Frankly, Austin Rogers is too busy right now to contemplate who should replace Alex Trebek on "Jeopardy!"
"It is not on my radar; I have my own stuff going on," Rogers says from L.A. where he is developing a podcast, on speculation about the 78-year-old game show host's eventual replacement. "I am too busy to get into that mix, so who cares!"
And Rogers does have a lot of stuff going on.
The Westchester native who became a social media sensation as a contestant on Jeopardy! is the new brand ambassador for Virgil's Soft Drinks and is developing a pilot for a major cable network.
Even if you didn't watch Jeopardy!, you couldn't help but notice the quirky bartender who was racking up a fortune — nearly $500K on the competition — because he turned up everywhere from The Late Show with Jimmy Fallon (wearing a tutu), to Good Morning America.
Time to check the Game Show Live! bulletin board.
Michael Canter and Jeff Krask have signed a production and development deal with Craig Piligian’s Pilgrim Media Group. The veteran unscripted producers will be based in Pilgrim’s office in North Hollywood. They will work closely with the company’s chief creative officer Johnny Gould and vice president and head of development Nicole Silveira on new projects for broadcast, cable and digital platforms.
Canter and Krask are the exec producers of game shows such as “Family Feud,” “The Newlywed Game,” “Deal or No Deal,” and ABC’s “Child Support” and “Big Fan,” as well as unscripted series such as MTV’s “Parental Control,” VH1’s “Breaking Bonaduce,” and GSN’s “Divided” and “Winsanity.”
“Michael and Jeff deliver tremendous expertise in game show development, and a track record of hits across a range of genres,” Piligian said. “We’re excited to unite our creative efforts and look forward to collaborating on numerous projects in the game and competition space, and beyond.”
Reggie Bush, Terrell Owens and Baron Davis were just a few of the all-star athletes who took to the gridiron at Fairfax High School in Los Angeles on Sunday night to flash their skills and raise money for the 5th annual Celebrity Flag Football Game and All-Star Weekend.
NBA champion Matt Barnes and legendary rapper Snoop Dogg each led their teams in a spirited game that was half flag football and half block party with players jamming out to blaring tunes between plays. The annual event is hosted by Barnes as part of a weekend-long fundraiser for cancer research which included a bowling tournament and a pool party.
Barnes spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about why the event was so important to him. "I lost my mom to cancer in 2007 and I started this in 2008," he said. "I teamed up with Snoop about five years ago and it continues to grow. I’m a football player at heart. Football was my first sport and Snoop is a big-time coach and player, so it only made sense. I’m excited to see the project continue to grow and continue to raise awareness, so it’s been great."
The game was only one aspect of what felt like a rambunctious end-of-summer party. There were giant bounce houses in the kids' play zone, and hungry fans and players could grab a bite from food trucks like Wise BBQ and the Grilled Cheese Truck.
Alrighty then, let's check in with our silent treatment Tellymime to figure out the diffference between American TV and British TV. Watch and learn.

Chris Hardwick’s name is featured again in the “About” section of Nerdist. Though Hardwick founded the geek-oriented website in 2012, all references to him were removed in June following a lengthy Medium essay from Chloe Dykstra accusing her ex-boyfriend of extended emotional, physical, and sexual abuse.
The website posted an official statement on its website Friday: “Founded by Chris Hardwick in 2012, Nerdist is home to the Nerdist Podcast Network, Nerdist News, and Nerdist Presents. Following an internal investigation conducted with the assistance of outside employment counsel into Mr. Hardwick’s conduct while employed at Nerdist we have made the determination to restore the reference to Mr. Hardwick as a founder of Nerdist. Nerdist prides itself on being an inclusive company made up of a positive, diverse community of people who come together to share, celebrate, and discuss the things we love. We absolutely do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, and other forms of abuse.”
Though Dykstra’s account did not identify Hardwick by name, several details pointed to him as the alleged abuser in question, from their ages (Dykstra is 29 and Hardwick is 46, and in the essay she describes “falling for a man almost 20 years my senior”) to his professional journey (“from a mildly successful podcaster to a powerhouse CEO of his own company” — Nerdist began as a podcast, and Hardwick rose to CEO of Nerdist Industries).
After years of inappropriate and awkward moments on Family Feud, Pauley Perrette has had enough. The former NCIS actress lashed out at the long-running gameshow and host Steve Harvey for "filthy" questions.
"Dear @FamilyFeudABC I love @SteveHarveyFM and I love game shows. WHY DO YOU MAKE YOU PROGRAM SO FILTHY? Even with child players? No reason," Paulette tweeted Sunday night.
August 13, 2018— Pauley Perrette (@PauleyP)
She continued in a second tweet, "I’m a sociologist, love @FamilyFeudABC but WHY WHY are all the questions now filthy and sex questions? There’s so much more to humans. Cmon."
Paulette tagged ABC's Celebrity Family Feud edition, which has featured as many shocking answers from contestants as the traditional Family Feud.
It is not exactly Harvey's fault that Family Feud has created so many viral moments with contestants giving dirty or uncomfortable answers. Just last month, Harvey asked the Inside The NBA cast "If a man's zipper breaks at church, what might he use to cover it up?" Charles Barkley answered, "a child," which horrified Harvey, his fellow contestants and the audience.
When Sherri Shepherd and her family were on, Harvey asked to name something a female cop would do to her husband in the bedroom, the actress blurted out, "cut his penis off." Shepherd's family even supported the answer, but it was not one of the most common answers from Americans.
Which brings us......to our rant of the day from Jim Hatten.
I too, stand behind and support her 100%. Now, when Richard Dawson, Ray Combs, Richard Karn, Louie Anderson and John O'Hurley were all hosting the show, YES, there were sex-related survey questions BUT it was kept at a classy level but now, since he's been hosting it, Steve Harvey has taking it to the extremes, 9 times out of ten, all survey questions asked are all sex-related, I'm surprised there hasn't been a survey question like "Tell me a word or a phrase your mate will yell out during sexual intercourse" or "Name a road sign (or an animal) that best describes your mate in bed" (but then again, there MIGHT'VE been). Plus, it's become VERY tiring, BEYOND tiring having to go 10 minutes just to get thru ONE SURVEY question becuz he ALWAYS has to break into a so-called comedy routine or pretend to be so shocked at an answer given. "Family Feud" WAS once a fun-filled family friendly game show but now Steve Harvey has turned it into a sex-crazed frenzy and honestly, Mr. Mark Goodson would be turning over in his grave if he were to catch of glimpse of what the show that he and Bill Todman have worked SO INCREDIBLY HARD to create has turned into, same thing with "TPiR" with that nameless male model parading around the show half-naked (and Drew Carey always making goo-goo eyes at him), George Gray pretending to be a model in Most Expensive or Easy as 123 and all of these pointless gimmicks they do on the show today and having to turn to stars from "The Young and The Restless" or another CBS show coming in as guest models, the one they did where they had those girls from that stupid movie "Bad Mom's Christmas", THAT was the absolute WORST
