JOKER JOKER...........DOGGY STYLE.
And....done.
magine having thousands of dollars at your fingertips, only to have it disappear in an instant. Such is the premise of Seven’s high-stakes game show The Wall, where teams of two answer a series of general knowledge questions before the drop of a ball down a four-storey wall determines just how much they win.
The result could be life-changing or teams could walk away empty-handed.
Co-created by LeBron James, the drama-fuelled game show launched in the US last year and has become a huge international hit, spawning successful versions in France, Belgium, Germany and Canada.
The Australian installment hits screens this week, with Axle Whitehead stepping in as host.
Having called Los Angeles home for the past four years, the 36-year-old says the offer to be a part of the Australian version was one he couldn’t refuse.
“I was a fan of the show when it was on in the US,” the singer/actor enthuses by phone from LA.
“I’ve been out of Australia working over in the States, so to be working with Australians is a great reminder to me of just how awesome Australians are and how they’re just everyday people ... with a great sense of humor and they’re just fighters and they keep going through whatever life throws at them, so that for me was a really nice experience.
“Professionally and personally, it has been a really awesome experience and I hope that Australians lap it up and we can make more of it. I didn’t expect to really connect with the people but when you’re there, you can’t help but be moved by it.”
Shot in Poland, where several European versions are filmed, the commanding set is spearheaded by a 12m high by 14m wide wall that comprises 187 pegs which determine where the ball drops and how much money is added — or subtracted — to a team’s tally.
And the Winsanity goes on.
The all new WINSANITY, hosted by actor Donald Faison ("Scrubs"), will return for a second season airing weeknights at 5 p.m. ET (4 p.m. CT) starting Monday, November 27.
WINSANITY, which debuted in June 2016, was watched by nearly 13.5 million viewers during its initial 40-episode run. Changes to the show in season two include a new set, as well as a new format, with two contestants (instead of one) competing against each other for the $10,000 prize. However, the show continues to offer the opportunity for prizes to be won not only by the contestants but also by the studio audience.
In each half hour episode, the two contestants each represents half of the audience, who stand to share in the prize money their contestant wins. The contestants face off against each other, attempting to rank compelling and surprising facts in numerical order (i.e.: Which is greater: the number of marriages each year in the US, or the number of Pope Francis' Twitter followers?). Each correctly stacked fact earns money towards a cash jackpot.
In the final round, the contestant with the largest bank will play a final game of timed touch screen stacking without help from the audience. If they correctly put five facts in order, the contestant goes home with $10,000 and their audience section will share in an additional $10,000. If they fail, the contestant and audience section win the amount previously banked.
Behind some virtual door is......
Since Let's Make a Deal's inception in 1963 the variety game show has transformed its content considerably over the years. And now the Wayne Brady-hosted series is starting to break into virtual reality.
Pegged to Halloween on Tuesday, the show has revealed a series shot in 360-degree 3D video that introduces a way for fans at home to actually step foot inside the studio from the comfort of their homes.
Producer Jersey Feimster told The Hollywood Reporter of the newest addition to the show: "It is a virtual-reality experience as the host of Let's Make a Deal. Viewers can step into Wayne Brady's shoes and get a 3D perspective of being the host of the show."
He added, "this is an opportunity for Let's Make a Deal to use new technology to engage with our home audience. They'll feel like they're stepping right onto the Let's Make a Deal stage without even leaving their home."
Said Brady, "They'll see the costumes and will experience the craziness that the audience can bring first hand."
The longtime CBS show is slated to unveil a total of 15 VR behind-the-scenes experiences that will be introduced throughout the season with the Halloween episode being the first one.
The newest development comes a month after the death of the show's original host Monty Hall.
As for how Brady plans to evolve the series going forward the host quips, "We'll continue Monty's legacy of making people smile and changing lives—with my comedy spin on it, of course. If it ain't broke ...
Climb up the viral mountain to this.....
ouTube has ordered Ultimate Expedition, a 10-episode adventure competition series from Rabbit Films that challenges eight celebrities with no climbing experience to scale Peru’s nearly 20,000-foot Mount Tocllaraju.
Here’s the logline for the series hosted by Rabbit Films USA President and Dudesons ringleader Jukka Hildén that will premiere on YouTube Red next year: Mount Tocllaraju is not the only mountain the cast is trying to conquer. Each climber has a personal challenge they are hoping to summit. Some are chasing dreams, some are redefining themselves, and some are looking for a spiritual awakening. They will experience elation, anger, and even a bit of comedy, on their way to finding joy as they work to overcome personal obstacles. This expedition is a rare opportunity to isolate themselves from the daily stress of the modern world — and prove that nothing is impossible.
“The stakes are high, and the risk is even higher, but everyone has an inner drive and motivation to summit the mountain both physically and metaphorically speaking,” Hildén said. “There are no second chances. You gotta leave it all on the field. Because here, you’re competing against the greatest adversary of them all: yourself. Here is where true heroes are made.”
It's an international Netflix food battle royal!
No sooner than right after you finish Stranger Things 2 (which debuts on October 27), another long-awaited Netflix original will make its debut. Marvel's (but really Jon Bernthal's) The Punisher is coming on November 17.
If insane levels of stylized violence isn't your thing, try insane levels of stylized everything else with season 2 of Maria Bamford's madcap Lady Dynamite on November 10.
But if you're a fan of food competitions, Netflix has you covered there, too.
