 The whatstrending.com Opening Toss-Up story.

Big Brother does a lot of things on their web streams that don't make the CBS broadcasts, but this past week, the show went a little....too far.

CBS has released a statement following outrage by fans over inappropriate behavior and racist comments by some cast members in Season 20.
"Big Brother is a reality show about watching a group of people who have no privacy 24/7 — and capturing every unfiltered moment and conversation in their lives. At times, the houseguests reveal prejudices and exhibit behavior that we do not condone," CBS said in a statement. "The producers have addressed two such incidents that were seen recently on the 24/7 online feed. In both cases, those involved have been warned about their inappropriate behavior and offensive comments, as well as future consequences. These events will not be part of any future Big Brother broadcast on CBS."
The most recent incident occurred Monday night on the show's 24/7 feed when cast members Rachel Swindler and Angela Rummans used the term "ghetto" when comparing their tans, sparking swift backlash by fans on Twitter.
Fans previously accused cast member JC Mounduix of sexual harassment for inappropriately touching contestants, with some calling for Mounduix's ouster from the show.
This is not the first time the series has dealt with controversial issues. In 2013, some cast members in season 15 made racist and homophobic remarks during their time on the show. And in Season 2, CBS ejected Justin Sebik from the show after he held a knife to the throat of a female housemate.

Game Show Live! will have more details as it develops.

Anyone who's played the frustratingly-addictive HQ Trivia is familiar with the crushing disappointment that follows a wrong answer, especially when you were only a question or two away from the jackpot.
So in a bid to stop players rage quitting the app forever, the live trivia game show is launching Streaks, a feature that rewards players for taking part in consecutive games. Its premise is simple. Play HQ Trivia for five days in a row and you'll get an extra life for the next game you play, which grants you immunity to one wrong answer. It's not yet clear yet exactly how these bonus lives will be given out, but the feature is rolling out today -- just in time to secure an extra life for the weekend's bigger jackpot games.

And we got more on the mobile quiz shows that make the whole world stop where they are or pull over to the side or hide where your boss or the cops aren't looking in.....

The real live online quiz truth in real live online quiz news, suckers!

The Q has decided to make sure nobody breaks the law. Here's the skinny:

After receiving numerous complaints from users who have violated our Terms of Service and therefore not been paid, we want to proactively inform all of our rule-following players, letting you know what is going on and making sure you understand our stance on this. Over the past several weeks, a very small number of users have consistently violated our Terms of Service, giving themselves an unfair advantage over the rest of our loyal Qsters by doing the following:
  • Creating scripts and bots that give them the most likely answer to the question based on Google results and scanning the web.
  • Spinning up 50–100+ emulators to use the process of elimination to almost guarantee a win each game and using VOIP numbers to create endless user accounts.
  • Participating in giant communities on Facebook, Discord, and Slack to share answers gained from bots and scripts.
These users are cheating you, and are not in line with the community we strive to maintain. They are breaking the core trivia experience, and will be banned as we identify them moving forward. We hope this improves the game’s core experience for the rest of you. If you want to know more or have any questions at all, please let us know at getmepaid@theq.live.
Thank you all for playing the game, and for helping us grow and expand this modern-age game network across the globe.
Sincerely,
The Q

Meanwhile at Swag IQ.....

They changed the format into survey-based questions for one week.Think Hot Potato....but in a to go box. Or Piece of The Pie from Square one TV....but with a snack cake feel to it.

To Hangtime we go and for a week and a half, Pop Quiz was pushed up to 5pm M-F only while the Good Game stayed put when Jon hudson wnet to the World Cup. This Wednesday, it makes it prominent return and no 9pm game will be commenced.

We go to Joyride and this past Sunday, a lot of Music Mania select games meant plenty of chances to earn some dough. Each one was worth $250 per game. That's a lot of dough to hand out.

Early suitors for Endemol Shine, the production company behind "Big Brother," "MasterChef" and "Black Mirror," include Sony Pictures Entertainment and Lionsgate, Variety reports.
"Based in the Netherlands, Endemol Shine is jointly owned by 21st Century Fox and Apollo Global Management," Variety notes. "Fox's 50% share of the company had been slated to be part of the pending acquisition of 21st Century Fox assets by Disney. But Fox and Apollo last month retained Deutsche Bank and Aryeh Bourkoff's Liontree to handle a sale."
The report adds: "Endemol Shine CEO Sophie Turner Laing and other execs have in recent weeks been on a roadshow pitching the company to prospective bidders in the U.K. and U.S. Interested parties have been asked to submit expressions of interest by the end of [this week] in order to get access to a deeper look at the company's books. One source familiar with the process said the information presented to date indicated a valuation in the $2 billion range although the asking price is expected to be higher."

MTV today announced that its popular dating competition series will return as "Are You The One? Season of Fate." Hosted by Terrence J., the new season will premiere on Wednesday, August 8th at 10:00PM ET/PT.
The summer heats up when 22 singles jet off to Hawaii to undergo the series' signature matchmaking process in hopes of finding their "perfect match" and splitting a $1 million cash prize. "Are You The One?" tackles the question, "If your perfect match was standing right in front of you, would you even know it?"
This season the contestants have one thing in common: dysfunctional relationship habits. With the help of Terrence J., these singles will try to find their pre-selected partners as determined by a rigorous process carried out by a team of professional matchmakers and psychologists. The new "Season of Fate" will introduce a "Fate Button." In previous seasons, the contestants were able to go on dates with the person of their choosing by winning challenges. This time, the "Fate Button" will determine which couples will go on dates and ultimately play a role in who enters the "Truth Booth." Contestants will not only have to surrender to the matchmaking process, but also put their faith in fate to find their perfect match.
Terrence J., actor, producer, author and philanthropist, is widely recognized as one of Hollywood's most skilled multi-hyphenates. The three-time Emmy(R) nominee and seven-year host on BET's "106 & Park" is also executive producer and host of MTV's "SafeWord."

Think about that for one second after this Google Play music interlude as we set the Wayback machine to the 1980s and our game show Gypsy queen Robyn Cage brought his band along based on what they met on a camping trip to inspire this song.

And we fire away at the answer, er, the question:

What is a Playboy Bunny? Boi-oi-oi-oi-oing!

Sometimes Game Show Live! would like to acknowledge those whose expertise of the pop culture realm devoted to one subject, deserves a Game Show Live shoutout.

Now.

America Says on GSN at first was going to be more than a family Feud or Hot potato clone, but then the network is notoriously getting Family Feud harvey reruns. That did help once it went on the air. Its fast gameplay, charming host and rivalries make it a surefire hit since Lingo went on the air. If America says continues to make it a hit and become something Divided and Winsanity can't do, it'll be the best thing GSN ever had in 2018. America Says.....It's a winner!
