The Double Toasted Opening Toss up story.

BC is bringing back the classic TV game show "Supermarket Sweep," hosted and executive produced by Emmy(R) Award-nominated comedienne and actress Leslie Jones. Produced by Fremantle, the fast-paced and energetic series follows three teams of two as they battle it out using their grocery shopping skills and knowledge of merchandise to win big cash prizes.
The original format aired on ABC from 1965-1967 and went on to become a global sensation. It was adapted in 13 international territories and, most recently, relaunched in the UK.
Production on the 10-episode order is set to begin this spring. An airdate will be announced at a later date.
"I've always dreamed of being on 'Supermarket Sweep,'" said Leslie Jones. "Seriously, I tried out for the show years ago; and after getting turned away, I knew I'd have to take matters into my own hands. Being able to bring the iconic game show back to life on ABC is my ultimate redemption story!"
"'Supermarket Sweep' is the perfect addition to ABC's strong lineup of classic game show revivals, and we struck gold having Leslie Jones as the host and executive producer," said Karey Burke, president, ABC Entertainment. "The original version was one of my all-time favorites. I can't wait for it to be reintroduced with Leslie's fresh and unique take on the classic supermarket race, which will undoubtedly appeal to an entirely new generation of viewers."
"We are beyond excited to bring back one of TV's most beloved game shows," said Jayson Dinsmore, president, Alternative Development and Programming, Fremantle. "'Supermarket Sweep' is a fan favorite; and with the addition of genius Leslie Jones, a new generation will be introduced to this truly special series."
Leslie Jones is a three-time Emmy Award nominee and former SNL cast member. Her Netflix one-hour standup special, "Leslie Jones: Time Machine," launches on Jan. 14, 2020. She can be seen next on "Coming to America 2" for Paramount Pictures, set for a 2020 Christmas release. Jones is also set to shoot the film "Queenpins" later this year, opposite Kristen Bell, after having recently completed voicing the lead villain role in "Angry Birds 2" for Sony Pictures Animation.
"Supermarket Sweep" is produced by Fremantle. Executive producers include Leslie Jones, Hunter Seidman and Jennifer Mullin, Alycia Rossiter and Wes Kauble.

- In celebration of the 20th anniversary of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire," which debuted in the U.S. as a prime-time series in January 2000, ABC's celebrated late-night staple and Emmy(R) Award-winning producer Jimmy Kimmel will be stepping into prime time as host of a special run of episodes featuring celebrity contestants playing for charity. In addition, a new interactive game will allow viewers to play along from home. "Millionaire" is set to premiere on WEDNESDAY, APRIL 8. For the first time in the history of the U.S. franchise, celebrities playing on "Millionaire" can invite a guest in the hot seat to help them answer questions. It could be a relative, a beloved teacher or a famed trivia expert - anyone they want - to help them win as much money as they can for the charity of their choice. Additionally, this special run of shows will be introducing a revolutionary, live, play-along app which will allow America to compete to win the same amount of money that celebrities are playing for on the show. Celebrities confirmed to appear will be announced at a later date. "Regis came to me in a dream, asked me to do this and promised my own line of neckties if I did. I had little choice but to say yes," said Jimmy Kimmel. The original executive producer of "Millionaire," multiple Emmy Award winner Michael Davies, returns to run the series. "My professional career has been inextricably linked with Jimmy's since the days of 'Win Ben Stein's Money,' and he was one of the first-ever celebrity contestants on 'Millionaire' in its original run. I can't wait to work with him on this dynamic new version of the show that changed my life and the fortunes of so many who benefitted from and simply loved the game." "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" will be executive produced by Michael Davies, Jimmy Kimmel and Mike Richards, the three-time Emmy Award-winning former executive producer of "The Price Is Right," who is set to take over the helm of "Jeopardy!" and "Wheel of Fortune" later this year. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television's Embassy Row, Kimmelot and Valleycrest Productions Ltd.

Our featured artist is from Pittsburgh, Pa. Her name is Demi Schwartz. A Seton Hill graduate, (go pirates!) Her ambition is to become a pop star. But she's also a fan of Harry Potter as she proves it in this video.

Not bad, Demi. We'll have her later on for another performance, but first......

Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek gave a health update and revealed how he plans to end his run.
Trebek was at the TCA Winter Press tour to promote ABC special Jeopardy!: The Greatest of All Time alongside Jeopardy! champs James Holzhauer, Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter.
Trebek, who has undergone several rounds of chemotherapy since being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in March, admitted that "some days are better than others".
"My resistance is lower because of the treatments I've been having and as you can tell I've got the cold that's going around but this is the second time I've had it in the last month and a half. They've got me off one of my chemo drugs, which was killing me and I won't know until tomorrow when I go in for some tests and then maybe a week or so when I know how things stand. I have good days and bad days," he added.
The presenter added that while he doesn't forsee saying a final goodbye to Jeopardy "in the near future", he has already figured out how he will go out. He will ask the director to give him 30 seconds at the end of his final show, but said that he will do it "on a whim".
The first night of Jeopardy!: The Greatest of All Time was the greatest on Tuesday in the ratings, scored 14.37 million viewers and a 2.4 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic, dominating a night where the broadcast networks began returning to regular programming after a holiday slumber. The faceoff of Jeopardy! champs Holzhauer, Jennings and Brad Rutter kicked off their best-of-3 showdown for a $1M prize. The special, which gave ABC the nightly win overall in the demo, continues tonight and Thursday, with Friday and next week in the works if necessary.

