Now on to headlines.

Culinary icon Giada De Laurentiis kicks off the New Year with the competition series Winner Cake All, premiering Monday, January 7th at 10pm ET/PT on Food Network. Each episode features four of the best cake-baking tandems from around the country, as Giada challenges them to create epic cakes for their clientele's unforgettable celebrations, ranging from a cake honoring a member of the armed services coming home to a cake for the ultimate family party featuring America's favorite quintuplets, the Busbys, from TLC's OutDaughtered.
Through 13 episodes the teams are put to the test over two rounds of baking, with a rotating panel of guest judges helping the clients determine which team captures their dream look and taste to prevail with the $10,000 grand prize!
"As a culinary superstar, restaurateur and Food Network host, there isn't anything that Giada cannot do," said Courtney White, President, Food Network. "Whether it is making a cake for a baby shower or bringing a celebrity client's vision to life, these bakers must navigate pressure-filled challenges, while wowing Giada and the judges for the right to walk away with $10,000."
Each episode features the baking teams competing in two rounds, including a Decoration Challenge where each team must create a unique cake topper based on the client's theme. The panel of judges then decide which team is the first to be eliminated. In the second round, the three remaining teams take part in the Cake Challenge, where Giada introduces the client's request for a sculpted cake for their celebration.
Thematic episodes during the season include the creation of a game day party cake for former NFL player Rashad Jennings, Guy Fieri tasking the bakers with making a Guy's Grocery Games-themed cake, and Iron Chef Michael Symon challenging the bakers to make a cake for the opening of his new restaurant in Las Vegas. The stakes are high but only one team will be victorious and celebrate with $10,000.
Visit FoodNetwork.com/WinnerCakeAll for exclusive behind-the-scenes photos and insider videos with Giada and the celebrity clients. On Food Network's Instagram we are challenging Giada and the judges to a series of "Beat the Heat" games. Find out who can crack the most eggs in 30 seconds and who can stack and frost a cake the fastest! Join in on the conversation using #WinnerCakeAll.

Bravo Media's Emmy-Winning digital companion series "Top Chef: Last Chance Kitchen" returns with elevated stakes and three familiar faces from seasons past.
All bets are off when alums Carrie Baird and Brother Luck from Season 15, and Jim Smith from Season 14 are back for a chance at redemption and another shot at the coveted title. With more than one opportunity to get back into the competition, host Tom Colicchio continues to keep the chefs on their toes with fast-paced challenges to determine which chefs have what it takes to stay in the game. "Top Chef: Last Chance Kitchen" will be available on Bravotv.com directly following the season premiere of Bravo's "Top Chef" on Thursday, December 6 from 9-10:15 pm ET/PT. For a sneak peek, please visit: http://www.bravotv.com/last-chance-kitchen/season-16/videos/your-first-look-at-top-chef-season-16s-last-chance-kitchen-0
Sponsored by Hidden Valley(R) Ranch, "Top Chef: Last Chance Kitchen" is all about redemption as the chefs have big hurdles to overcome to secure their spot in the competition. With their dreams of a "Top Chef" title on the line, the veteran chefs will not only compete against themselves, but each week will also have to toe to toe with the new cheftestants as they are eliminated from the main competition. Each week, eliminated chefs will have an opportunity to prove their worth and the chef with the worst dish will pack their knives for good; while the chefs with the winning dishes will get one step closer to making their way back in the competition.
Episodes of "Top Chef: Last Chance Kitchen" will be made available on Bravotv.com, On Demand or wherever you stream Bravo's "Top Chef" at the conclusion of each week's episode.
Season eight of "Top Chef: Last Chance Kitchen" is produced by the Emmy Award-winning Magical Elves with Dan Cutforth, Jane Lipsitz, Casey Kriley and Doneen Arquines serving as executive producers.

Now pay attention to.....

http://www.qwizx.com/gssfx/usa/blockbredring.wav

Buzz-GSN where we ask you guys on the GSN facebook page everything and anything. Kicking things off this segment is Jonathan Lahti.

"It's the shopping season and you guys need to bring Shop Til You Drop back to GSN. I think it's about time you started showing episodes from the Lifetime era."

If only they showed the ones from 2003-2005. On to James Hedrick.

"Hi Mr. Feldman, can you please remove Caroline and Friends with Shop 'Til You Drop original series with all of seasons 1-8 episodes from Lifetime, The Family Channel and PAX in the year 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1996, 1997, 2000 and 2001 with host Pat Finn with his son Corey, daughter Kaitlyn and sidekick Dee Bradley Baker as that wacky superhero Shop Man at 4:00pm east coast on the schedule!"

Might've been the same thing as the comment above it. Now we go to Marti DenHouten.

"I like the show America Says but cannot watch it. Whenever it is on my dog gets upset and starts acting weird. Change the channel and she is fine. Anyone else have this problem?"

Well, if you dog is outside and the weather is warm, you might as well stay in and watch the whole thing. Next up, Susan hummel Ingalls.

"We love America Says, Lingo, Chain Reaction, and Emogenius. Family Feud is ok, too crude sometimes. Dislike Baggage."

Ah, a nice GSN viewer, maybe Bruce Mahar can follow it up.

"I don't get why you change the whole line up without telling people, every time I go to put my favorite game show on and it's gone and garbage show replaced it . It would be nice if you could give people a heads up before the change."

Agreed. On to Greg Whitehead.

"I love Match Game and watch whenever I can. I appreciate the marathon! Thanks for that. However, this is the age of binge watching and people expect shows in sequence. Showing random episodes is confusing and not comfortable watching. Please remember this in the future. Thanks."

Guess it's GSN for you. FInally, Fay Wagman.

"as a long standing fan of GSN I am currently so disappointed. Family Feud monopolizes the schedule. I loved this show when you had many hosts from years back. Now we have hours upon end of Steve Harvey, who used to enjoy. Way way too much of a very nice thing. Now I cannot even watch the show. I pay a premium to my provider to get GSN. While there are a few shows I really, really like and watch every day, I am now seriously considering canceling my subscription."

And....she switches to Buzzr.

This is a Game SHow Live! special report.

In a 2-part series, we investigate the two uneathed 1996 pilots done by Goodson and All-American Television. WHen the latter scooped up the rights to Goodson's Library, they wanted to get new ground for old shows and Card SHarks was one of them. But was it more different than the classic? Let's investigate.

https://youtu.be/wRl88VATFrs

In 1996, All American Television wanted to re-do Card Sharks. This time, Tom Green was the host and Dee Dee Weathers dealt out the cards. Only difference was instead of 2 decks of cards, they had to build a pyramid of cards. Not fun. Also, they brought in an old fearure from the 1986 version. This time, 10 rock stars vixens were in the crowd. Also, the bonus round was different. The old version has the Money Cards, the holy grail of the show. Instead, it was 3 stars and each question had a quote for the stars to fit. Again, not fun. Up to 4 cards were in the diamond and every card was worth $100 times it's card like a 7 for $700. One card is the ace and do you know what it's worth? $5000.

However, Card Sharks changed it in 2001 and decided to have one row of cards and finish the dilemmas to change it to make it the lowest of the revivals. Tune in next week for part 2 of this investigative series.

That's it for this week, today's "lump of coal in the stocking" is a Jitterbug smartphone. It's like an updated 2nd generation iPhone, but runs only on 2G speed, but the good news is, Youtube runs on 5g speed for that nostagic feeling and oh yeah, the Iheartradio app only plays The Standard......and nothing else. It's only $45 bucks and provides plans as low as $12. Wow.
