 The whatstrending.com Opening Toss-Up story.

Once upon  a time in Los Angeles.....this happened.......

Jeopardy! celebrates its 35th anniversary this February with a two week All-Star tournament featuring 18 of its most popular past champions.
They were drafted today into six teams, representing hundreds of thousands of dollars in winnings and victory streaks spanning several weeks.
The No. 1 draft pick was Alex Jacob of Greensboro, N.C. whose six-game winning streak and Tournament of Champions victory in 2015 won him more than $400,000. Alex was selected first by Buzzy Cohen of Los Angeles, one of six team captains chosen for their prolific winning and crowd appeal.
Cohen, who in 2016 won more than $150,000 in a series of blowouts that featured snarky Final Jeopardy answers, joined all time money winner Brad Rutter of Los Angeles ($4.3 million) and Ken Jennings of Seattle, probably the most famous Jeopardy! contestant ever and owner of a record 74-show winning streak from 2004.
Other captains included Colby Burnett of Chicago (a two-time tournament winner); Julia Collins of Kenilworth, Ill. (20 victories, top female champion); and Austin Rogers of New York ($461,000 in winnings).

The teams:
- Colby Burnett (captain), Pam Mueller of Culver City, Calif. (2000 College Tournament champion, multiple semifinalist in the Tournament of Champions) and Alan Lin of Riverside, Calif. (top three in 2017 Tournament of Champions).
- Buzzy Cohen (captain), Alex Jacob and Jennifer Giles of Longmont, Colo. (winner of the 2015 Teachers' Tournament).
- Julia Collins (captain), Ben Ingram of Lake Wylie, S.C. (a Tournament of Champions winner and friend of Collins) and Seth Wilson of Chicago, (12-time winner, top 5 in victories all time).
- Ken Jennings (captain), Matt Jackson of Washington (No. 4 all time in victories) and Monica Thieu of New York (a College Tournament champion).
- Austin Rogers (captain), Roger Craig of Jersey City, N.J. (most money won in a single game, known for big bets on Daily Doubles) and Leonard Cooper of Little Rock, Ark., (the memorable 2013 Teen Tournament winner).
- Brad Rutter (captain), Larissa Kelly of Richmond, Va. (first woman with a winning streak longer than 5, top 10 in victories) and David Madden of Ridgewood, N.J. (a 19-time winner, the third longest streak).

The Jeopardy! All-Star Games will be taped in January and will air from Feb. 20 to March 5. Under the format, each team will designate a player for the Jeopardy! Double Jeopardy! and Final Jeopardy! rounds. Teams will be eliminated based on their point totals through the tournament. The top three teams will be matched in a two-day final that delivers $1 million to the winners..

Facebook has caught the interactive trivia game-show bug with "Confetti," which doles out real cash prizes to the winners of the game each weekday — and this week, it has lined up its biggest prize-pool payout ever along with a roster of guest creators to co-host the show.
Facebook's pop-culture trivia game was launched in June with media company Insider. It's patterned on HQ Trivia, the popular live game show app that has spawned dozens of imitators since launching a year ago.
For Facebook, the live, interactive show on its Watch video platform is designed to drive users — and their friends — to engage in repeat visits.
This week, "Confetti by Insider" is hosting a special "Creator Week" event with digital stars Gigi Gorgeous (Oct. 1), Andrew "King Bach" Bachelor (Oct. 2), LalaSizahands (Oct. 3), StoneMountain64 (Oct. 4) and comedian-actress Laura Clery (Oct. 5). By enlisting the digital creators, Facebook is hoping to draw on their large fanbases in hopes that they'll become regular "Confetti" players. The total prize money is $12,500 for each game Monday-Thursday; Friday's prize is $50,000 — for a total of $100,000 this week.
Since launching in June, "Confetti by Insider" has distributed nearly $500,000 in cash to winners.
The digital stars will co-host "Confetti" this week with regular host J.D. Witherspoon. They'll be asking questions, offering hints and interacting with special guests on the show's main stage. In addition, the trivia game will include special questions highlighting the guests.
The "Confetti" live trivia game streams live weekdays (Monday-Friday) at 9:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. PT.
Currently, the show has 120,000 followers on its Facebook Watch page (facebook.com/confetti).
"Confetti" is produced by Thumb Candy Media, the digital studio division of B-17 Entertainment; Rhett Bachner and Brien Meagher serve as executive producers alongside Craig Brooks.

Hey Buzzd Out, Wanna hear about this?

Nickelodeon is getting into the Halloween spirit, with a month-long lineup of hauntingly good premieres from its live-action, animation and preschool series. Beginning Monday, Oct. 8, at 12 p.m. (ET/PT), Nick will treat viewers to ghoulish fun with all-new episodes of the net's hit series Double Dare, Henry Danger, Knight Squad, PAW Patrol, RISE of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, SpongeBob SquarePants, THE LOUD HOUSE and more.
On Sunday, October 21, "Electro Eradicators vs. The Twinning Team", friends take on twins in a series of classic challenges with a spooky twist, and only one team gets to compete in the ghostly final round.

Season 1 continues with new episodes this Sunday.

And tomorrow, it's the crossover to end all crossovers, The Q will get together with Hangtime for a crossover event like none other. The Q will do their game as usual at 7:30 central and Hangtime will do the same at 9 central. 2 chances at big money. That's Right, I'm not talking to you.

Switching gears and batteries on the remote, we go to.......

http://www.qwizx.com/gssfx/usa/blockbredring.wav

Buzz-GSN where we ask you guys on the GSN facebook page everything and anything. Holly Freeman will be the leadoff hitter.

"Sad that you guys took off Card Sharks and Pyramid. PLEASE DON'T TAKE AWAY Match Game.
Deal or No Deal is useless and so is Steve Harvey."

