The whatstrending.com Opening Toss-Up story.
With ABC and NBC getting into the child-adult experiment, The USA Network decided to get into the business by doing a UK import called "Big Star, Little Star." Here's a clip of that.
The New version will feature Cat Deeley playing with celebrities and their kids in a hybrid of games for charity money. Cat already has one of her own in addition to her ongoing So You Think You Can Dance hosting duties. It'll air May 31st on the USA network. It'll be childish fun.

One new show is Steve Harvey's Funderdome.
"Steve Harvey's FUNDERDOME," from Mark Burnett, is a seed-funding competition reality series where two budding entrepreneurs go head-to-head to win over a live studio audience to fund their ideas, products or companies. In each of the 13 episodes, the audience will represent the "customer" and, as the customer is always right, they will be voting to determine the winner. But, in each round, following the pitches and before Steve Harvey reveals the results of the crowd's majority vote, the entrepreneurs will face a major dilemma: one of the entrepreneurs is allowed to cash out and walk away for a lesser amount. But if an entrepreneur cashes out, they forgo the opportunity to win the whole cash prize for that round - a good move if they lost the crowd vote, but a bad move if they would have won it.
Steve Harvey will host, infusing humor, passion and support for the American Dream. The series is produced by MGM Television and internationally distributed by MGM. The executive producers are Mark Burnett, Leslie Garvin and Barry Poznick
Also new is "Boy Band."
"Boy Band," is a new series where talented singers battle it out to become a member of the next great music sensation. And for the first time ever, viewers at home will vote for their favorite five band members, live, creating a group America can truly call its own.
The 10-episode series will capture the audition process and behind-the-scenes excitement where young vocal talents compete for a chance to show the world that they have what it takes to win a coveted spot in the band and receive a recording contract with Hollywood Records.
"Boy Band" is produced by Matador Content. Todd Lubin, Jay Peterson, Jane Mun and Joel Relampagos serve as executive producers.
Matador is also responsible for Lip Sync Battle and the scary maze game Hellevator on GSN. But there was one return to TV and that was Battle of the Network Stars.
The '70s and '80s television pop-culture classic, "Battle of the Network Stars," is revived when it returns to television this summer. "Battle of the Network Stars" is a nostalgic throwback to the original series where TV celebrities blended athleticism with hilarious antics. The 10-episode summer event will pit teams of current and classic TV stars from multiple eras and different genres against one another in a variety of athletic games. Viewers can look forward to seeing a fresh take at some of the classic show's sporting "events" like Tug o' War, the Obstacle Course and the Dunk Tank.
In the original "Battle of the Network Stars," TV stars representing the three major networks at that time - ABC, CBS and NBC - teamed up to compete in physical challenges that were originally broadcast on ABC starting in 1976 and continuing for 13 years. Legendary sports broadcaster Howard Cosell hosted all but one of those 19 episodes, commenting on the action with a semi-serious version of the style for which he was famous.
"Battle of the Network Stars" is produced by Glassman Media and IMG, who also owns the format. The show will film at the same venue as the original series, at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. The executive producers are Andrew Glassman, Will Staeger and Michael Antinoro.
The Alphabet network will make your summer get turnt up!
MTV decides to make fear a factor by reviving Fear Factor.
E! News has confirmed MTV has revived the fan-favorite NBC reality show with a 12-episode reboot hosted and executive produced by Ludacris. However, this time don't expect as many insect challenges, the new series, which premieres Tuesday, May 30 at 10 p.m. on MTV, will have segments inspired by urban legends, scary movies and everyday anxiety-inducing happenings, like rescuing personal cell phones from extreme heights.
Each episode will feature eight contestants in four teams of two, like best friends, co-workers, exes, siblings, etc., according to a press release.
