Today's program is presented this month by Starbucks.   Nobody knows why Starbucks has free Wi-Fi.....because they do. Find one at a Starbucks near you. Now let's crack the case with...........

 The whatstrending.com Opening Toss-Up story.

The 9 month marathon has already begun.

And it starts with a new entry: "Funny You Should Ask", a comedy game show from Entertainment Studios. "Funny You Should Ask", hosted by former newscaster & "The Mole" host Jon Kelley, features comedians riffing on questions asked by contestants. It's been sold to CBS-owned WLNY New York and KCAL Los Angeles, Ellis Communications’ KDOC Los Angeles and Weigel’s WCIU Chicago. The show is cleared in two-year deals, equaling 260 episodes, covering both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons. The show will launch both on broadcast TV in syndication and on Entertainment Studios’ cable network Comedy.TV.
In addition to New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, Funny You Should Ask is cleared on stations owned by Sinclair, Scripps, Graham Media, Meredith, Mission, Londen, Sunbeam, Nexstar, Raycom and more.

Comedians appearing in the premiere week of episodes include Howie Mandel, Anthony Anderson, Tom Arnold, Louie Anderson, Sheryl Underwood, Cedric the Entertainer, Jon Lovitz, Maria Bamford and more.

“Funny You Should Ask is the perfect comedy game show for the entire family,” said Byron Allen, founder, chairman and CEO of Entertainment Studios in a statement.

In addition, "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" returns with all-new shows with the premiere of its 16th season in national syndication on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 11. Originating from Caesars Entertainment Studios in Las Vegas, "Millionaire" continues to be the only program to offer a $1 million prize to each and every contestant as America's richest game show.

Hosted by Chris Harrison, "Millionaire" features contestants from all over the country and from all walks of life. In the show's classic format, contestants must answer 14 trivia questions correctly with the aid of three lifelines - Ask the Audience, Plus One and 50/50 - to win $1 million. Contestants also can win big as they navigate their way up the ladder, as the tension and difficulty build with each question, along with the prize money. Since the show debuted in syndication in 2002, contestants have won more than $95 million.

Throughout the 2017-2018 season, "Millionaire" will bring back some of its most popular specialty weeks, such as "Whiz Kids" (featuring some of the smartest 10 to 15-year-old kids in the country) and "Victories for Veterans" (in appreciation of the incredible service members from our armed forces). In addition, several celebrities will appear as contestants on "Millionaire" during the season, playing for their favorite charitable organizations. Among those confirmed are actress Sherri Shepherd, actor/comedian Rob Riggle, chef Curtis Stone, "The Bachelor" Ben Higgins, "General Hospital" stars Laura Wright and Donnell Turner, and actor/"Entertainment Tonight" correspondent Cameron Mathison, as well as Las Vegas staples Wayne Newton, Penn & Teller and Piff the Magic Dragon. Also joining the line-up this season are fun and exciting new specialty weeks including "Beginner's Luck" (featuring contestants that are experiencing Las Vegas for the first time) and "Happy Couples" (in which engaged duos team up to win money for their impending nuptials).

The long-running "Wheel of Fortune" spins into its landmark 35th year in syndication with “Teacher’s Week.” All the contestants on America’s Game this week will be teachers spinning the Wheel and solving puzzles for cash and prizes.

To add to the excitement of this anniversary season, contestants going to the Bonus Round will select the category of their puzzle from three options. The category options will vary from episode to episode. And to coincide with the 35th anniversary season, the minimum cash prize in the Bonus round has been raised to $35,000.

The show’s “$5K Every Day” Sweepstakes has been retired to make way for a bigger sweepstakes prize. In its place, Wheel Watchers Club members will want to pay specific attention to the Mystery Round. During Season 35, if the $10,000 Mystery Wedge is won by a contestant, then the SPIN ID of a loyal viewer will be revealed, giving them the chance to also win $10,000.

“Reaching our 35th anniversary season is a testament to the popularity of Pat Sajak, Vanna White and this simple, engaging game of hangman with prizes,” said Executive Producer Harry Friedman. “Instead of making this a season of self-congratulation, we’re giving our loyal viewers more game play, more fun, and more ways to win.”

Fans can once again look forward to the show’s annual “Secret Santa Holiday Giveaway.” This popular sweepstakes gives viewers the chance to win everything a contestant wins, up to the million-dollar grand prize. To date, Wheel of Fortune has awarded nearly $2 million in cash and prizes to viewers through the Secret Santa promotion.

Season 35 will also see the return of popular Wheel of Fortune partnerships with top brands including one of the world’s most iconic, Disney. Worldwide guided tour company, Collette, will also return as a partner this season. Both partnerships will give contestants and viewers the chance to win trips to desirable destinations around the world.

The winner of the 2017 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Game Show, "Jeopardy!" and its host, Alex Trebek, begins season 34 with more rapid-fire "answers and questions," challenging gameplay, and memorable contestant moments that are the hallmarks of "America's Favorite Quiz Show."

Season highlights include the latest editions of popular events, including the Tournament of Champions, College Championship and Teachers Tournament.

Also, throughout season 34, fans can look forward to the debut of new ways to play "Jeopardy!" at home or on the go. The "Jeopardy!" Skill for Amazon Alexa continues to grow in popularity, with more than a million players and counting, and "Teen Jeopardy!" and "Sports Jeopardy!" editions have recently been added to the platform. "Jeopardy! World Tour," the show's first-ever free-to-play mobile game (available on iOS and Android), invites players to test their knowledge with thousands of clues across a wide range of categories and compete against other members of the global "Jeopardy!" community and their friends.

