NBC has announced the first group of world-renowned, superstar acts who will compete on the all-new winter edition of TV's #1 alternative series, "America's Got Talent: The Champions," premiering Monday, Jan. 7 from 8-10 p.m. ET/PT.
The series, from NBC, Syco Entertainment and Fremantle, will feature the star-studded judges panel from "America's Got Talent" - executive producer Simon Cowell, Mel B, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel - as well as new host Terry Crews, star of NBC's "Brooklyn Nine-Nine."
"America's Got Talent: The Champions" will bring together the world's most talented, memorable and all-around fan favorite acts from past seasons of "AGT" and around the globe from the other "Got Talent" franchises," spanning 194 territories. These all-star acts, which include former winners and finalists, will once again take the stage to compete in a massive global competition with the hopes of claiming the ultimate title of World Champion.

A week or so ago was Black Friday, but let's see who was brave enough to come out November with a black eye and bruises unscaved. It's the Yay & Yawn of November.
The yay: Bobby Bones. He portrayed what it is to be a true-to-life sports movie and won the mirrorball trophy as of a result. Good work.
The Yawn: Cash Show. It was an everyday thing until it was slashed down to one show a week. This past Sunday, it was no more......until 2019. Don't worry, they'll be back.

Legendary TV game show host Bob Barker has been hospitalized for the second time in as many months.
Barker, 94, was transported by ambulance to Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles Sunday for severe back pain, the same issue he received medical care for in October.
"He's awake, alert and resting comfortably," William Prappas, Barker's business manager, told USA TODAY Monday.
Prappas said Barker will either be "released today or stay another day," adding that he "will be home for Thanksgiving either way."
The former "Price is Right" host was rushed by paramedics to the same hospital on Oct. 22 due to severe back pain, stemming from an earlier injury. He was released and returned to his Hollywood Hills home the following day.
Barker, who became a TV institution hosting CBS' "The Price Is Right" from 1972 to 2007, has appeared as himself in numerous films and TV shows, including "Happy Gilmore," "How I Met Your Mother" and "Yes, Dear," according to IMDb. The longtime animal rights activist appeared in 2014 on CBS' "The Bold and the Beautiful" for a story dealing with animal rescue.
And sticking with Price.....
CBS' "Let's Make a Deal" and "The Price is Right" are proving there are still eyeballs available during the daytime hours. Both game shows hit multi-month ratings highs, posting their largest audiences for the season during the week of November 12-16, 2018, according to Nielsen Media Research data.
Part one of "Deal" attracted 2.93 million viewers, its largest audience since the week ending April 6, while part two of "Price" attracted an average of 5.20 million viewers – the show's best viewer number since the week ending April 20.

Midway through a recent "Wait Wait … Don't Tell Me" production meeting in the office National Public Radio station WBEZ here, writer Peter Gwinn's phone thrummed with a news alert. It is Thursday afternoon, less than five hours before the taping of NPR's weekly comedy news quiz. Fine-tuning the script for that night's show were host Peter Sagal, official judge and scorekeeper Bill Kurtis, executive producer Mike Danforth, show creator and current "benevolent overlord" Doug Berman participating by Skype, and a small staff of producers, production assistants and interns.
The news alert concerned Donald Trump's acknowledgement that it "certainly looks" like Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, last seen entering the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul on Oct. 2, was dead. Up to this point, the president had resolutely refused to declare that Khashoggi had been murdered at the risk of jeopardizing relations (and arms sales) with the Middle East ally.
Late-breaking news is an occupational hazard for "Wait Wait," which marked its 20th anniversary at the end of last month with a Very Special Episode broadcast from the august Chicago Theatre. "What happens a lot these days is that by [this afternoon] some astonishing news story is taking over the front pages and we'll have to shift gears," Sagal said.
Chefs Anne Burrell and Tyler Florence are back in January to whip disastrous cooks into tip-top culinary shape in the return of fan-favorite series Worst Cooks in America. In the nine-episode season, Anne and Tyler each lead a team of kitchen nightmares through a rigorous culinary boot camp designed to improve their food skills. In the end, only the one recruit who makes the most impressive culinary transformation wins a $25,000 grand prize and bragging rights for their mentor.
Worst Cooks in America premieres Sunday, January 6th at 9pm (all times ET/PT) on Food Network.

BBC Studios has scored its first commission since setting up a production arm in Australia, with SBS ordering 85 x 30 minute episodes of the TV quiz show Mastermind.
Synonymous with the catchphrase "I've started so I'll finish" and the fearsome, black, spotlighted chair for its contestants, the series was announced by SBS at its Upfronts.
Airing in the UK for over 40 years, Mastermind is the legendary quiz that sets the toughest questions on television. No matter who takes to the iconic black chair, the tension is always immense.
In round one, four contestants have one minute to answer as many questions as possible on their specialist subject. In round two, each contestant has one minute again, this time on general knowledge. The contestant with the highest combined score wins and goes on to compete against other program winners for a place in the grand final.
In the UK, the latest season of this popular long-running series on BBC Two increased its reach. Its success around the world has also seen the show trending on Twitter, as it fires up discussion and engagement.
An Australian version of the show aired on ABC TV 40 years ago where it had a six-year run. The game show was hosted by Huw Evans, who also hosted ABC Radio's PM program for over a decade.
SBS revealed it will strip the format at 6pm weeknights.