"MTV is about celebrating youth culture, and with the reinvented Fear Factor, we are putting the power in our audience's hands to face and overcome their biggest fears," Chris McCarthy , president of MTV, VH1 and Logo, said in a statement. "We are thrilled to partner with Ludacris, one of the biggest global stars who has a rich history with MTV, to energize this franchise for a whole new generation."
Original executive producers Anthony Carbone and Kevin Wehrenberg will return to the show alongside Charles Watcher, Rob Smith and Robin Feinberg.
Fear Factor premiered in 2001 and ran for six seasons on NBC. This isn't the first Fear Factor revival either; NBC brought it and original host Joe Rogan back in 2011 for a season of challenges.
MTV has also signed a development deal with the rapper-actor. "I am excited to kick off my partnership with MTV, starting with the relaunch of Fear Factor, which will be even more insane and ludicrous than what you remember," Ludacris (nee Chris Bridges) said in a statement. "This will be the first of many great projects together."
Fear Factor premieres Tuesday, May 30 at 10 p.m. on MTV.
Here's a task for you: Taskmaster has been commissioned for a series by Comedy Central.
The American version of the show will star stand-up comedian Reggie Watts in the role taken in the UK by Greg Davies. Alex Horne, who devised the show, will continue as assistant, judging five unwitting comedians as they compete against each other with creativity, cunning and genius in a series of tasks. Watts is best known to TV viewers as the leader of the house band on James Corden's talk show.
Taskmaster is already popular internationally with the format having been licensed into five territories – Belgium, Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands and Finland. A Belgian version has already aired on VTM and the Swedish version is currently on air on SVT 1. The original UK show has also been sold to BBC Worldwide Australia and TVNZ’s Duke.
The US show will be produced by Avalon Television and executive produced by Reggie Watts, Alex Horne, Richard Allen-Turner, Rob Aslett, Kara Baker, David Martin, James Taylor, Jon Thoday and Andy Devonshire (The Apprentice and The Great British Bake Off), who will also direct. Kellyn Parker, Adam Londy and Jordan Ellner are the Executives in Charge of Production for Comedy Central. Further details to be shared at a later date.
The USA Network teams up to make this show a team effort.
Epic competition series TEAM NINJA WARRIOR is bringing more heat to USA Network's Tuesday night line-up. Hosted by comedian Matt Iseman and former NFL player Akbar Gbajabiamila, TEAM NINJA WARRIOR will premiere its 11-part second season on USA beginning Tuesday, April 18 at 10/9c, immediately following WWE SMACKDOWN.
TEAM NINJA WARRIOR, part of the Emmy(R) nominated franchise "American Ninja Warrior," pits three-person athletic teams against each other on physically demanding, side-by-side obstacle courses that test both endurance and speed. Originally debuting on Esquire Network in 2016, TEAM NINJA WARRIOR ranked as the network's most watched original series in its history. Esquire recently announced that the network, a partnership between NBCUniversal and Hearst Magazines, will transform into a digital-only brand.
"TEAM NINJA WARRIOR is a perfect pairing to WWE SMACKDOWN," said Chris McCumber, President, Entertainment Networks, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment. "With this powerful franchise, we're giving our passionate audience three full hours of jam-packed, high-stakes action every Tuesday night."
For Season 2, fan-favorite competitors from "American Ninja Warrior" will form 28 teams, each with two men and one woman, and settle their rivalries on the warped wall -- for ultimate ninja bragging rights. In addition to hosts Iseman and Gbajabiamila, FOX Sports' Alex Curry will serve as sideline reporter, rounding out the talent commentators.
It's now time for a new segment entitled Jordan Hass is.....Questionable.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sf2EJ5NM69E
Yes America, it's time for Jordan Hass is questionable. A Game show host (almost), a twitch streamer and all around comic book nerd, Jordan has the burning questions to keep you all guessing in less than a minute. And now, from his apartment in Grimsborough University Center, here's the man in the Jersey Mike's thinking chair, Mr. Jordan........Hass!
I heard a rumor.......
