms, and terms and conditions can be found. Entrants must be at least 15 years old to audition and may do so on any "Idol Across America" date regardless of your location.

Ready to rock the vote, Masked Singer fans?

Season 4 of the Fox reality series will allow fans to vote from home in order to affect the show's outcome… but that doesn't mean that you'll be able to call a number or pull up an app to decide who's booted from each episode.

The show's Facebook feed recently began reaching out to passionate fans, who were encouraged to register for the chance to "witness all-new performances and vote for your favorites."

TV Line reports that the show is planning to have those fans (aka not everyone who's watching on the night the show airs) be part of a virtual audience that will help determine each week's castoff.

WHat's even more fun than the board game itself? This.

Candy Land is a board game still making an impact on children more than seven decades after its debut, and now it will get its own reality cooking competition.

Variety reported on Thursday that Kristin Chenoweth has signed on for a food competition show based on the Candy Land board game, complete with a royal castle and some unique game-themed twists to the traditional cooking competition.

According to the report, the competition show will feature pastry chefs making wild creations that use the Hasbro game's candy path setup to go through various places to find ingredients. That means viewers are in for a very elaborate set design.

The six-episode series features five groups of cake and sugar artists, who create showpieces in order to get a chance to win a grand prize of $25,000. The players must make their way through "Candy Land," seeking out different flavors and unique ingredients as they try to reach their ultimate destination: King Kandy's Castle.

It sounds a bit like the gimmick from the Netflix cooking competition Crazy Delicious, in which contestants get their ingredients from a Willy Wonka-style set where items grow on trees and everything (that they show you, at least) is edible. And Chenoweth, who has appeared on Food Network for Trisha Yearwood's Trisha's Southern Kitchen," mostly just seems excited about getting out of life in quarantine.

"I'm so excited for the world to see these talented confectionery artists and the incredible set," Chenoweth said in a statement. "And I can't wait to wear a dress again."

Take it to the bridge!

James McAvoy will narrate Channel 4 Entertainment reality competition show The Bridge.

The show will see 12 strangers come together on the banks of a picturesque lake in the British countryside where they will need to work together to build a bridge in 20 days to an island 250 meters away. Each person in the winning team will get a vote for who they think is the most deserving of of the £100,000 prize. The winner is then left to decide whether to keep the money or share it.

Based on a format originally created by Zeppelin, a Banijay Iberia company, the five-part show is being made by Manchester-based Workerbee and filmed regionally. It is due to air later this year and was filmed following strict COVID-19 production guidelines.

Phil Harris, Head of Entertainment at Channel 4 said, "This is such an exciting first reality commission for me and the Channel 4 entertainment department. The brilliant Workerbee have conjured up the entertaining twists, comedy and drama viewers associate with classic channel 4 reality, against what might be considered a traditionally more factual backdrop."

The Bridge made its international debut in Spain in 2017 and aired for two series on Movistar+'s #0 where it is known locally as El Puente. The format also sold to France with M6.

Meanwhile in the southern hemisphere.......

The Masked Singer has suspended filming in Australia and the entire production team has gone into isolation after a coronavirus outbreak on the Network 10 entertainment show.

In a statement on Facebook, the Warner Bros International Television Australia-produced show said the shoot had been halted with immediate effect, and host and panelists, including former The X Factor judge Dannii Minogue, are sheltering in place.

"Production of The Masked Singer has been immediately suspended as a result of several crew members receiving a positive test result for COVID-19. The health and safety of the community, and our staff and production partners is our number one priority," the show said. "The entire production team, including the masked singers, the host and panellists are now in self-isolation. They are all being monitored closely and are in constant contact with medical authorities."

According to Australian newspaper the Sunday Herald Sun, a dancer arrived on set on Friday feeling unwell. Others in close proximity to the individual tested positive for Covid-19. Previously recorded episodes of The Masked Singer will continue broadcasting on Network 10.

The outbreak is not welcome news for The Masked Singer in the U.S., which resumed production for Fox on Friday. The UK version is also poised to restart filming next month.

Meanwhile, Channel 9 quiz show Millionaire Hot Seat was due to begin filming new episodes from today, but production has now been suspended.

Those staff members are now awaiting their test results, which are likely to be made available today.

Both shows are produced at Melbourne's Docklands and share facilities but are filmed in separate studios. All studios there are now undergoing a deep clean.
