After earning the title of summer's No. 1 network for the first time in 24 years in 2019, ABC will once again kick off "Summer Fun & Games" with the premieres of returning series "Holey Moley II: The Sequel," "To Tell the Truth," "Celebrity Family Feud," "Press Your Luck" and "Match Game." The network also announced the premiere date for the farewell season of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and a new series from ABC News, "The Genetic Detective."
"HOLEY MOLEY," the 13-episode extreme mini-golf competition series, swings into season two as "HOLEY MOLEY II: THE SEQUEL" on THURSDAY, MAY 21 (9:00 - 10:00 p.m. EDT). The sophomore season will showcase self-proclaimed mini-golf lovers from around the country as they compete head-to-head through an epic obstacle golf course. In each episode, eight contestants will put their miniature golf - and physical - skills to the test as they face off in out-of-this-world challenges on the supersized course. The winners of each episode will return to the "Holey Moley" course for the all-star grand finale, where only one will be crowned winner and claim the $250,000 prize. "Holey Moley" is produced by Eureka Productions and Unanimous Media. Chris Culvenor, Paul Franklin, Wes Dening, Charles Wachter, Michael O'Sullivan, Jeron Smith, Erick Peyton and Stephen Curry serve as executive producers. Rob Riggle, Joe Tessitore and Jeannie Mai are featured as on-camera commentators and sideline correspondent, respectively. "Holey Moley" is an original format created by Chris Culvenor of Eureka Productions. Beginning JUNE 11, the series will shift its time slot to 8:00 p.m.
Hosted by "black-ish" star Anthony Anderson, "TO TELL THE TRUTH" will debut its fifth season on THURSDAY, MAY 21 (10:00 - 11:00 p.m. EDT). The funny reimagination of the beloved game show, featuring prominent pop-culture icons and unique commentary and banter from Anderson's mother, Mama Doris, will bring the excitement to another level. In each round, the panel is presented with three people who all claim to be the same person with the same incredible talent, job or achievement. One is sworn to tell the truth while the other two use every trick they can to deceive the panel. The panel of celebrities has a chance to grill each participant before taking turns deciding who they think is telling the truth. Additional celebrity panelists this season include Ashanti, Brad Garrett, Michael Strahan, Mark Duplass, Mike Tyson, Patti LaBelle, Rita Moreno, Yara Shahidi, and many more. "To Tell the Truth" is produced by Fremantle. Alycia Rossiter is showrunner and executive producer, and Jennifer Mullin, Jeff Gaspin, George Moll and Anthony Anderson are also executive producers.
"CELEBRITY FAMILY FEUD," hosted by stand-up comedian, actor, author and Emmy(R) Award winner Steve Harvey, will be kicking off its sixth season on SUNDAY, MAY 31 (8:00 - 9:00 p.m. EDT). The iconic game show features celebrities, along with their immediate family members or their extended TV families, going head-to-head in a contest to name the most popular responses to survey-type questions posed to 100 people for a chance to win money for a charity of their choice. This season's high-energy matchups include the casts of "Queer Eye" vs. "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy," "Jersey Shore" vs. "The Hills" and "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" vs. "Andy Cohen," among others. "Celebrity Family Feud" is produced by Fremantle. Jennifer Mullin is an executive producer, along with Gaby Johnston who also serves as showrunner.
"PRESS YOUR LUCK," a game of wits and strategy hosted by Elizabeth Banks returns for its season two debut on SUNDAY, MAY 31 (9:00 - 10:00 p.m. EDT). The stakes have never been higher as contestants try to avoid the iconic and devilish WHAMMY for a chance at life-changing cash and prizes. During each game of "Press Your Luck," three contestants compete against each other answering questions to earn spins on the Big Board. Contestants then use their spins to win cash and prizes while trying to avoid the WHAMMY, who could take all of their winnings and leave them with nothing. The winning contestant moves on to the all-new bonus game to face the WHAMMY in a final battle for the opportunity to win $1 million. "Press Your Luck" is produced by Fremantle. John Quinn is showrunner and executive producer; and Jennifer Mullin, Elizabeth Banks & Max Handelman are also executive producers.
Golden Globe(R) and Emmy Award-winning actor Alec Baldwin is back and ready to BLANK when "MATCH GAME" returns for season five this summer on SUNDAY, MAY 31 (10:00 - 11:00 p.m. EDT). Produced by Fremantle, the bawdy panel game features four contestants each week vying for the chance to win $25,000, as they attempt to match the answers of six celebrities in a game of fill-in-the-blank. Upcoming celebrity panelists include Amy Sedaris, Angie Harmon, Bob Saget, Christie Brinkley, Fred Armisen, Jane Krakowski, Padma Lakshmi and Vivica A. Fox, among many others. "Match Game" is executive produced by Scott St. John, Alec Baldwin, Mallory Schwartz and Fremantle's Jennifer Mullin.

Nikki Glaser cried as she made game show history by blurting out the wrong 'final answer' on Wednesday's episode of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? on ABC.
The 35-year-old comedian was competing on the game show hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, 52, for her preferred charity Rescue The Birds.
Nikki chose Dr Drew Pinsky, 61, as her 'smartest person' who could help her with the first 10 questions.
She then had a $16,000 question about film. At first, it was The Lighthouse, but Drew denied it and went with 1917. The real answer: 1917.
