 The whatstrending.com Opening Toss-Up story.

Fifteen of Jeopardy‘s boldest, brightest and most viral contestants from the past two seasons will convene Nov. 6 for the long-awaited Tournament of Champions.

The two-week event will conclude on Nov. 16 and 17, with $250,000 going to the winner. (Second place nabs $100,000, while third place goes home with a respectable $50,000.) The contestants are made up of the 11 players who won the most games since the last Tournament of Champions was held in 2015. Additionally, two College Championship winners and two Teachers Tournament winners will also compete.

Let’s begin with the latest contestant to capture America’s hearts/Twitter accounts: New York City native Austin Rogers. With a grand total of $411,000 in prizes won over 12 games — his streak came to an end earlier this month — the quirky player has collected more money playing Jeopardy than any of his competitors. But will he be able to sustain that momentum?

The other 14 contestants competing in the two-week event:
* Seth Wilson from Nacogdoches, Texas. (Won 12 games, totaling $265,002.)
* Andrew Pau from Amherst, Ohio. (Won six games, totaling $170,202.)
* Buzzy Cohen from Los Angeles, Calif. (Won nine games, totaling $164,603.)
* Hunter Appler from Augusta, Ga. (Won six games, totaling $145,603.)
* Lisa Schlit from Berwyn, Pa. (Won six games, totaling $139,100.)
* Pranjal Vachaspati from Urbana, Ill. (Won six games, totaling $137,088.)
* Alan Lin from Riverside, Calif. (Won six games, totaling $123,600.)
* Justin Vossler from Homer, N.Y. (Won five games, totaling $110,000.)
* Tim Aten from Vermilion, Ohio. (Won seven games, totaling $107,499.)
* Jon Eisenman from Los Angeles, Calif. (Won five games, totaling $103,902.)
* Lilly Chin from Decatur, Ga. (Won the College Championship, earning $100,000.)
* David Clemmons from Fort Worth, Texas. (Won the Teachers Tournament, earning $100,000.)
* Sam Deutsch from Calabasas, Calif. (Won the College Championship, earning $100,000.)
* Jason Sterlacci from Somerset, N.J. (Won the Teachers Tournament, earning $100,000.)

When tuning in today, fans may notice that Alex Trebek and the contestants are all wearing dark blue ribbons. Along with the rest of the Jeopardy! staff, they do so in honor of six-time Jeopardy! winner Cindy Stowell, who would have qualified for this year’s Tournament of Champions but lost her battle with colon cancer on December 5, 2016.

Jeopardy! also made a $10,000 donation to the Cancer Research Institute (CRI) in Cindy’s name.

Stay right where you are. After this, something happens on January 1st. That's on the way, but first......

Welcome back to Game Show Live! A little later on, our in-depth interview with Lil Miquela. It'll be so much fun!

(song fades out)

Before we get to that interview, what's are you doing New Year's Eve? You guessed it, partying, but on New Year's Day....a bachelor arrives.

Six years ago, Arie Luyendyk Jr. was in love and a day away from proposing to the woman of his dreams. And then, she broke his heart. Emily Maynard (now Emily Maynard Johnson) may not have been Arie's future wife, but he hasn't been able to find a love like hers since. Now Arie, 36, is back and ready to race into America's heart yet again when he returns for a second shot at love, starring in the 22nd season of ABC's hit romance reality series "The Bachelor," premiering MONDAY, JANUARY 1 (8:00-10:01 p.m. EST), on The ABC Television Network.

During its 21st season, ABC's "The Bachelor" ranked as the No. 1 TV show on Monday night among Adults 18-34 and Women 18-34, beating out competition including NBC's "The Apprentice" and "The Voice." In fact, for the entire 2016-17 season, the veteran ABC unscripted show finished among TV's Top Five broadcast series with Adults 18-49 and was the No. 1 unscripted show. "The Bachelor" was up year to year in Adults 18-34 to a four-year high and among Adults 18-49 to a three-year high. The pop culture phenomenon was ABC's No. 1 most social series of the season with nearly six million total interactions across Facebook and Twitter.

After a tearful exit on Emily's season of ABC's "The Bachelorette," Arie has stepped away from the spotlight and focused on his new career in real estate, which has brought him tremendous success. Even though he has been gone from Bachelor Nation, America hasn't forgotten Arie's rugged good looks and charm. After mending his broken heart, Arie is finally ready to start his own journey for love

It's baaack, but just for one show.

The Queen of Mean, Anne Robinson will return for a Special Celebrity Edition of the Weakest Link for BBC Children in Need later this month.

Seven brave celebrities including Actor John Thomson, Love Island winner Kem Cetinay, Chef Rosemary Shrager, Actress Chizzy Akudolu, Columnist Giles Coren and Presenters Rylan Clark-Neal and Maya Jama have been confirmed for the line up.

They will face the wrath of Anne as they work as a team and attempt to answer a series of general knowledge questions to win up to £15,000 for the charity. However, only one can win, six will leave with nothing as round by round their teammates vote them the weakest link.

And now for a lawful story.

The High Court decided on 19 October 2017 that a particular television format document did not qualify for copyright protection as a dramatic work as its contents were unclear and lacking in specifics. Copyright protection has been notoriously difficult to obtain in respect of TV formats and the case contains useful guidance on the way television formats should be recorded or expressed in order to stand a chance of being protected by copyright as dramatic works. The High Court also considered that the TV format document was too vague and insufficiently developed to be protected as confidential information (Banner Universal Motion Pictures Limited v Endemol Shine Group Limited & others).

Now a question you would never ask to your teacher......Can you....Sqramble This?

Finally, We have just been informed that The Attack's Erin Steeby will be the host for Monster Seeking Monster. The popular dating game soon to air on Fox will also feature R&B music spanning from the mid-seventies to the late-eighties. A Fox network exec told Game Show Live!, the music in the program was designed to remember what their parents grew up listening, and in fact, what most african-american listeners have in the Urban AC/R&B Oldies radio category.  Each program will feature 8 singles to be dressed up as their favorite monsters.....

The Lightning Rant. 90 seconds to talk about why Funny You Should Ask needs to be fixed starting from.................

http://www.qwizx.com/gssfx/usa/mtg-buzzin2.wav

Now.

Funny You Should Ask is a remake of the once-popular Heatter Quigley hit hosted by Lloyd Thaxton. The host of this looney bin is Jon Kelley. It's what you call a poor man's Hollywood Squares. As if that wasnt enough for torture, the Pharrell Williams-penned classic "Happy" is being used as a theme song. Boy, Bryon Allen spent money to use it. And the top prize: $5000. This is syndication, not cable. What I would do is to go back to where the roots of the original format is. Futhermore, I would use a rip-off of the darn theme song. Look at what Impact Wrestling and WCW did. Also, raise the prize up to $15,000. Also, hire actual comics like Jeff Foxworthy and Colin Quinn and Carrot Top plus up & coming comics. And have it somewhere on CW/MNTV O&O stations or better yet, Sinclair Stations to air next or before Snap Decision. That could raise ratings in a hurry.