But I wonder who won last night?

Yep. 4 matches and took the title in a best of 7 gauntlet throwdown over James Holzhauer and Brad Rutter. 3 smart men=record ratings.

Sticking with Jeopardy!..........

The producers of Jeopardy! said today that a "human error" in post-production was responsible for a contestant's answer being ruled incorrect in Friday's episode.
The show created an uproar on social media after a $200 "answer" in "Where's That Church?" category that read, "Built in the 300s A.D., the Church of the Nativity." Contestant Katie Needle buzzed in first and replied, "What is Palestine?" Host Alex Trebek said that was incorrect. Another contestant then rang in and answered "What is Israel?," and that was affirmed.
The Church of the Nativity, a World Heritage Site, is located in Bethlehem in the Israeli-controlled West Bank. Many countries including the U.S. and most of the European Union do not recognize Palestine as a state.
Here is the producers' statement, which was posted in the show's official website:
In the process of taping this clue, "BUILT IN THE 300s A.D., THE CHURCH OF THE NATIVITY" we became aware that the clue was flawed as written and that determining an acceptable response would be problematic. In accordance with our rules and in the interest of fairness, we voided the clue and threw it out. We restored Katie's and Jack's scores to what they were prior to the clue. The outcome of the game was not affected. We then continued the game with this replacement clue:

"BASILICA OF OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE" (Correct: what is Mexico?)
Unfortunately, through human error in post-production, the uncorrected version of the game was broadcast. We regret the error and we will make every effort to ensure this never happens again.

Meanwhile at Sony's companion......

Pat Sajak had his triumphant return to Wheel of Fortune this evening, and fans couldn't be happier.

Last month, the long-running host had to temporarily step down from hosting duties for an emergency surgery he needed due to a blocked intestine.

While he was gone, resident letter-turner Vanna White took over hosting duties, while his daughter, Maggie, filled in for her. Now that he's back, the game show's fans were more than thrilled to welcome him back to the Wheel of Fortune helm.

As the credits started to roll, Sajak thanked everyone for their well wishes, while joked that he'll try "not to do that again" anytime soon. White, standing at his side as usual, jokingly threw him a "please!"

So far in 2020, most people tried to fufill a new year's resolution....and failed. But there's one resolution we didn't break and that is..................

With HQ being a sinking ship like the Titanic, they send in some backup for a 2020 vision and beyond for the once mighty trivia app. Already in the pipe are HQ Tunes, HQX where you do photo challenges and HQ After Dark, a more spicy version of the "used to be" popular trivia game. But on the way is HQ Drop, a shopping game that makes its competition Gravy taste sour, plus a subscription servie ala The Q. Talk about a comeback of the new decade.

And beacuse I did mention the Q, ot's been 2 weeks straight since nobody won the premium jackpot of $100 which means next week it'll be at..................$150. Also, it shrinks down to 2x a week instead of daily. Ouch.

Remember Tellie? The app that gave us the colorful wheel? Of course, you do. Well, guess what?

Here we are in 2020 and........it's very much of a ghost app. We'll give you an update once the situation develops.

Finally, over at the Moon Clue space station, there's been updates about the app including a menu plus a chat room to talk trash before 2 CST on Sunday. Update your app today.

Sadly that was, the real live truth in live mobile trivia news, suckers!

(song stops)

Over to a Mistplay game break. Our Game Show Live! movie marquee has a movie out now, but the trouble is, it's by another name. Let's see what's playing at the cineplex.

You math nerds should know this. We'll give you a Pandora song break from Demi Schwartz once again as she takes you on a decade of pop.

Nicely done, Demi. Her new single "Into Focus" is on Apple, Spotify and elsewhere. Now, what's the square root of 49 you ask? Well, here's the answer.

it's Se7en. One of Morgan Freeman's acting accomplishments and one of Brad Pitt's biggest hits.

Have you even gotten paid to watch a movie franchise? No? Well Game Show Live! has found our newest boy band of brothers named teh Super Carlin Brothers and they're here to show you.

Final story for you all: REW in conjunction with Pluto TV Networks which distributes our show has ordered 12 episodes of a new reality series entitled "Are You A Mime?" In this new series, 10 wannabe mimes take part in this hidden identity game in which they all live in an.......

90 seconds to talk about The circle becoming a hit on Netflix starting from........

http://tpirepguide.com/qwizx/gssfx/usa/mtg-buzzin2.wav

Now.

If there was one Golden Brain award for Best Show of 2020 right now and the blog season would end early, it would go to The Circle on Netflix. Built as a next gen edition of "Big Brother," the show takes a page from the Fox Reality show "Solitary" and communicates with each other for a chance at one million dollars. Not only did it garner buzz, but it became the talk of the town from strangers and friends who have Netflix. This makes me consider plans toget back on the app since i'm on Pluto TV and Disney Plus right now and if this thing becomes of the the most binge worthy shows on the app, it may make a syndicated version someday. Heck, NBC could use it as a summer series or else, USA Network or Bravo could pick it up but who knows if The Circle continues to do its rounds as a streaming boling pot of fun.