.....That Toddlers and Tiaras is coming to GSN pretty soon. Is it true? Well, we will discuss next week on the blog, but this post in gsparadise.com gets our Rant of the day!
https://youtu.be/887LcggSAho
User S_Sweepfan3 buzzes in with this....
"I just saw the commercial again. Sure enough, it looks like this is happening.
I am done with the people who run this network. I gave them a chance, but I'm convinced a change in management is needed ASAP. There is NO WAY you can justify having a show like Toddlers and Tiaras on the GAME SHOW Network. Who in the hell thought this was a good idea? Who?! I am absolutely dumbfounded by this decision. Whoever made this decision or came up with this idea needs to be fired, let go, given the pink slip. This is an outrage. I thought putting Dancing With The Stars on the network was bad, but that doesn't even compare to this. What the hell are these people thinking?!
There are hundreds of game shows that GSN could've put on the schedule. Let me name some game shows GSN could've included that currently aren't on the network: The Price Is Right, Let's Make A Deal, Jeopardy, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Greed, Friend Or Foe, Russian Roulette, Password, Password Plus, Super Password, Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?, Lingo, 1 Vs 100, Duel, Million Dollar Money Drop, Street Smarts, Blockbusters, Concentration, The Weakest Link, American Gladiators, Twenty-One, 500 Questions, Name That Tune, To Tell The Truth, Win Lose Or Draw, Wintuition, Cram, Power Of 10, Hollywood Squares, The Joker's Wild, $ale Of The Century, Shop Til You Drop, and......Supermarket Sweep. (I had to include that last one, you know I was going to do it.)
That's not a hundred game shows I listed, but you get my point? My point is that all of those shows I listed would've been better choices to put on the schedule, but instead they acquire Toddlers and Tiaras?! That's not even a game show! It has me wishing they would give more slots to Harvey Feud! That's how bad this is. There's no way anyone can look at this and say "Yeah, this is good". There's no way you can say that. This is terrible and GSN should feel terrible. This is their worst acquisition ever.
/rant
Sorry for this post being a little spicy, but I had to say it. This isn't even a good show and it's kind of controversial to be honest. It doesn't belong on GSN."
I guess Sweep fan has his point.
(song stops)
One quick note of significant about that Buzzr network:
Buzzr is now running a couple hours of infomercials each day. Expect the ads to expand.
And now, try and get yoru head scratching on this Super Password Puzzle:
Figure that one out after this Google Play Music interlude as we continue April Acapella Awareness Month with 4 aussie lasses on TPIR contestants row: Ginger & Tonic with this Meghan Trainor hit song.
And you had done figured it out. It's.............
Well done, puzzle heads.
I was looking at the Movie Trivia Schmoedown free 4 all and it was.......Intense and riveting. So with the event looming at the time, I was on Facebook and told everyone what would happen if Sqrambled Scaures, the popular local program all of the Carolinas are watching would hold a celebrity Free For All? Well, the talent coordinators would wrangle these stars....Jason Inman
Ashley Victoria Robinson
Madison Brunoehler
Patrick Kane
Shira Lazar
Strawburry17
Stephanie Pressman
Zach Randolph
But there's 8 more.
Becky Lynch
Butch Hartman
Erin Robinson
Joslyn Davis
Andre "BlackNerd" Meadows
Matt Mercer
Marisha Ray
and Erin Darling
Same rules apply, but have the host call out the star who drew the number to the stage. Play 1 set of Sqrambled Scuares, loser is eliminated and winner stays until someone else takes his or her spot. When there is 1 person left, it'll be the same like the local show, but with the points being doubled and an increase in prize certificat value. Whoever is ahead after 2 sets could either face another challenger from the audience for next week's program or going first in The Super Sqramble. Any questions?

That's it for this week. Today's consolation prize is a unicorn frappuchino from Starbucks. Something The New Day would wash down with Booty-Os cereal.
