All Points DO mattter

Me: Hey there people of Earth, welcome again to.........

I'm now in the newsroom of the offices instead of the usual vibrant colorful studio, because this past week had us shocked and apalled to us all.

In Minneapolis, police arrested a man who was trying to buy something with a counterfeit $20 bill and based on the security camera thanks to news sources shown, he wasn't breathing right while resisting arrest and a cop put a knee on him while he said: "I Can't Breathe." Pretty soon afterwards, all 4 officers got fired the next day. That led to plenty of demonstrations and protests all over the country and the world. After all the windows smashed, the looting and endless nighttime news coverage, mayors have decided to stop with the nonsense and impose a curfew for cities nationwide. This is makikng me depressed. I know I wanted to take a week off, but we're here to give you a safer space about game shows and reality TV. When the "poet laureate of television" first became a panelist on game shows, that changed. When CBS back in 1975 broke the mold by hiring a person of color to host a show based on a game played at a children's birthday party, it changed. When one of the longest running game shows in America hired a model of color in 1990, it changed. When a game show that surveyed 100 people hired a comedian of color in 2010 to host it, it changed. When Barry & Enright wanted a show on BET back in the 1980s, it changed. And when season 13 of The Bachelorette arrived with someone with color to do so......it changed. Game Shows have changed. Regardless of color, nationality, looks, genders or boundaries, people come to relieve and see what's new on game shows and reality TV. We're not here to call anybody out, slander names or insult anyone in the process, we're here to give you the positivity you need by always going off the deep end in a family friendly, zero tolerance zone for everyone under the color of your own skin to come week after week to give you the latest on what's happening here. Love knows no boundaries and we'll be there to drive out the hate and out the distractions aside for it. And what better way to get started than with a dance break. Music please, Lizi!

There. I feel so much better. Now let's get going with.........

The Double Toasted opening toss up story.

Meet the 12 TOUGH AS NAILS challengers competing on the new reality series that celebrates everyday Americans who get their hands dirty while working long, hard hours to keep the country running. The cast includes a welder, firefighter, farmer, roofer and a Marine Corps veteran, among others. The series premieres Wednesday, July 8 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Phil Keoghan is the host and executive producer.

These competitors, who get their workout on the job rather than the gym, wear work boots instead of workout shoes and consider the calluses on their hands a badge of honor, will be tested for their strength, endurance, life skills and, most importantly, mental toughness in challenges that take place at real-world job sites. One competitor will be crowned the TOUGH AS NAILS champion, but nobody will go home. Even after they "punch out" of the individual competition, they will have the opportunity to win additional prizes in the team competitions that continue throughout the season.

"I was inspired to create TOUGH AS NAILS almost a decade ago because of my working-class family of farmers, gold miners, builders and coal miners," said host and executive producer Phil Keoghan. "I'm proud of my family and wanted to shine a light on people who are not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty to do a hard day's work. Now, more than ever, it is important for all of us to recognize this country's 'essential workers,' real people in real life who are real tough."

The results of the investigation into workplace practices at America's Got Talent are in.

To quickly recap, NBC announced in December that it had commissioned a third-party investigation in response to ousted panelist Gabrielle Union's claims that America's Got Talent was a hotbed of racial insensitivity and sexism. Union went public with her concerns after news broke that she and Julianne Hough — who'd both joined AGT as judges in Season 14 — would not be returning for the recently launched 15th cycle. Variety reported at the time that the pair had been subject to a "toxic culture" at the show, including excessive notes on their appearance (including a specific critique that Union's hairstyles were "too black"). Union also reportedly clashed with producers about a contestant whose material she found racially insensitive. (Said performer ultimately was allowed to try out, though his audition was later cut from the final broadcast.)

Union, who is severely allergic to cigarette smoke, also claimed she was repeatedly rebuffed when she asked other staff members to request that judge and EP Simon Cowell stop smoking indoors. On Wednesday, NBC, along with series producers FremantleMedia and Syco, put out the following statement based on the findings of the independent investigation, which concluded that "no one associated with the show made any insensitive or derogatory remarks about Ms. Union's appearance, and that neither race nor gender was a contributing factor in the advancement or elimination of contestants at any time." That said, the investigation "highlighted some areas in which reporting processes could be improved."

"We have a shared passion to make America's Got Talent a positive, inclusive and diverse show that is open to all individuals from any country or background. We are proud and grateful that our contestants and audiences support our ongoing mission, which is represented in the incredible people who participate in the show each year. We have heard from contestants and talent alike that their experience on AGT has had a positive impact on their lives. When we heard Ms. Union had concerns about her time on the show, we took them extremely seriously.

"NBC, Fremantle and Syco immediately engaged an outside investigator who conducted more than 30 interviews to review the issues raised by Ms. Union. While the investigation has demonstrated an overall culture of diversity, it has also highlighted some areas in which reporting processes could be improved. Through the investigation process, it has been revealed that no one associated with the show made any insensitive or derogatory remarks about Ms. Union's appearance, and that neither race nor gender was a contributing factor in the advancement or elimination of contestants at any time. The investigation has shown that the concerns raised by Ms. Union had no bearing on the decision not to exercise the option on her contract.

