 The whatstrending.com Opening Toss-Up story.

GSN, the leader in game shows and competitive entertainment, announced today its new programming and other initiatives, as part of the network's 2018 Upfronts, with a focus on its core audience with two new strip programs and a series of specials. GSN has greenlit two new strip series, AMERICA SAYS (Working Title) and CAROLINE & FRIENDS (Working Title), hosted by actor, comedian Caroline Rhea ("Sabrina The Teenage Witch"). The network's other new addition COVER STORY, which launched in January 2018, has been picked up following its successful debut. Freshman hit, SNAP DECISION, hosted by David Alan Grier ("The Carmichael Show") returns for a second season.
The announcement of new programming follows yet another strong year for GSN, which saw the network adding more than 16 million new viewers to its air*. Additionally, the popularity of the network's programming continues to be reflected on its social media platforms, with GSN enjoying a 66% increase in social engagements on Facebook over the previous year.**
"GSN is the home for engaging game show programming that attracts high value consumers looking for a family environment filled with winning and fun," said Fran Shea, executive vice president, programming and marketing for GSN. "Developing and producing new strip programming provides our loyal audience with a viewing destination they've come to expect and feel comfortable with, as GSN is an essential part of their daily routine."
"Our audience is a group of prolific consumers. The insights we have harvested on their behaviors and habits will help inform our clients' investment on GSN," added John Zaccario, executive vice president, ad sales for GSN. "The definition of premium is evolving and these insights, coupled with attribution data make the case for increased investment on GSN."
Additional announcements include:
- GSN will debut three new original series this year: AMERICA SAYS (Working Title) and CAROLINE & FRIENDS (Working Title), both scheduled for the summer, and COVER STORY (premiered January 14 and specials scheduled throughout the year.)

AMERICA SAYS (wt) is an in-studio game where two teams of friends and family face off to match survey responses with fill in the blanks that cover every topic under the sun. They'll have to be quick when trying to think of what America says, as time is always ticking and the team with the most money banked after three rounds will head to a bonus round to see if they can guess even more survey responses to win extra cash and prizes. The show is based on a format by Entertainment One. Tara Long and Mark Herwick of Entertainment One (eOne) and Dave Noll and Cleve Keller of Keller/Noll serve as producers. Host to be announced at a later date.

Hosted by actor and comedian Caroline Rhea ("Sabrina The Teenage Witch"), CAROLINE & FRIENDS (wt), is a comedic, family-friendly series showcasing the most hilarious and adorable videos from around the web. As our comedic host guides the audience through each animal, kid and funny viral video, she'll provide lighthearted conversation and commentary with her two comedic, celebrity friends. Caroline and her companions then nominate their favorites and ultimately pick the 'best in show', earning the family who submitted the video a special prize. The show is produced by Vin Di Bona of Fishbowl Worldwide Media. Rob Katz also serves as executive producer.

COVER STORY, a one-hour documentary series of specials, looks at the fascinating personalities, memorable moments and outrageous scandals in and around the most popular games shows of all time. Each episode seeks to reveal the true story with behind-the-scenes footage, in-depth, never-before-seen interviews and updates on where they are now as well as the dramas that touched the lives of stars, challengers, winners, contestants and characters involved in the long history of game play on television and beyond. COVER STORY is produced by Brent Zacky and Michael Spierer of Ashley Oaks Media.

- GAME SHOW NETWORK DAILY DRAW (premiered January 30) turns network viewers into winners with a weeknight drawing hosted by comedian Trish Suhr. Coming to viewers from GSN's headquarters in Santa Monica, CA, a $500 winner is announced each night with the draw celebrated by special guests from the world of game shows, comedians and entertainment icons. GAME SHOW NETWORK DAILY DRAW is produced by Game Show Enterprises, LLC for Game Show Network.

- Among the shows returning to GSN with new seasons in 2018 are the part game show, part social experiment DIVIDED, hosted by Emmy(R) Award winning executive producer Mike Richards ("The Price is Right," "Let's Make A Deal") and the numerical fact stacking game show WINSANITY, hosted by Donald Faison ("Scrubs"). Returning this spring, season two of DIVIDED is produced by Talpa Media USA, Inc. for GSN. Executive producers are John de Mol and Jay Bienstock of Talpa and Michael Canter. WINSANITY, also returning this spring, will feature a new format, with a new look and double the game play, now allowing two players to face off in a head-to-head battle to rank compelling and surprising facts in numerical order. WINSANITY is produced by Electus for GSN. The series is executive produced by Electus CEO Chris Grant as well as Michael Canter ("Divided") and Jeff Krask.

