Madison Brunoehler: From coast to coast, around the world, now in it's 4th consecutive year, it's.............
Now, America's favorite contestant, Pierre Kelly!
Me: Thank you Madi2theMax and this is Game Show Live!, where we get lit and get involved.
Welcome to season 4 of a new blogging year. As you can tell, we've renovated what you're seeing to give it more of a modern-ish look including the sound cues and the backgrounds. Also, we've spruced up the offices to make it look more like a modern-day Mcdonalds. We've added more monitors so that we've got HLN, MSNBC, Fox News, The Weather Channel, game Show Network, Buzzr, Shout Factory, MST3K and ESPN. We've even changed the breakroom around so that we've got some Arcade 1up machines to relax while you eat or drink. Btu I don't want to talk more about that, so let's just move on.
I want you to go back with me to 1939. Although, it's close to 1977, 1982 and 2000, it was a mighty fine year for movies. 10 were up for best picture at the Oscars, one of them did not win but was nominated, and was in the top 10 grossing worldwide. If you said Gone With The Wind......
Wrong Answer!
Frankly my dear, I don't give a crap why you watched Bandersnatch last night, the answer is.....
https://youtu.be/cIewCWZyX38
And because we're celebrating 80 years of this family movie treasure, i brought somebody to help celebrate the classic timeless film, Grace Balint is next to me near the desk to help usher in our 4th year on the air.
And now that the doors are offically unlocked, we start with......
The Double Toasted opening toss up story.
Alex Trebek says fans have made him feel better as he battles pancreatic cancer.
In a new interview with ABC's Michael Strahan, the Jeopardy! host and his wife explained how the illness has affected their lives. Trebek said well-wishes from fans sometimes make him emotional. "I don't mind getting choked up. My oncologist told me one of the symptoms, if you will, of pancreatic cancer is that you get these moments of depression, sadness," he explained.
The longtime television host first announced he was battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer in March via a YouTube video.
He said he realized something was wrong and called his doctor after he began to experience severe stomach pain. "I knew as soon as the doctor came back and mentioned the pancreas. I said, 'Uh-oh, it's going to be cancer,'" Trebek explained to Strahan.
His wife of 29 years, Jean Trebek, was the first person he told about the diagnosis. She said in the interview that it's difficult to see her husband "in pain and I can't help him."
Alex Trebek's cancer went into remission several months ago, but he was forced to undergo another round of chemotherapy after a health downturn over the summer. Still, he continues to work around his house on construction projects and on TV.
Next month he'll host Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time tournament, beginning January 7.
Despite his busy schedule, Trebek said he remains realistic about his health. "I have learned something in the past year and it's this: We don't know when we're going to die," he said. "Because of the cancer diagnosis, it's no longer an open-ended life, it's a closed-ended life because of the terrible … survival rates of pancreatic cancer. Because of that, and something else that is operating here, people all over America and abroad have decided they want to let me know now, while I'm alive, about the impact that I've been having on their existence."
Trebek is thinking about his departure from the game show. In a preview for the Thursday ABC special What is Jeopardy? Alex Trebek and America's Most Popular Quiz Show, the 79-year-old, who is currently battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer, revealed that he has already rehearsed his final goodbye.
"It'll be a significant moment for me," he acknowledged. "But I've kind of, in my mind, rehearsed it already, and what I would do on that day is tell the director, ''Time the show down to leave me 30 seconds at the end. That's all I want.' And I will say my goodbyes and I will tell people, 'Don't ask me who's going to replace me because I have no say whatsoever. But I'm sure that if you give them the same love and attention and respect that you have shown me... then they will be a success and the show will continue being a success. And until we meet again, God bless you and goodbye.'"
Despite this, the Jeopardy! host reportedly has "no plans" to retire from the iconic game show anytime soon, according to a coworker.
Despite this, the Jeopardy! host reportedly has "no plans" to retire from the iconic game show anytime soon, according to a coworker.
PEOPLE reports that an unidentified employee of Jeopardy! told CTV News in October, "He has no plans to quit, and is absolutely not announcing his retirement [anytime soon]." In the past, Trebek himself has also commented on the notion of leaving the show, at one point saying, "We'll play it by ear and keep chugging along until we either win or lose."

Me: Thank you Madison and we're back again. You have heard of Somewhere over The Rainbow, right, well, Grace has a hidden item you didn't get to hear in the movie. Go, grace!