"NBC, Fremantle and Syco share Ms. Union's dedication to diversity and inclusion in the industry. We continue to remain committed to having an inclusive environment for everyone associated with the show, and to upholding AGT as one of the most diverse programs on television."

Next week, every Star Wars fan will wish they were a kid again.

That's because on June 3, Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge will finally be released to the world.

Hosted by Ahmed Best (aka Jar Jar Binks himself), the show is very much like the kids' game shows many of us grew up with: Double Dare, Endurance, Guts, etc. Except this time, it's all Star Wars.

The show was supposed to debut on Disney+ but those plans clearly changed. It actually works out better though, because Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge will instead live on the Star Wars Kids YouTube channel, which is free and available to all. No subscription required.

Wipeout is coming back to TBS. Now it's the UK's turn.

Total Wipeout is reportedly set to return to BBC1 with some famous faces taking the reigns.

Total Wipeout, which was axed back in 2012, used to be a regular on TV screens for its out-there tasks that made the daredevil in all of us crave to appear on the show. And now, to try and raise all of our spirits during the coronavirus-imposed lockdown and get us all in the mood for adventure, the action-packed series is coming back to screens.

However, the show will not be returning with the former hosts Amanda Byram and Richard Hammond, who fronted the original series.

The presenting duo will be replaced by Top Gear hosts former cricket player Freddie Flintoff and gameshow host Paddy McGuinness.

As they host the show, Freddie and Paddy will be displaying some of the most-loved video clips that aired during the three years that the show was running.

Officially named Total Wipeout: Freddie and Paddy Takeover, the show will last for six episodes, and will hopefully hit screens later in the summer.

"Now more than ever we need to laugh at people bouncing off those big red balls," presenter Paddy recently said to The Sun. "I'm so happy to be involved in bringing this classic show back."

Freddie also seemed keen for the show to go ahead, adding "I can't wait to be involved with this brilliant show and to have a laugh watching people fumble with those balls."

Quibi has made its first series-renewal announcement. The weeks-old shortform digital outlet has ordered up a second season of Dishmantled, its Tituss Burgess-hosted cooking-competition show from Chopped creator Linda Lea, Good Egg Entertainment and Propagate-owned Electus.

Each episode of Dishmantled starts with the cannon-blasting of a mystery food dish into the faces of two blindfolded chefs. They use their culinary prowess to identify the exploded dish and then race against the clock to re-create it to pocket a cash prize. A panel of celebrity judges determines the winner.

"The first season of Dishmantled was ludicrous,' Lea said. 'We had so much fun making this crazy show and can't wait to get back in the studio with Tituss for another season. It's going to be a blast."

Drew Buckley serves as exec producer for Electus.

In keeping up with Quibi........

Short-form mobile streamer Quibi has set June premieres for the Blumhouse Television- and The Mighty Networks-produced documentary Ten Weeks and comedy game show Nice One! from Free 90 Media.

Nice One!, hosted by comedian Ron Funches, sees comedians compete to cleverly "out-compliment" one another in a showdown of "sweetness and consideration."

The eight-episode game show is executive produced by Tom Brunelle and Brad Wollack of Free 90 Media, as well as Evi Regev, Melanie Truhett and Funches. It premieres June 8..

Now we're doing something we haven't done since March of this year, it's everybody's favorite segment......

Buzz-GSN where we ask you guys on the Game Show Network Facebook page anything and everything.

https://youtu.be/yj0iG5UN2-E

Let's kick it off with Jamie Keeker.

"I wonder if your programming staff could find some other game shows than non stop Cash Cab and Family Feud. I love this channel but i'm so tired of watching those shows episode after episode. How about some old $10K pyramid, or Newlywed game, or anything to break up the monotony."

How about it GSN? Give it some by midday. But we go next to Janice crain Crawford.

"Actually liked "Best Trivia Show Ever" better than "Master Minds" as there were always different trivia experts day to day, rather than the same 3 all the time which is how Master Minds is doing it (at least most days). Would be much more interesting to watch if there was a shuffling of the trivia experts that were on that previous show. Master Minds has only been on a short time but we have already tired of it for that very reason and will most likely stop watching it."

Maybe they could bring in the experts of BTSE to MM to integrate it with the show. Next.....Deborah West Shaw.

"I enjoy watching reruns of Match Game, but could you show Match Game 73, 75 or anything but the same 74 and 77? You have been showing those two years for the past year! Please change it up."

GSN needs to. Buzzr has it now. Switch to Buzzr, girl! Next is Sherrie Driscoll.

"I sure wish this station would show something in the evenings besides Family Feud!!! So many good games shows but all that's on in the evening when you're looking for something to watch is Family Feud."

Yep. WHat about Idiotest or America Says?  That'll work. Going up now is Robert WInstead.

"Why is PENNSYLVANIA the wrong answer for the trivia question? I have searched various sites and they all say it is misspelled."

Well according to Wiki Bird, There's only one N in the liberty bell. Does it make any mroe sense at all? Next, Linda Keyt.

"Poor Rob Belushi! Can't GSN re-design his stage so he doesn't have to trot between teams? Please give the guy a break!"

Um......Yes, if they need to. Finally, Jack Kraft.

"If Mark Labbett is still doing game shows, it would be interesting to have him on with Ken on Master Minds."

Wouldn't that be interesting?

(song stops)