Returning later this year, SNAP DECISION, the comedic half-hour game show series hosted by actor and comedian David Alan Grier ("The Carmichael Show") that puts preconceptions, first impressions, and gut instinct to the ultimate test. SNAP DECISION is co-produced by Tornante-Sinclair LLC and GSN. Executive producers are Scott St. John, Lauren Corrao and John Quinn.

Food Network wants bakers. Because they want to.

Nine world-class bakers compete for bragging rights and a cash prize in season two of Food Network's primetime competition series Best Baker in America, premiering Monday, May 7th at 9pm ET/PT. Food Network's Scott Conant hosts the competition as bakers from across the country are put to the test in each episode to create elegant and delicious versions of classic baked goods, including a Skills Challenge that tests their mastery of the essential technical skills of baking, followed by a Master Challenge that tests the baker's prowess working with specific flavors and ingredients. Returning judges Jason Smith and Marcela Valladolid are joined by rotating guest judges, including baking digital influencers Yolanda Gampp, Joshua John Russell and Gemma Stafford, and prominent cake and pastry experts Florian Bellanger, Shinmin Li, Sherry Yard and Zac Young, to determine which bakers possess the artistry and creativity needed to advance through seven episodes, with one baker earning the grand prize of $25,000 and the title of Best Baker in America!
"The art of baking requires incredible skill and the utmost dedication to detail, while also being able to perfectly balance technique and imagination to create the perfect dessert," said Courtney White, Senior Vice President, Programming, Food Network, Travel Channel and Cooking Channel. "Through the competition these nine bakers have their work cut out for them if they are going to impress the judges, and prove to viewers at home that they have what it takes to be the Best Baker in America!"
The nine bakers competing for the title of Best Baker in America are: Becca Craig (Philadelphia, Pa. - Executive Cake Chef); Kym DeLost (Chicago, Ill. - Pastry Chef)); Jeremy Fogg (New Orleans, La. - Pastry Chef); Frania Mendivil (Los Angeles, Ca. - Executive Pastry Chef); Leigh Omilinsky (Chicago, Ill. - Pastry Chef); Lasheeda Perry (Atlanta, Ga. - Executive Pastry Chef); Max Santiago (Miami, Fla. - Executive Pastry Chef); Jean-Francois Suteau (White Sulphur Springs, W. Va. - Executive Pastry Chef); Adam Young (Mystic, Conn. - Bakery Owner and Head Pastry Chef).
During the course of the season the nine bakers will have to prove to the judges that they have what it takes to be the best, as they are tasked with culinary challenges designed to test their baking expertise and their inventiveness, including baking perfect Petit Fours to creating a classical French layered meringue cake to constructing the perfect strawberry shortcake and old school classics such as a Charlotte Royale and a Mont Blanc cake, all leading up to the finale on Monday, June 18th when we find out who truly is the Best Baker in America.

MTV's legendary competition show "The Challenge" returns with the premiere of an epic ten-week special event "The Challenge: Champs vs. Stars." Hosted by WWE Superstar and former challenge competitor, Mike "The Miz" Mizanin, "Champs vs. Stars" will feature ten celebrities and all-star athletes along with ten highly skilled, fan-favorite champions from past "Challenge" seasons. For the first time ever, teams will be mixed with both celebrities and "Champs" where they will face off in weekly eliminations, until one team will prove they are the ultimate "Challenge MVP." Winners will compete for a chance to take a share of the $150,000 cash prize to donate to their beloved charities. "The Challenge: Champs vs. Stars" premieres April 17, 2018 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
Each week, the two teams will compete in a challenge that will test their physical and mental strength. The winning team from each challenge will nominate their most valuable player (MVP) who will receive money for their charity, be safe from elimination, and choose their team's least valuable player (LVP) to go into elimination. The losing team will also nominate their own LVP to go into elimination, and the two LVPs will compete to keep their spot in the game and ultimately, their share of $150,000 to donate to their respective charities.

Time to Picture This. Here's Devyn Howard in bunny ears.

This was during SwagIQ's big $5000 throwdown. Before that happened, she posed with this last week.

Looking gangsta!