Additionally, Mattel has debuted a "Jeopardy!" card game, now available for purchase, while a new console game from Ubisoft will launch in late 2017. Also, viewers can visit www.Jeopardy.com every weekday to play "J!6," the online game where users can play the sixth clue from each category in that day's show.

With 23 million viewers each week, "Jeopardy!" is the top-rated quiz show on television, and has won several awards and distinctions over the course of its 30-plus years on the air, including the 2017 Emmy for Outstanding Game Show. The show holds a Guinness World Records mark for the most Emmy Awards won by a TV game show (34); it is also the recipient of a 2011 Peabody Award.

Rounding out the premieres is season 19 of "Family Feud". Since its 1999 revival, the Feud has returned to the top of the ranks in all of syndicated game shows on the shoulders of Steve Harvey, which has reinvigorated the long-running franchise. The show will return to Los Angeles for the new season.
Harvey premiered on Feud in September 2010 and it’s been an upward climb ever since. In the week ended Aug. 20, Family Feud was the second highest-rated program in syndication, behind only CBS Television Distribution’s Judge Judy at a 6.2 live-plus-same-day rating in households. It’s been the top-rated game show for more than a year, overturning CTD’s long-running champ Wheel of Fortune. But more importantly, Family Feud is first-run syndication’s highest-rated show among daytime’s key demographic of women 25-54 — and second only to Warner Bros.’ The Big Bang Theory overall — averaging a 3.1 season to date.

Welcome back to Game Show Live! Later on in the show, We'll discuss the Whammy! on the shelf phenomenon that happens on Easter.

(song fades out)

But before that happens, Idol is delayed again.

Can this be true?

The AMERICAN IDOL reboot continues to have problem after problem. After failing to score their own alum, Kelly Clarkson, as a judge after she signed with THE VOICE and after seeing a low turnout at their Oakland auditions, AMERICAN IDOL might have to delay taping, as reported by TMZ. So far, the show has confirmed that Ryan Seacrest will be back to host and that Katy Perry will serve as a judge. However, they may not be able to secure Perry anymore, even when they've paid her $25 million, as they have failed to acquire 2 or 3 more judges for the panel. With Perry's Witness tour quickly approaching, the show looks like it will have to delay.

Sources say that producers are nowhere close to seating judges at the table. They wish to score country superstar Luke Bryan as the second judge, but the singer is looking for more money. The producers are not even thinking about judge #3 (and possibly a judge #4) as they work through negotiations.

Lionel Richie, Charlie Puth and Keith Urban were all names thrown into the ring to be possible judges, but none of them have come to fruition. According to a previous report from TMZ, Richie asked for $10 million, which was double what AMERICAN IDOL offered.
The producers will have to scramble to record taped auditions with a full panel of judges while working through their money problems. With Katy Perry's first tour date happening on September 19 in Montreal, it looks like we could be waiting a long time for the reboot to actually happen.

The X & O game returns......but for 3 more shows.

VH1's "Hip Hop Squares" returns from hiatus with THREE new back-to-back episodes on Monday, September 25th at 9PM, 9:30PM & 10PM ET/PT. VH1, in conjunction with Cube Vision, Jesse Collins Entertainment and The Firm, will be premiering the second half of season one of "Hip Hop Squares" on Monday, September 25, 2017 at 9PM ET/PT. "Hip Hop Squares" features the biggest names in hip hop, comedy and entertainment as they come to play and stay to party, celebrity contestants will match wits and test their pop culture knowledge with the superstar squares.

After being the 4th judge, it's adios for Julianne Hough.

"Dancing with the Stars" will look a bit different next season over at the judges' table. Julianne Hough will not be returning for season 25, ET confirmed on Wednesday. The news shocked fans, all of whom expected to see Hough alongside fellow judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba. Hough has been on the panel with them since 2014.

It's unknown why Hough will no longer be on the show or if she plans to return for future seasons.
It's possible that the many developments in Hough's life contribued to the decision: She recently tied the knot, marrying Brooks Laich in July, and she's been traveling and performing alongside brother Derek for their MOVE BEYOND Live on Tour.

Who  is the ultimate Taskmaster?

UKTV Original Taskmaster will bring together all five of the show’s series champions for the ultimate battle in a brand new two-part special, Taskmaster Champion of Champions. The two part special will air on Dave later this year.

Produced by Avalon, the critically-acclaimed, multi-award nominated Taskmaster, will welcome back all five series champions: Josh Widdicombe, Katherine Ryan, Noel Fielding and Rob Beckett.

The fifth and final winner will be revealed in the current ongoing series, airing Wednesdays at 9pm on Dave with Aisling Bea, Bob Mortimer, Mark Watson, Nish Kumar and Sally Phillips competing.

Greg Davies will once again rule as the all-powerful Taskmaster with loyal assistant Alex Horne firmly by his side as they put the series victors through their paces with a collection of confounding new assignments in the fight to become the ultimate Taskmaster champion.

Taskmaster has received a 2017 BAFTA nomination for Best Comedy and Comedy Entertainment Programme alongside RTS, Broadcasting Press Guild and Broadcast Award nominations since its commission in 2014.
An American version has been commissioned by Comedy Central.

Audience, what should she do, speak now or forever hold her peace?

Lorraine Kelly will be hopping over to BBC One to present a new wedding day game show. The popular TV personality will be hosting Wedding Day Winners alongside comedian Rob Beckett.

Each week, two engaged couples – accompanied by their friends and family – will go head to head to win prizes, a dream honeymoon, and a beautiful wedding ceremony which will be broadcast to viewers at home.

Although it's a competition, each couple are guaranteed to leave as winners, married to the love of their lives.

Wedding Day Winners will air in spring 2018.
Lorraine is more familiar to ITV viewers, having worked on GMTV and Daybreak and now has her own daytime show on the channel.
