Now, America's favorite contestant, Pierre Kelly!
The Chase is one of the most consistent hits on British broadcaster ITV. The show is now finally coming to broadcast television in the U.S. with ABC remaking it with the stars of Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time. Ken Jennings, James Holzhauer and Brad Rutter are in talks to become "The Chasers" in the unscripted entertainment quiz.
Deadline reports that ABC won the project in a competitive situation and was able to leverage ABC talent to sweeten the deal. The show, which was adapted by Game Show Network (GSN) in 2013, sees contestants competing against a professional quizzer, known as the Chaser, whose aim is to prevent the contestants from winning a cash prize. In the UK version, which has been running since 2009, there are six Chasers including Mark Labbett, who also appeared on the GSN version. It was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in 2014.
The contestants must answer general-knowledge questions in a series of cash-builder and head-to-head rounds before trying to win a cash prize in the final chase.
The series is set to be produced by ITV America label ITV Entertainment.
Jennings, Rutter and Holzhauer were the toast of television earlier this year thanks to primetime ratings hit Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time, which saw them compete in a first-to-three-wins series with a top prize of $1 million. That show was produced by Sony Pictures Television and hosted by Alex Trebek.
ABC's head of alternative Robert Mills told Deadline in January that he was keen to do more with the GOATs and wanted to find "something that taps into what these guys are."
"Whether it's something with Jeopardy! or not, certainly I would argue these three guys are the biggest stars in primetime right now, he said. "But you can't look at this and not acknowledge the impact that they have had over the 20 years and this past week without saying, 'OK. How do we tap into it'."
Details about the show and the casting process are available at TheChaseCasting.com. As always, contestants must meet eligibility requirements.

It all started way back during the quarantine period at The Rock House where we awarded TipsyTune the Twitchhead of the month award. Since then, viewership of his channel and his channel alone have gone way up since the pandemic and that led to segments chronicling his journey to partnership. Just this past week alone, he decided to move his streaming room upstairs like this.....
Dancing With the Stars is looking to waltz into production in September as ABC and BBC Studios work through the health and safety protocols that will allow the competition format to light up the dance floor this year.
The show, which is based on the BBC format Strictly Come Dancing, is entering its 29th season with former America's Next Top Model host Tyra Banks now hosting and exec producing. In recent years, the series has traditionally aired around the middle of September, so the hope is that it won't be too delayed by COVID-19. The show has been lined up for an 8-10 p.m. slot on Monday nights in ABC's fall schedule.
However, sources close to ABC and BBC Studios warn that the schedule is fluid and continuously evolving with nothing set in stone as a result of the ongoing nature of the virus. These sources tell Deadline that they are still figuring out whether the show can go live.
ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke recently told Deadline that BBC Studios, the company that produces the show, had taken lessons from other territories. "I have seen the presentation from the Dancing with the Stars producers on how we are planning to produce this show, post-COVID and with the health regulations in place because they have the advantage of making it in other territories and I am blown away by the ingenuity and the care which they are producing it," she said. "We are bringing all of those innovations to the American broadcast. I'm really confident in their plan."
As for the judges, Carrie Ann Inaba notes that she and fellow original judges Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli will be back for the 29th season this fall.
"As of now, that is the plan," Inaba told her co-hosts in an episode of "The Talk" scheduled to air on Tuesday. "I just want everybody to know Len, Bruno and I — that is the plan that we're coming back. They're going to make the official announcement in a few weeks. They're just going to keep letting us know all the details. I don't want people to worry. It seems like everything is OK."
DWTS is set to return with Season 29 this fall in its traditional Monday perch.