This marked the first time it ever happened in the history of the show. If she went with 1917 at first, it would've been all good as well.
e start of 2020, the National Academy of TV Arts & Sciences had big plans: a revamp of the Emmy logo and the start of its "over-the-top" digital streaming channel, which was all part of a big push to modernize the awards and the Academy itself. CEO and President of NATAS Adam Sharp was one of the key minds behind all that. But then the world's current state of health struck, and everything flew up in the air again.
Sharp has come on record to outline a timeline that would see the nominations for the annual awards be delivered in May.
Sharp said to Soaps.com, "We are going to be announcing them early – to mid-May, because we extended our judging window somewhat to account for [the current health concerns]. We're still figuring out how it'll be presented; obviously it'll be virtual, so a mix of press release and social media.
ITV is welcoming a new member to one of its most exclusive clubs, with the introduction of a brand new quizzing expert on teatime gameshow The Chase.
On Thursday, The Mirror reported that former contestant Darragh Ennis has been invited into the fold, as the first new addition to the Chasers since 2015.
This appeared to be confirmed by a tweet posted by Darragh, which read: "I'm really excited to be the 6th chaser on #TheChase. "I've been working hard on this for a while now and can't wait for my episodes to air. Well the ones I win anyway."
ITV has confirmed to HuffPost UK that the Twitter account in question does belong to Darragh, meaning we should expect his episodes to air in the coming months. Darragh first appeared on The Chase in 2017, scooping an impressive £9,000 for his team (around $11,200), who later all took minus offers from the Chaser, meaning his overall total was depleted.
Bachelor franchise has been hit hard by the COVID-19 production shutdown.
The Bachelorette was days away from starting production with a Clare Crawley-fronted season and The Bachelor: Summer Games was cancelled, in part due to the postponement of the Olympics.
Despite this, ABC is resolute that Crawley will eventually get her shot at love when production can resume and the network is also mulling a potential quarantine-themed spin-off.
ABC alternative boss Rob Mills told Deadline that internally it has thrown around the title, Bachelor In Quarantine.
"The best thing about The Bachelor is its willingness to evolve as a format so if we need to shoot a cycle that reflects these times, that's what we're going to look at doing," he said.
Music spin-off The Bachelor: Listen To Your Heart is currently on air, having been filmed before the virus. Next up would have been The Bachelorette in mid-May, followed by Bachelor In Paradise in early August. However, if ABC did move with a quarantine-themed season, it would unlikely be as simple as retooling Bachelor in Paradise.
There have been discussions as to whether the summer series could be shot in its secluded location in Mexico. However, host Chris Harrison played this down last week, calling that a bit "premature".
"Getting 20 cast members is one thing, getting 100 to 180 crew members and putting a director in a truck next to the producers, where you've got 30 people in a trailer next to each other is another thing. There's a lot of logistics that go into it," he told The Bill Simmons Podcast. However, he added, "We are on it, we're chomping on the bit to produce content."
American Idol was one of the most high-profile entertainment shows that was shutdown by the COVID-19 pandemic.
ABC and Fremantle have spent the last few weeks working out how to proceed with the format's live shows, going through dozens of scenarios, including one that would see the audience replaced by virtual Disney characters.
The Disney-owned network and the RTL-backed producer have now figured out a plan – scheduling four more episodes to whittle the final 20 contestants down to find a winner. The show, hosted by Ryan Seacrest with judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie as well as mentor Bobby Bones, returns with a two-hour episode on Sunday April 26.
ABC's SVP, Alternative Series, Specials & Late-Night Programming Rob Mills told Deadline that there had been an idea to "put a pin" in the show until the pandemic was over but that felt "unsatisfying".
"We knew we wanted to get some kind of results this season. You started seeing some of the things that artists and musicians were doing on Instagram and Facebook, even some of the stuff on TV, we realised there was a way of doing something different, but could also feel innovative, that's when the producers set about doing these shows that you'll see over the next couple of weeks."
The contestants will have three episodes and the finale to impress the judges, who are also filming remotely in their homes. American Idol showrunner Trish Kinane, who is also President of Entertainment Programming for producer FremantleMedia North America, told Deadline, "These kids have given up a lot to do these auditions and Hollywood week, it's only fair to them to keep it going and crown the next American Idol. You also don't have to win to have a successful career; Jennifer Hudson came seventh."
We were originally supposed to have six live shows, starting with a Top 14 on April 12. The Top 10 were to take to the stage on April 19, with the Top 8 set for April 26. The May 3 show was supposed to be just the Top 6, with the Top 4 competing on May 10 and the Top 3 vying for the season 18 title on May 17.
As for its competition.....
The Voice" is going forward with live shows despite the coronavirus pandemic halting studio production. The live playoffs kick off on Monday, May 4 with individual performances by the 16 artists from the teams coached by Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas, John Legend and Blake Shelton. In addition, the winner of the 4-way Knockout will be revealed and perform as well.
Due to the outbreak of Covid-19, each of the artists will sing for America's votes from their home. All the coaches and host Carson Daly will also be homebound. Voting will kick off at the end of the evening and continue overnight.
If the format of this season follows previous ones, the two artists with the most votes from each team will advance. Each coach will then select one of their remaining artists to move on in the competition. The last finalist will be chosen from among the remaining artists from each team who garners the highest overnight vote.
The subsequent live shows on May 11 and May 18 will narrow this field down to the Top 4. This talented quartet will perform on "The Voice" season 18 finale on May 19. The winner will take home the grand prize of $100,000 and a record deal with Universal Music Group