On BBC One, Countryfile topped the night with an average audience of 5.9 million viewers. It was the most watched show on Sunday night, leading in to a new revival of The Generation Game. Now hosted by Mel and Sue, the first episode secured 5.2 million viewers. The figure is not too far off the 5.8 million that watched the last revival back in 2005 with Graham Norton.
A second special will air next Sunday night, after the original four episode series was cut to just two showings.
The series was originally due to air over Christmas in 2017 but was delayed by reshooting.
On ITV, new singing game show Change Your Tune had viewers changing the channel. A weak audience of fewer than 2 million watched the opening episode between 7PM and 8PM. It followed a repeat of The Chase Celebrity Special which had over 3 million tuning in.
Elsewhere, a repeat of Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway - with only Dec - was one of the most watched programmes during the day. A showing a midday had 600,000 viewers, more than twice as many that watched a repeat of The Voice's semi-final.

"Celebrity Ninja Warrior for Red Nose Day" returns with a star studded line up as a part of NBC's fourth annual Red Nose Day celebration on Thursday, May 24 (8-9 p.m. ET/PT). With "American Ninja Warrior" hosts Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbajabiamila at the helm alongside Kristine Leahy as co-host, the show will feature celebrities from all walks of entertainment as they attempt to overcome the famed obstacle course. For the first time, host Akbar Gbajabiamila will take on the course he has seen so many ninjas face, all to support Red Nose Day and its mission to end child poverty. Additionally, Derek Hough ("World of Dance"), Grammy Award winner NE-YO ("World of Dance"), WWE Star Nikki Bella, Colton Dunn ("Superstore"), Scott Evans ("Access"), Olympic gold medallist Nastia Liukin and Gregg Sulkin ("Runaways") will all compete in the name of charity.
Elite ninjas will return to support and mentor their partner as they take on the physical and mental challenges of the course. Kevin Bull (coaching Akbar), Drew Drechsel (coaching NE-YO), Natalie Duran (coaching Colton), Meagan Martin (coaching Derek), Grant McCartney (coaching Nikki), Flip Rodriguez (coaching Scott), Barclay Stockett (coaching Nastia) and Maggie Thorne (coaching Gregg) will help the celebrities through a gruelling set of obstacles including the floating steps, the spinning bridge and the iconic warped wall.

Moving on to.....

http://www.qwizx.com/gssfx/usa/blockbredring.wav

Buzz-GSN where we ask you guys on the GSN facebook page everything and anything.

Ryan RInkerman will begin with....

On GSN right now, all I see onscreen are colored bars. Anyone else having this issue? It was working fine during Chain Reaction.

Anyybody having colored bars, you let us know.  Bryce Landon asks....

"I'm confused - your 9:00 am airing of $25,000 Pyramid was from November 1987, but your 9:30 am airing comes from much earlier in the show's run when it was still "New" $25,000 Pyramid...what's up with that?"

They're stuck in 1983. They should get to 1987 quicker. Andy Morace says....

"You should change your name to Family Fued Channel. All the game shows in history and all you can show is the same block of shows over and over."

But GSN is GSN. Remember?  On to Geri Blessinger.

Get rid of Steve Harvey. Why have family feud on so many hours at night? Steve Harvey is bad, bad, bad.

Ray Combs and Richard Dawson? Very good. JOnathan Lahti, take your mic.

"Hey GSN, one of my friends said you guys are too lazy and showing favoritism. I would like you to bring back some great classic game shows for Autism Awareness Month. Next month they're having another season of Snoop Dogg's Joker's Wild and maybe you should bring the classic Joker's Wild back to your lineup. You should also bring back Shop Til You Drop since Supermarket Sweep is airing on Buzzr and try and get episodes from the very beginning of the series. I would appreciate it if you would show more classic shows and show much less Steve Harvey Family Feud."

Remember SYTD? It tried and failed. Classic TJW would be a tossup. Conner Cohan with breaking news:

"Shock of the century: GSN's actually adding shows to their schedule! Starting in April, new episodes of Winsanity will air at 3 AM on weekdays, followed by new episodes of Divided at 3:30 AM."

Can you believe that? Rayna Danielle Anthony will end it.

"Why are you airing the same exact episodes days apart? I'm a loyal Match Game viewer but the episodes with that young blonde woman airing so frequently is getting redundant. Why can't you air episodes from 1973-81 in order?"

It's GSN's business and nobody else's business.

Time for a Gamestop Game Break. Solve this Super Password Puzzle from 1985.

Think on it after a Google Play music interlude as we kick off April Acapella Awareness month with the Atlanta Graduates graduating summa......whatever with this.

Now the answer. Duck..............Duck..................Duck...................Duck...............

What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Game shows back in the day had a lot of glitz, glamour and of course.....stars. We at Game Show Live! came to relive the memories when Family Feud wasn't repeating on cable or local news programs didn't flood your afternoon. It's our Game Show Live!......