That clip was from 30 years ago when it took Now You See it with Chuck Henry off the air and moved it from NBC but......
On January 6, 1975, the first episode of Wheel of Fortune hit the air waves. It would be a huge success, one of the most popular game shows in television history – although no one can explain exactly why.
Wheel of Fortune was the brainchild of Merv Griffin, the same television star who created Jeopardy more than a decade earlier. Encouraged by the success of this program, the media mogul considered other ideas for a game show. Griffin remembered long car journeys in his youth when he was playing with his sister Hangman and started developing a new word game concept.
But then on the first full week of 2020, this happened. Grace?
That "young Lady".........the actual daugther of Pat Sajak herself.......Maggie! Here's the scoop:
Vanna White is still filling in as "Wheel of Fortune" host in Pat Sajak's absence, so a special guest has been brought on as letter-turner. Pat's daughter Maggie Sajak will reveal the letters this week.
Next week, her father and White will return to their usual roles.
The official "Wheel of Fortune" Twitter account made the announcement Monday evening. "We're keeping it in the family — meet our special guest letter-turner, Maggie Sajak!" the post read, with the hashtags family and family time.
Maggie is Sajak's youngest daughter with wife Lesly. She turned 25 on Sunday, so she was 24 when these episodes were taped. He also has a son, Patrick Jr.
In an interview last month, Pat said that his emergency surgery due to an intestinal issue was "completely successful."
"I was back from surgery last week and had a wonderful time on the show," Pat in a special taped announcement. "I'm not going to be here this week. It's not that I've had a relapse, it's just because of the technicalities of the taping order." The Sajak-hosted episodes will start airing next week. White has been hosting episodes airing since Dec. 9, 2019.
And to give you an idea as to why.........Sinema, hit the play button!

We go across......the pond to a couple of stories.
Jason Manford is the host of First And Last, a brand new game show that will put contestants through a succession of ingenious rounds, all of which have one golden rule - players mustn't come first or last in any game. If they do, they will be eliminated.
Eleven contestants start each show and compete across a range of five downright daft, stupidly funny, play-along-at-home games that will see one of them leave with a cash prize of up to £10,000. The first and last players are eliminated from each round. To triumph, they'll need to judge every round to perfection and hold their nerve in the nail-biting endgame - contested by the remaining three players.
First And Last was created by Peter Holmes and has been commissioned by Charlotte Moore, Director BBC Content and Kate Phillips, Controller, Entertainment. The Commissioning Editors for the BBC are Pinki Chambers and Katie Taylor. The Executive Producers for Zeppotron are Peter Holmes, Ruth Phillips and Karen Murdoch. The Series Producer is Keith Cotton.
First and Last, Saturdays from January 4, 8.15pm, BBC One.
Channel 4 has axed The £100k Drop less than two years after the format moved to daytime, it's been revealed.
The gameshow, hosted by Davina McCall, began life as The Million Pound Drop at the start of the decade.
Last year, after a spell off-air, C4 bosses resurrected the show, but moved it from primetime to 4pm in the afternoon.
Contestants continued to gamble bundles of real cash on the answers to multiple choice questions, with money placed on wrong answers tumbling through trapdoors. However, the change in scheduling saw the top prize slashed to £100,000, a tenth of the original amount. While it was still a huge prize for daytime telly, rivalling amounts offered by The Chase, it seems viewers weren't impressed with the reduction.
According to The Sun, The £100k Drop has now been dropped itself by C4 after three series. A spokesperson for the broadcaster said: "There are no plans for The £100k Drop to return to Channel 4. "We'd like to thank Davina and all of the team behind the show for the numerous nail-biting moments."

