 The whatstrending.com Opening Toss-Up story.

Adam Levine is departing The Voice after 16 seasons, even though he was previously announced to be part of next fall's cycle. The announcement was first made by host Carson Daly on Friday's Today.
"After 16 seasons, Adam Levine, our beloved coach and friend, has decided to leave The Voice," Daly said. "Adam was one of the original coaches who launched the show, winning the competition three times and inspiring many of the artists that he worked so closely with over the years… He'll always be a cherished member of the Voice family… and we wish him nothing but the best."
Levine will be replaced by Gwen Stefani, who served as a coach during Seasons 7, 9 and 12. She'll be joined by previously announced returning coaches Blake Shelton, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson.
In a lengthy Instagram post on Friday, Levine reflected on the "surreal experience" of coaching The Voice for the last eight years, offering thanks to the show's fans, producers, fellow coaches and host Carson Daly. (Even Blake Shelton gets a heartfelt shout-out!)
"To all of the loyal Voice fans, there's literally no show without you guys. For me, it was time to move on," Levine wrote. "Your support has meant EVERYTHING… What an amazing ride. Thank you all so much."

Levine's fellow coaches, who learned of his exit just one day ahead of this morning's big announcement, are taking to social media to salute the Voice veteran. The best response, unsurprisingly, comes from Levine's better half Blake Shelton.
"Having a hard time wrapping my head around @adamlevine not being at [The Voice] anymore," the country star tweeted. "After 16 seasons that changed both of ours lives. I only found out about this yesterday and it hasn't set in on me yet. Gonna miss working with that idiot."
Adds Kelly Clarkson, "Found out last night about [Adam] leaving The Voice & while I get that he's been doing the show 4 a while & wants to step away, it will be weird showing up 4 work & he's not there To start an amazing show from the ground up is a big deal!"
The show also released its own statement on social media, heavily implying that Gwen Stefani is only serving as a temporary replacement for Levine.

But we enter a segment that gives you a grade and see what you think. It's the Yay & Yawn of May.

The yay:  James Holzhauer. He keeps wrecking up trivia wannabes and earning over $2 million in cash on J!

The Yawn: Dawson Feud on Buzzr. It seems that the version since its channel's humble beginnings is rumored to leave the netwrok for good. If that happens.....we don't know when.

After this commercial word,  Isn't Gilligan stuck on Love Island? See why when Game Show Live returns.

Will CBS' Love Island succeed where Fox's Paradise Hotel has failed?
The Eye network has announced that its adaptation of the hit U.K. reality show will premiere on Tuesday, July 9 at 8/7c and air five — yes, five — nights a week through Wednesday, Aug. 7.
For the uninitiated: Love Island sends a pack of sexy singles (or "Islanders") to an exotic locale in search of love. Every few days, the Islanders must couple-up — and those who fail to find a partner are at risk of being "dumped" from the island. Along the way, challenges arise in the form of new arrivals and myriad dramatic twists. Meanwhile, viewers at home will have the opportunity to "shape events on screen" and crown one lucky couple the winner of a cash prize.
A host and cast will be revealed at a later date.
"As the buzziest reality show in the U.K., Love Island has won the hearts of viewers across the pond as well as around the world, creating appointment viewing and fanfare for audiences everywhere. We are thrilled to bring our version of this cultural phenomenon to CBS," Sharon Vuong, CBS' SVP of Alternative Programming, said in a statement. "This fun, light-hearted series is like watching your favorite romantic comedy five nights a week!"
The Love Island announcement comes just days after Fox scaled back its similar reality show Paradise Hotel. The buzzy revival was set to air three nights a week, but has been reduced to Thursdays only following dismal ratings.

Don't be surprised Monday when car guy Jay Leno, the longtime host of The Tonight Show on NBC, makes a "surprise guest appearance" on the CBS daytime game show The Price is Right.
The week of May 27-31 has been declared "Dream Car Week" on The Price is Right, with contestants getting a chance to play for a Porsche 718 Boxster, Tesla Model 3, Land Rover Range Rover Velar S, and Maserati Ghibli.
To get the week started, Leno will be on hand, joining host Drew Carey on the stage in case someone wins a Jaguar F-type convertible, CBS said.

Celebrating its milestone 10th season, television's No. 1 cooking show, MASTERCHEF, will air two nights per week, kicking off Wednesday, May 29 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) and joining the Thursday lineup on Thursday, June 20 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
This season, the judges - award-winning chef Gordon Ramsay, acclaimed chef Aarón Sánchez and renowned restaurateur Joe Bastianich - take the series to new heights, selecting just 20 incredible home cooks from a batch of top-notch culinary talent.
Throughout the season, the home cooks will face a series of challenges, including cooking for a 10th anniversary pool party, catering a former MASTERCHEF winner's wedding reception, feeding ravenous NASCAR drivers at the Irwindale Speedway and, for the first time ever, traveling to the U.K., to take over dinner service at Chef Ramsay's flagship London restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay. Tough competition, surprise guests and many challenges are in store, with one home cook ultimately claiming the title of MASTERCHEF, the $250,000 grand prize and, for the first time in MASTERCHEF history, an opportunity to learn hands-on in each of the judge's restaurants.

Time now for a GameStop game break. Solve this Idiotest for good measure.....

It's a toughie but we'll give you a Google Play music interlude to think on it as you listen to Maxwell to close out the 2009 class reunion.

And we're winging Along to the answer. Although man made structures are tall and iconic, the only one that is the least is the park bench. Because it supports people. See there?

Alright kids, we've got a treat for all of you. Our resident paint gunslinger Jessica Haas is going to do The Avengers as a fitting tribute to the MCU's greatest team. And also, a giveaway if you stay until the end. Alright Jess, fire that paintgun!

Back in 2009, Reno Collier took us all on The Great American Road Trip.

The families are given recreational vehicles for use throughout the competition. They drive from place to place to compete in various challenges. There are two contests each week. The first is the "King of the Road" challenge, in which the winner receives a reward, and the second is the "End of the Road" challenge, in which the losing team goes home.

Think Road Rules but mixed in with National Lampoon's Vacation.

The show premiered on July 7, 2009 as the lead-in to America's Got Talent. However, due to poor ratings, NBC moved the show to Monday nights, with the next episode coming less than a week later. Guess the show ran out of gas with AGT still cruising.

That's it for this week. Today's consolation prize is a jar of dragonflies. They don't roar, but they sure can fly.