DOND in the mornings is so useless, it should've been in the noonday hours at all. We go next to John Fenner.

"I'm sorry to say this, but BUZZR has a better lineup of game shows. And I'm not saying it just because they are full of classics. They have a wider variety of shows on their schedule. I understand Steve Harvey's Feud brings in ratings, but previous management had aired shows that brought in ratings multiple times a day over the years, yet it wasn't hours on end. I can understand you've decided to go with more recent shows, and that's fine. But your schedule needs a wider variety, there are plenty of recent game shows from the past, say, 10 to 15 years that would fit well on the schedule to go with Steve's Feud."

I agree with that. Buzzr is better. We go next to Susan Cardillo.

"Why did you take off the old $25,000 Pyramid? I look forward to watching this every day."

It's the execs who do done did it. We move along to Shelly Pace.

"Don't like the new morning line up! Two hours of the no skill Deal or No Deal and no Pyramid!"\

Guess it'll be changing around to something else. Now we go to Mary Veerkamp.

"Who in the world made this current lineup in the morning. Rayburn for 2 hours Mandel. And Steve Harvey. Will be watching other stations until changes are made"

GSN did. That's who. We move on to Karen Beth Moore.

"I love Match Game but you have it on too much! Twice a day is all we need, not 6 times a day! How about bringing back some shows you used to show like Blockbusters, Super Password, Sale of the Century and Jim Perry's Card Sharks?"

It's all on Buzzr. Don't you understand? Lane Aldridge will be next.

"Will you PLEASE stop mucking around with the week-morning lineup? I'm old, partially paralyzed, living between bed and my wheelchair: GSN has been, essentially, my only pleasure in life. Give Card Sharks and Pyramid back to us! GRRRR!"

I think GSN needs to stop mucking itself for making so many schedule changes. We move on to Sedrick Gilbert.

"What happened to the weekday morning showings of "The $25,000 Pyramid"? On Monday another hour-long repeat of "Deal or No Deal" aired in its timeslot. A few years ago GSN dropped "Pyramid", then wisely returned it to the schedule. I sincerely hope that GSN will reconsider if it has indeed dropped the Dick Clark-hosted classic, as there are many disappointed fans."

It's because of the changes, that's why. Going up ahead is Kyle Weeks.

"Can we please get $25,000 Pyramid back?!?! And to pull it during Betty White episodes. FOR SHAME!!"

I think they should soon. Now we go on to Bert Grace.

"You might as well call it the Family Feud channel. S.M.H. Bring back Pyramid and the other game shows that are no longer shown on G.S.N. Y'all are gonna lose a lot more viewers."

Way to go, Bert. Now we go ahead to Julie Williams.

"PLEASE put back the $25000 Pyramid from 10-11 am weekdays instead of running 2 solid hours of Deal or No Deal!! Pyramid works the mind, the other is just a guessing game!!"

guess I'll choose the former. David White will be next.

"Game Show Network is re-running Harvey "Family Feud" to death. It's getting boring. Switch back to the Dawson and Combs versions for one or 2 episodes a day, but let's not have the "Family Feud Channel". I miss old game shows from the '70's like "What's My Line?", "I've Got A Secret", "Blockbusters", "The Joker's Wild" -- shows like that. I also miss the children's weekend blocks! What happened GSN? RIP!!!"

Yeah, what the heck happened GSN? I want to know. On to this interesting name....Nerky Musselman.

"WTF, why did you drop the 25k pyramid! And then you doubled the playing of the crude & ignorant match game! Who specifically is the dumb F that decided this? I waited years to finally get your mostly worthlees channel, and finally get it to watch cash cab & the pyramid, and then a month later you dump the pyramid? I should mention, don't you have other years of it to play other then 85-86? It was on a lot longer then that. What have you done to your channel? The newer stuff is rude and classless. Bring back the older original stuff (whats my line etc)!"

That's GSN for you. Onwards to Cheryl McCmober.

"Instead of having so many stupid-ass non-stop episodes of Family Feud from 3:30-9:30, why couldn’t you leave on a lousy ONE hour of $25,000 Pyramid? Or get rid of Caroline and Friends? What a stupid and boring show with nothing but repeat videos!!! And America Says has the worst host I’ve ever seen, EVER!!!"

Now there's one who hates GSN. And to end it, we go to Rick & Betty Roble.

"I care for two 90+ parents. They loved Chain Reaction - you moved it to wee hours. Now you take Pyramid off? We watched Card Sharks too. Is it cheaper for you to play HOURS of Howie and Harvey? Funny, our cable bill never goes down when a network limits our entertainment variety. Family Fued gets raunchier each day. With all the classic game shows through the decades, this is the best (cheapest) line up you could come up with? What about adding Hollywood Squares, Concentration, Eye Guess, Password, Joker's Wild - think of the customers and spend some bucks....
Posted in April (with no response from GSN):
Any chance of adding Hollywood Squares to the line up?
Your channel is a godsend for my elderly parents. Please return Chain Reaction to the afternoon. They love it. It is very stimulating for them."

And now the only thing these parents will care about is Buzzr, Comet, Antenna TV, Me Tv, Laff, Bounce or Escape for that matter.

Now for a Gamestop Game Break. We're bringing this one back......

Madi2theMax: Incoginto.

When Madison Brunoehler is not doing impressions just for fun, she "allegedly" and I mean by that, sneak in as a contestant on TV game shows. So tell us, what game show did she sneak herself in?

Give that one a bit of a thinking period after a Google Play music interlude, because we have a time-honored tradition this October where Svengoolie sings his horrible hits. As in horror movies....and B-Movies too. Look.

Now let's reveal the answer and pull back the curtain.....