A Mexican version of "The Masked Singer" is coming to Univision this August, the Spanish-language broadcast network announced Friday.
Hosted by Omar Chaparro, "¿Quién es la Máscara?" (The Masked Singer) will "capture the audience's hearts as it introduces 16 celebrities who will have to sing in creative costumes," according to Univision.
"Led by assorted clues, the 'investigators' will seek to guess what celebrity is hiding behind each mask. Among the famous participants there will be singers, actors, TV hosts and others playing the roles of characters, such as: Bumblebee, Eagle, Chameleon, Catrina or Fancy Skeleton, Zebra, Deer, Rabbit, Rooster, Cat, Owl, Martian, Minotaur, Monster, Panda, Fish and Fox."
The panel of investigators for "¿Quién es la Máscara?" includes Yuri, Carlos Rivera, Consuelo Duval and Adrian Uribe, with Kiara Liz set to "present exclusive content" on the show.
According to Univision, "In every episode, there will be duels between two or more contestants. The audience will choose the best performance each week and one celebrity will be at risk of elimination. Ultimately, the panel of 'investigators' will decide who will leave the show and take off the mask." "¿Quién es la Máscara?" first aired last year in Mexico and will premiere Sunday, Aug. 2 at 8/7c on Univision.
The series is based on the original South Korean format "The King of Mask Singer," created by Munhwa Broadcasting Corp. (MBC), which is also the inspiration for the U.S. version that airs on Fox. "¿Quién es la Máscara?" is produced by Televisa and Endemol Shine Boomdog..

Now for some covid-19 while you fim stuff.
A freshly Lysol'd Big Brother house will open its doors to past winners, fan-favorites and "some of the best to never win the game" this August. The long-running summertime hit will kick off its second all-stars edition with the first-ever live move-in event on Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 9/8c.
Following the premiere, episodes will air thrice weekly, on Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (at 8 pm). Houseguests will be officially revealed at a later date, though TMZ reports that "a number of potential contestants arrived Tuesday in Los Angeles." They will enter quarantine and undergo testing for COVID-19, according to the report. Those who test negative will receive entry into the Big Brother house.
For Season 22, CBS has put in place a COVID-19 compliance officer to protect the "welfare of everyone involved" and make sure that the cast and crew adhere to specific health and safety protocols. On screen, the biggest notable difference will be Thursday's live show, which will forgo a studio audience.
Ahead of the premiere, BB22 houseguests will be placed in quarantine and tested several times prior to entering the house. Once inside, they will be tested on a weekly basis and have no contact with any crew members. Staff and crew members will also be tested on a regular basis. Personal protective equipment (i.e. masks) will be required, and the crew will work in pods to ensure social distancing.
TMZ's report also noted that there's "a core list of returning contestants and an alternate list" if any of the All-Star cast members test positive for COVID-19. Not only that, but TMZ provided a list of nine possible contestants for Big Brother All-Stars who are under quarantine. This includes four winners in Josh Martinez (season 19), Nicole Franzel (season 18), Ian Terry (season 14) and Hayden Moss (season 12).
The other five contestants, according to TMZ, are Tyler Crispen (second place in season 20), Bayleigh Dayton (season 20), Big Brother legend and season 7 All-Star contestant Janelle Pierzina, Daniele Donato (second place in season eight, also competed in season 13) and Paulie Calafiore (season 18). Franzel, Donato and Pierzina have all competed in multiple seasons. The former was part of Big Brother 16 (seventh place) and Big Brother 18, defeating Paul Abrahamian by one vote in the finals..

Meanwhile in Sin CIty.......
Another legacy broadcast reality series, ABC's Shark Tank, is heading back to production after a coronavirus-related shutdown.
The popular family-friendly unscripted show, which traditionally shoots on the Sony lot in Culver City, will film its upcoming 12th season in Las Vegas, reports Deadline's Nellie Andreeva.
The show, already in pre-production at an undisclosed location in Vegas, is employing a quarantine bubble, keeping the stars and crew within a single facility with COVID-19 safety protocols, including testing, in place. "I hear a large portion of Shark Tank's LA-based crew members have made the trip to Las Vegas to work on the new episodes, set to begin shooting soon," writes Andreeva.
Shark Tank's regular production schedule lends itself to filming a season over a short period of time while in a quarantine bubble. Because of the Sharks' busy schedules, an entire season of 22 episodes is typically filmed in a pair of two-week "pods," one in June and one in September.
