Great news, Jeopardy! fans: Alex Trebek says he's "feeling good" — and is already thinking about returning for next season.
In a video update posted on Wednesday, the longtime Jeopardy! host gave us an update on his health, following the revelation last month that he's battling Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Noting that he's in the final day of filming on the 35th season of the popular syndicated quiz show, Trebek said, "despite what you may have heard, I'm feeling good, [and] I'm continuing with my therapy." He added that preparations for Season 36 of Jeopardy! have already begun: "I look forward to seeing you again in September with all kinds of good stuff."
Trebek also took a moment to thank fans for "their continuing messages of encouragement and support" since his diagnosis. Specifically, he thanked young people for the many cards they've sent him: "I'm touched beyond words."
The host of Jeopardy! since 1984, Trebek has the backing of show producers Sony Pictures Television, who said in a statement: "If anyone can beat this, it's Alex. He has our full support as he tackles this challenge head-on."
The newsroom at GSL has hunted stories like an Easter Egg Hunt. Let's find out who got the most eggs in a basket and who ended up a rotten egg in the Yay & Yawn of April.
The Yay: James Holzhauser. Not only did he go over a million dollars in winnings on Jeopardy! this wek, but set a single-day record on the program once. This guy's a trivia machine!

he session ending April 14 was one for the record books. Jeopardy rose 5% from the week before and took over sole possession of first place in the game show race as contestant James Holzhauer set a single-day record for the program, earning $110,914 on April 9.
However, Jeopardy's 6.4 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen rating was no match for even a mostly-rerun week of overall leader Judge Judy, which answered with a 6.7 and ruled the syndication chart for a 40th consecutive week. That marked the longest streak of any show at the top of the syndication ratings in 15 years.
Next in line behind Judy, which aired repeats on four of the five days, and Jeopardy were Family Feud at a 6.0 and Wheel of Fortune at a 5.9.
In the household rating rankings that follow, % change is from the previous week; * indicates a new season-high rating; ** indicates a new season low; NC indicates no change from the previous week; NA mean not applicable.

"Nailed It!" is coming back for a third season at Netflix, with hosts Nicole Byer and pastry chef Jacques Torres once again at the helm of this hot mess of a baking competition. Six new episodes will launch on Netflix May 17.
The series follows contestants with questionable baking skills trying to recreate culinary masterpieces for the chance to win a $10,000 prize. The crazy challenges the bakers will be tasked with this season include a "Black Panther" cake, a cotton-candy flavored clown cake, a cake-replica of Michelangelo's statue of David, a T. rex cake, a fondant-covered doll cake, and a layered bust of Napoleon Bonaparte.
In each episode, contestants compete in two challenges. In the first, called "Baker's Choice," they choose a cake to recreate. The winner of round one gets a special prize and a golden chef's hat. In the second challenge, "Nail It or Fail It," they have two hours to recreate a complicated cake from scratch, with the option of pressing the "Panic Button" for three minutes of assistance from a judge should they need it.
Renowned actress, TV host and influencer, Gaby Espino, will spice up the Telemundo screen this summer with the grand premiere of the second season of "MasterChef Latino," the number one reality cooking competition in the world which premieres Sunday, May 19 at 7pm/6c. Celebrity chefs Claudia Sandoval, Ennio Carota and Benito Molina return as judges of an innovative format produced by Endemol Shine Boomdog that brings together a great diversity of cultures, food and flavors from all over Latin America, where the best amateur/non-professional cooks from around the United States will do everything possible to become a culinary master and compete for a $100,000 cash prize and the coveted title of MasterChef Latino.
Throughout the culinary competition, fans of "MasterChef Latino" can join Telemundo's renowned Chef James Tahhan, who will serve as digital host to bring all the inside scoop and backstage access to Telemundo.com and the network's social media platforms.
Netflix has a new game show that puts its contestants in some pretty wacky situations.
Premiering on May 3, Flinch "is a game show where contestants are put in situations where they are tempted to flinch. If they flinch, they are electrocuted and lose their chance at winning prize money," according to a synopsis from Netflix.
The streaming giant is comparing Flinch to similar reality shows like Impractical Jokers, Fear Factor, and Jackass. Hosted by Desiree Burch, Lloyd Griffith, and Seann Walsh, the 10-episode season will feature popping balloons, dangerous mousetraps, and many more frightening things that may cause the contestants to flinch.
Most broadcast networks wrap up their ratings heavy hitters in late April or May and leave their summer for game shows and event programming.
Well, The CW is changing things up this year by packing their summer schedule with six new series along with some returning summer favorites. The new summer lineup was announced on Wednesday and includes some interesting titles.
The CW will have its own summer talent show, The Big Stage, along with a Taye Diggs game show, Hypnotize Me, anthology docu-series Mysteries Decoded, and an extreme sports show entitled, Red Bull Peaking.
Premiere dates for the new shows are coming soon.
Family entertainment television network BYUtv today announced it has ordered second seasons of the family cooking competition show "Dinner Takes All" and the multi-generational family game show "Battle of the Ages" to air this fall. Both series premiered in March 2019 and are currently airing their first seasons.
"In partnership with the seasoned creators of such favorites as 'Chopped' and 'Fear Factor,' BYUtv will bring back two reality series that are truly unique in the television landscape," said Michael Dunn, managing director of BYUtv. "'Dinner Takes All' is both a cooking show and a family game show, and the goal of 'Battle of the Ages' is to bring every generation of a family together. Both series have been audience favorites since their premieres, and we're pleased to produce more episodes for our viewers in the fall."
And that's the end of the speed round.