Lego my eggo on this.
New competition series LEGO(R) MASTERS has announced celebrity guests, including Mayim Bialik, Terry Crews, Nicole Byer and "The LEGO Movie" writers and directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. These special guests will join host Will Arnett throughout the show's premiere season, debuting Wednesday, Feb. 5 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), immediately following the Season Three time period premiere of THE MASKED SINGER (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), on FOX.
Actress and producer Mayim Bialik ("The Big Bang Theory") will help the contestants pair LEGO-building expertise with their knowledge of the universe in a space-themed episode. Terry Crews ("Brooklyn Nine-Nine") steps in to help Arnett encourage the contestants in a "Good vs. Evil" challenge that has major implications on the competition moving forward, while Nicole Byer ("Nailed It!") comes to set to facilitate great LEGO storytelling in a "Story Book"-themed episode.
"Star Wars" fans will not want to miss some extra special guests in the "Star Wars"-themed episode of LEGO MASTERS, during which Arnett and guests BB-8, C3PO and R2-D2 challenge the contestants to build their own droids and replicate iconic scenes inspired by the beloved film franchise.
Additionally, renowned film and television writers, directors and producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller ("The LEGO Movie"), who also are LEGO connoisseurs, provide an assist in a "Movie Genres"-themed episode.
Anthony Dominici will executive-produce the FOX series, along with Sharon Levy, DJ Nurre and Michael Heyerman from Endemol Shine North America; Karen Smith and Steph Harris from Tuesday's Child; and Jill Wilfert and Robert May from The LEGO Group. Will Arnett also serves as an executive producer. LEGO MASTERS will be produced by Endemol Shine North America, Plan B and Tuesday's Child, under license from The LEGO(R) Group, for The LEGO(R) Group.

And now for the segment that......
http://tpirepguide.com/qwizx/gssfx/misc/bne-buzz.wav
Alright, that's enough of that. What I was saying was, It's time for......
http://tpirepguide.com/qwizx/gssfx/usa/blockbwhitering.wav
Buzz-GSN where we ask you guys on the GSN facebook page everything and anything.
We start with Bernadatte Bevan.
"You really did it this time taking Best Trivia Game Show off, didn’t you get a clue with all the notes you were receiving, I didn’t watch it and I never will and I’m not the only one. Couldn’t you have gotten rid of one family feud??i wonder why not??i wonder."
Well......Yes to make room for it's clone America Says. On to Sindy Speck on Get A Clue's host, Rob Belushi.
"Just watch this new game show...not real sure I like it or not but HATE the host. He is not funny or personable. He sounds like he is yelling most of the time."
Skip Lackey, anyone? Anyone? On to David White.
"Get A Clue" is too much like the game show "Go!"(1983-1984) Once again, no originality from GSN.
Maybe it's like Pyramid and Hot Streak in one. We go now to Randyl Applel.
"Was excited about the return of Catch 21 and glad it's back but I'm wondering why it seems so much less...what...energetic, I guess. I do miss the original dealer but the new one is fine.
May I ask why you don't show us the remaining power chips on the screen as before? Why is the energy much more muted than the original? Finally, can you bring back new episodes of THE CHASE but with the same two hosts."
I think the new one is more calmer than the original. Val PArker is going to end it.
"I watch Game Show Network. But i have one question. Why is Family Feud played so much? Don't get me wrong, I like Steve Harvey and the show. But, when it is played hours on end, it gets a little tiring. It's played more than all the other shows combined. You should mix it up with all the other shows."
Answer to that question: To get more viewers.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Time now for the Mistplay Game Break. Grace, I need an intro.
And you may need a brain for this question........
https://youtu.be/r5GXxfChBrY
The Wizard of Oz got a nod itself thanks to what CBS drama set in a courtroom?
Figure that one out after a Pandora song break as Grace gievs us another seelction from the movie.
And if I only had the nerve to give you the answer..........then here you go.
The answer: All Rise. The episode was entitled "The Joy of Oz."
Fact: In this episode, a fictional tale, The Wizard of Oz (1939) was placed in a trial context. A similar storyline took place in How to Get Away with Murder: I Want to Be Free (2019), except it was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937).
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd thought i'd share with you a few funnies that relate to today's theme here on this blog. So.....let's get to it.
https://youtu.be/tUFwQjOpqJM
The first one thinks the witch is giving out suspenders to Dorothy on Amazon......but why would she surrender to that?
Next, remind the Tin Man again to get actual hay stuffing, not turkey stuffing.
I'm sure you've all heard of Abbey Road, but these guys.....they know how to.
Who Needs Lifetime or Hallmark channel anyway?
Crossover, perhaps?
Might've been summer too early.
Again, another crossover.
Very funny. I like that. Last one.
Nice.
(song stops)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
However, we haven't clicked our heels 3 times just yet. One more segment. Way back in Drew carey's tenture of CBS' neverending story in game shows, there was a Halloween episode of a program that was devoted to it and one pricing game set the tone for a walk in the path to victory. See what went down in our Game show Live!......
Warp Ahead!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Welp, let the joyous news be spread, like a football play, this week's blog is drawn dead.
You get the idea.
