The executive producer of syndication mainstays "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy!," who has been with the programs for almost 25 years, is retiring. The Hollywood Reporter's Live Feed reports that Harry Friedman will stay on at both shows through the end of his current contract, which expires May 1, 2020.
Friedman, 72, broke the news to the staffs of both shows Thursday morning. "I think all of you know how much I love these shows, and that I deeply respect how hard you've worked to make them so successful," Friedman said in a statement. "We've celebrated a lot of milestones together, and now with my own personal 25th anniversary milestone just a few months away, it felt like this was the right time for me to step away. Please join me in making this the best season yet."
Mike Hopkins, chairman of Sony Pictures Television, which produces the shows, is quoted by THR saying: "We are proud to have had one of the industry's most prolific executive producers at the helm of our flagship game shows, 'Wheel of Fortune' and 'Jeopardy!,' for the past 25 years. Under Harry's direction, these iconic shows have become among the longest running and most successful game shows in television history. We look forward to working with Harry over the next nine months to create more outstanding television, and to ensure a smooth transition once a replacement has been identified. Harry is truly one of a kind, and he will be greatly missed."

Besides "Wheel" & "Jeopardy!", Friedman has worked on a number of shows, including "Caesars Challenge" and "The Hollywood Squares".
Both shows will premiere their new seasons on Monday, Sept. 9, marking the 37th season for "Wheel" and the 36th for "Jeopardy!" The programs are distributed by CBS Television Distribution.

Game Show Network, the leader in game shows and competitive entertainment, has announced Alfonso Ribeiro ("Americas Funniest Videos") has returned as host of its CATCH 21 reboot. Witney Carson ("Dancing with the Stars") joins as card dealer, reuniting the former dance partners in a game show first. The half-hour series is anticipated to premiere in Fall 2019.
In CATCH 21, dealing out larger-than-life playing cards, the host quizzes contestants with general-knowledge questions as they attempt to build the closest hand to 21. Part knowledge, part nerve, and part strategy, every correct answer is a chance to add a card and build a better hand or pass the card and "bust" the competition. In addition, every correct answer gives a player control of the deck and the option of "freezing" their hand to protect themselves from being "busted" later in the round. Putting a familiar twist on a classic game, players match wits and put victory on the line in every round with the turn of a card and the next correct answer.
Iconic television star, Alfonso Ribeiro has spent more than 30 years leaving his unique mark on the worlds of television, theater and beyond. Ribeiro hosted the original run of "Catch 21" on the Game Show Network for four seasons from 2008-2011. Additionally, Ribeiro is currently the host of "Americas Funniest Videos," just prior to that he danced his way into our hearts on "Dancing with Stars." His acting skills have been in homes for decades with the long-running sitcoms "Silver Spoons" and "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air."
Professional dancer and Emmy®-nominated choreographer Witney Carson is best known for the hit reality competition show "Dancing with the Stars" and winning season 19 with partner Alfonso Ribeiro. She is also an accomplished professional Latin Ballroom dancer and first gained attention when she finished as ladies' second runner-up in season nine of "So You Think You Can Dance."
CATCH 21 is produced by Game Show Enterprises, LLC for Game Show Network. Jay Bienstock, Scott Sternberg and Merrill Heatter Productions, Inc. serve as executive producers

Just when you thought Love Island was cancelled.......

CBS has handed dating reality series Love Island a second season.
The broadcaster is showing faith in the remake of the British entertainment format, which is hosted by Arielle Vandenberg.
The show, which has aired five nights a week in an 8pm slot since July 9, ends its opening run on August 7.
Contestants will return to the Love Island villa, situated in Fiji, for another run next summer.
The announcement was made during the TCA summer press tour by CBS Entertainment President Kelly Kahl and Thom Sherman, Senior Executive Vice President, Programming, CBS Entertainment
While the show hasn't quite exploded in the overnight ratings, it has performed well for a young audience, bringing the network's average down considerably during its timeslot. The show has expanded CBS' summer audience, been well received by young female audiences and has performed well digitally, becoming the network's most-streamed new show on CBS All Access and CBS.com in over a year. It also remains a fixture for social media fans.

Now for our favorite segment, my favorite segment and your favorite segment too.......

http://www.qwizx.com/gssfx/usa/blockbredring.wav

Buzz-GSN where we ask you guys on the GSN facebook page everything and anything.

Ruth Cesar will begin with this....

"My husband and I would like to see more of the other game shows and less of Family Fued. We love GSN but get so tired of watching Family Fued for hours every night. Seems like they show the same ones over and over. Mix in some of the other games. We end up switching the channel cause we've seen them the night before. Thanks"

I guess I'll agree with you and your husband for that. What about jack Burks?

"Why do you have to have so many reruns on America say? It get very old, maybe we’ll just to watch something else."

I'll tell you why. The Wendy's in Bartlett show this commercial to.....you know......give more people a chance to watch and make it the "It" game on GSN.

Here's Mark Brophy....

"What happened to CASH CAB ?.....Best show you have.....I'm seeing it less.....That means I will watch your channel less....."

On weekends. Banished. Still hanging in there. On to Rosemary Anderson.

"Common knowledge is so slow moving, it always sounds like the host is killing time. Are they required to say his name when they give an answer?"

Um........don't know. Next is Ben Wetzel who'll end this segment.

We enjoy your programming but I’m sorry, the episode of divided where the team excluded the Trump voting contestant was out of line and completely childish and reputation ruining of GSN! It was disgusting an NOT American! If you can’t respect the President you can’t Respect the military. President Trump is commander and chief. You guys have stooped so LOW. And I expect the next FOUR years to be a failure! #Trump2020 #ByeGSN

Time for him to switch to Buzzr. Okaywe must move on to a gamestop game break and Acoustic August will wait until next week, because we have something special from Robyn Cage in a minute, but first, we question this! The category is.....

Vegans and Vegetarians. And the clue is..........

Don't refuse to answer after this Google Play music interlude because our game show gyspy queen is here with a hot new video. Watch.

Talk about a smash tune! But the answer, er question is.......Who is Rosa Parks? here's why.

Parks soon made the natural transition to wanting to help others who needed to be freed from slavery: animals. She was a vegetarian for more than 40 years! ðŸ˜€

2 wheels. One battle. One from our neighbors to the north, the other from the good old US of A. Whose spinning wheel has stopped spinning? In or our or Qriket? Let's settle that debate in.....

One FALL!

Ring the bell!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYRE4OkQGgw

Representing Canada, it's Qriket and from Los Angeles, Ca., In or out.

offense: Qriket has a 2-color system while In Or out has.....well.....more than 2. 8 to be exact.

Reversal:  Qriket occasionally ends games with.....a death emoji or any minus points emoji when it's less than 5 points but In or Out eliminates people with wrong predictions and people getting out for cents.

Signature: Qriket has 2 good Canadians in Johnny and Melissa while In or out has of course, Tellie's founder, Michael Dietz, and when he's absent, he'll bring in Faruq (who's 40 today!), Olivia or Dariany who just came straight from Trivia Mob. The latter had way too many hosts to name, but back to this one.

In or Out may be color coordinated, but Qriket robbed them colorblind and thanks to its digital 3-tiered wheel and it's live shows, it's BACK TO ZERO for Tellie and the cover.....
