Los Angeles County's stay-at-home orders will "with all certainty" be extended for the next three months, county Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer acknowledged during a Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday.
Although county health officer Dr. Muntu Davis has not issued an official extension, Ferrer said that timeline would shorten only if there was a "dramatic change to the virus and tools at hand."
"Our hope is that by using the data, we'd be able to slowly lift restrictions over the next three months," she said. But without widely available testing for the coronavirus or rapid home kits that would allow people to test themselves daily, it seems unlikely that the social distancing directives and stay-at-home orders would be completely eased.
Neither Ferrer nor county health officials were immediately available to directly offer additional details.
However, the county has already started to ease some restrictions and reopen the local economy under a five-step plan.
"Additional restrictions may be lifted later this week to allow for reopening additional retailers for curbside pickup, select manufacturers, and additional recreational facilities," the county said in a statement Tuesday. "Until the final stage five is reached, Health Officer Orders and directives will continue to ensure the slow of spread of COVID-19 to prevent an overwhelming surge of COVID-19 cases at healthcare facilities."
Beaches are set to reopen Wednesday, just days after officials also lifted restrictions on hiking trails, parks and golf courses and allowed curbside pickup at nonessential businesses. Ferrer's comments came shortly before Gov. Gavin Newsom announced that he was modifying the state's stay-at-home orders to allow individual counties to approve the reopening of malls for curbside pickup service only. The order also allows for the reopening of some offices if teleworking is not feasible.
"We aren't out of the woods yet," Newsom reminded residents.

A major bummer for the west coast, but the east coast is getting out early and so does the south. But enought of that, let's head into.....

The Double Toasted opening toss up story.

The outside game we all played in the park just got real.

You can run, but you can't hide from these larger-than-life characters, each with a range of incredible, jaw-dropping athletic skills. Their only job? Catching the competitors.

NBC's hit athletic competition series "The Titan Games" will premiere Monday, May 25 with a 2-hour episode from 8-10 p.m. ET/PT.
Beginning June 1, "The Titan Games" will begin airing in its regularly scheduled 8-9 p.m. timeslot. · Executive produced and hosted by Dwayne Johnson, the series offers everyday people a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete in epic head-to-head challenges designed to test the mind, body and heart.
In the absence of sports, "The Titan Games" will give audiences their much-needed dose of high-level competition. This season includes an incredible group of athletes and everyday heroes with inspirational stories. There are doctors, nurses, veterans and teachers set to compete in the Titan arena, and this season they will also have to beat world-class professional athletes, including Olympic gold medalists, NFL stars and UFC champions, to become Titans.
Two-time Olympic gold-medal winning and current undisputed boxing world champion Claressa Shields, NFL Iron Man Legend and 10x Pro-Bowler Joe Thomas, Super Bowl champion Victor Cruz, Olympic gold-medal winning snowboarder Hannah Teter, professional stunt woman and star "American Ninja Warrior" Jessie Graff, and five-time UFC champion Tyron Woodley have all accepted the challenge to join the competition.
In addition to the new Celebrity Titans, this all new season of "The Titan Games" includes completely new elements to the competition including a brand-new Titan arena, Mount Olympus and never-before-seen challenges alongside returning favorites.
In its first season, "The Titan Games" scored a 1.7 rating in adults 18-49 with 6.0 million viewers overall in "live plus seven day" Nielsens. Its Jan. 3, 2019 premiere has grown to a 3.8 rating in 18-49 and 10.5 million viewers with all digital and linear delayed viewing counted to date. Through the season, "The Titan Games" reached a total of more than 48 million viewers.
Inspired by Johnson's desire to motivate global audiences to achieve their greatness, this unparalleled athletic competition gives men and women across the country the opportunity to step inside the Titan arena and push beyond their limits. Competitors will battle opponents in unforgiving head-to-head challenges, designed by Johnson. Winners will advance to the ultimate challenge of Mt. Olympus, the consummate athletic test of speed, strength, agility and endurance.
"The Titan Games" will not only test the competitors' physical strength, but also their mental and emotional fortitude. In the end, the Titans will return to battle against one another, with one man and one woman emerging as Titan Champion and each winning a grand prize of $100,000. If one of the professional athletes wins, their prize money will go to a charity of their choosing.

Listicle video farm WatchMojo is kicking off the 2020s by launching its second game show, What the List?
What the List?™ drafts off the universal appeal of Top 10 lists by first having contestants answer entertainment questions - where each answer represents an entry in a previously-published WatchMojo list; before the ultimate challenge of contestants having to guess what the list is.
"We didn't invent Top 10 lists. Dave Letterman, Wayne's World and the OG of lists Moses' Ten Commandments have appealed to mankind's interest in lists, but we certainly pioneered a given style and tone for video lists and recognized the promise of YouTube early on," explains WatchMojo founder and What the List?™ creator Ashkan Karbasfrooshan, whose company has grown to reach 150 million monthly viewers, with 50 million subscribers watching 300 million videos each month.
On What The List?™ each question is factual and universal enough that the audience doesn't need to know WatchMojo to want to play along, but knowing WatchMojo's editorial tone helps contestants guess the top 10 list.
"We were on the verge of producing a traditional, big shiny-floor production when Covid-19 hit and derailed our plans. Eventually, we felt that the show could work well in a remote setup with a lo-fi sensitivity, so we decided to produce it now. The first show includes WatchMojo's team, but future shows will feature celebrities and fans," continues Rebecca Brayton, producer and host.

Nickelodeon has ordered two virtually produced interactive series, one of which is a celebrity game show Game Face (working title), both for premiere this summer.
In the six-episode Game Face, celebrities' true identities are hidden behind an animated filter and voice changer, while a star-studded panel is given wacky clues and competes to decipher the mystery guest. Viewers can participate by downloading the show's filters to transform into the same characters as their favorite celebrities. A host will be announced at a later date.
Game Face will begin remote production this month, with a premiere slated for Saturday, June 13, at 8:30 pm (ET/PT).

It has been 3 weeks when our Twitchhead of the month recipient Tipsytune sumbitted his application to become a Twitch parter. Applying is like a job appllication, but something recently happened......

Yep. The company that makes fantastic games followed him. They think he may be the perfect person to work for him once the safer at home smoke clears for good. Tipsy, I hope you'll become a partner and if that happens, we'll pass it along to you.

Wouldn't it be nice to bring Secret Hitler to life? Well, it did with Dirty Rotten Cheater on Ion, but Family Game Night was the most successful cable show to come close to. Todd Newton, who blew 50 candles this year is the ringmaster of getting your favorite Hasbro board games you played at endless game nights, give it the classic Heatter Quigley touch of Big and watch 2 families act out the reality of a board game. Already winning an Emmy for its gameplay and hosting abilities, the show ran for 5 seasons garnering cash and prizes to deserving families. Family Game Night made the then-Hub Network what was it was a decade ago.

Closing Theme

That's it for this week. Today's consolation prize is a Darth Vader mask. Breathe in and bring out your dark side to put Covid-19 to a stop. Darth Maul mask sold separately.

Madison: Game Show Live! is a presenation of Jackbox Media Services, Spy Fox Entertainment and Pluto TV Networks which may or may not be responsible for the mess we made. I'm not joking. Really.
