FOX is announcing summer premiere dates for new series LOVE CONNECTION, BEAT SHAZAM, THE F WORD WITH GORDON RAMSAY and SUPERHUMAN, as well as the returns of MASTERCHEF, AMERICAN GRIT and SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE.
This summer, Thursdays are all about match-making and music, with the debuts of LOVE CONNECTION and BEAT SHAZAM on May 25. All-new unscripted series LOVE CONNECTION kicks off the night at 8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT on FOX. Hosted by Emmy Award winner Andy Cohen ("Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen") and executive-produced by Mike Fleiss ("The Bachelor"), the one-hour series amps up the original hit dating show for today's audiences. Each hour episode will feature single men and/or women in search of romance, as Cohen brings his personal brand of audacious fun to the series.

New interactive game show BEAT SHAZAM, hosted by Grammy-, Golden Globe- and Academy Award-winning actor and musician Jamie Foxx ("Ray," "Django Unchained") debuts at 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT. Executive-produced by Mark Burnett ("Survivor," "The Voice") and Jeff Apploff ("Don't Forget the Lyrics!"), the series pits teams of two against the clock and each other as they attempt to identify the biggest hit songs of all time. In the end, the team with the highest score will outlast the competition and go against Shazam, the world's most popular song identification app, for the chance to win a cash prize.

On Wednesday, May 31, new LIVE series THE F WORD WITH GORDON RAMSAY debuts, following the Season Eight premiere of MASTERCHEF (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). On MASTERCHEF, Ramsay and renowned pastry chef Christina Tosi welcome celebrity chef Aarón Sánchez to the judges' panel. The three celebrated food experts will put the latest group of contestants through a series of challenging elimination rounds, in order to turn one home cook into a culinary master.

Then, get ready for food, family and fun when Ramsay's bold, new LIVE series, THE F WORD WITH GORDON RAMSAY, debuts at 9:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed. Based on his hit U.K. series, each distinctive and fast-paced hour will combine good food and great cooking with Ramsay's passion, energy and humor into a one-of-a-kind LIVE series. During each episode, teams of foodie families and friends will battle it out LIVE in a high-stakes cook-off, hoping to impress Ramsay, as well as celebrities, VIPs and other dinner guests. As the LIVE battle heats up, the show will feature Ramsay hosting highly stylized cooking demos and weekly out-of-the-kitchen adventures with fans, foodies and surprise guests. We'll see Gordon at his best inside the kitchen, and at his most mischievous outside the kitchen. With Gordon LIVE, anything can happen!

On Sunday, June 11 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), WWE(R) Superstar John Cena(R) brings 17 new competitors - all who either have lost their grit or never had it - to sunny Hampton Island, GA. There, Cena and an elite group of military heroes will live alongside these people, all in search of a change, and take them under their wing as they lead them through a series of all-new epic team and individual challenges. In the end, only one competitor will win a quarter of a million dollars, but hopefully, all of them will find their Grit.

Hosted by Cat Deeley and featuring the return of Mary Murphy as judge, alongside Nigel Lythgoe, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE enters its 14th season on Monday, June 12 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). Highly-skilled dancers between the ages of 18 and 30 will showcase their talents in various dance styles, including contemporary, tap, hip-hop, ballroom, animation, breaking and more. The Top 10 dancers will be paired up with All-Stars who will guide them throughout the competition as they vie for America's votes and the title of America's Favorite Dancer. An additional judge will be announced soon.

Following SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, get ready to have your mind blown when SUPERHUMAN premieres at 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT. Hosted by actor Kal Penn, and featuring panelists Mike Tyson, Christina Milian and Dr. Rahul Jandial, this jaw-dropping series of one-hour episodes tests the abilities of ordinary people to use their extraordinary skills to win a $50,000 grand prize. In each episode, five contestants who possess a distinct, nearly super-human ability in fields such as memory, hearing, taste, touch, smell, sight and more, are challenged to push their skills to the limit, yet only one will take home the title of SUPERHUMAN and the $50,000 grand prize.

Additional finale dates, summer premiere dates and schedule information to be announced.

Pretty wonderful, isn't it?

Now comes the only segment in which it's okay to be happy and sad at the same time.....the Yay & Yawn of March.

The yay: Cash Cab returning. In a city with over 13,000 taxis, there's only one New Yorkers should keep their eyes peeled for... the CASH CAB! The Emmy(R) winning series will return to Discovery in 2017, with a new spin, as unsuspecting passengers will be ambushed by America's favorite celebrities! Comedian David Steinberg (CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM, INSIDE COMEDY, SEINFELD, and MAD ABOUT YOU) comes to the project and with All3Media's Lion USA will revamp the series as executive producers, with Robyn Todd as co-executive producer.
Revived and revved up, unwitting passengers enter the Cash Cab expecting a normal taxi journey, only to discover they're instant contestants in for a potentially lucrative ride. Dodging New York City traffic, these lucky passengers will take on classic CASH CAB trivia en route to their destination. If they get stumped, pedestrians and friends can help them out via phone, text or social media shout outs. If these riders get three questions wrong, though, they're out on the street. All new episodes will feature some of the top names in comedy, film and TV... who will even get behind the wheel of the cab itself, picking up lucky passengers.

All3 Media's Lion USA returns to produce CASH CAB, following 10 successful seasons and winning 3 consecutive Emmy Awards(R).

CASH CAB is produced for Discovery Channel by Lion USA and Norton Productions. For All3 Media's USA, Tony Tackaberry and Allison Corn are executive producers. For Norton Productions, Robyn Todd is co-executive producer. For Discovery, John Slaughter is executive producer.

The yawn: Maks Chmerkovskiy.

Maksim, 37, hurt himself during rehearsal on Friday and therefore must watch his celebrity partner Heather Morris dance tonight from the sidelines.

"Sorry I was MIA. Tune in to @dancingabc today and all will be explained. Tough show for #teamMaksimumHeat and @heatherrelizabethh would have to hold it down for both of us," Maksim captioned a Monday, March 27 Instagram photo of Heather hugging him.

"Please show her your love and support while I work on getting my ass back to the ballroom. #DidNotSeeThisComing #WillBeBackBetterThanEver."

That's on the way, but first...

Sorry. Mario Lopez. He will be a part of it. He got his due doing the 2nd season of Masters of The maze taking over for JD Roth. And he also did America's Best Dance Crew. Can he make his presence felt on the eye network?

Like the Beastie Boys, one SNL alum is crafty.

Comedians Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman are teaming up for a new game show about craftsmanship. NBC has ordered 6 episodes of 'The Handmade Project,' which will pit contestants' skills in the art of, well, making things.

Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman, who starred in NBC's hit comedy series Parks and Recreation together, are going to be reunited to work on the project. Poehler is looking forward to conquering her fear of paper mache, while Offerman boasts a wealth of knowledge in the woodworking world, owning his own woodshop and holding a spot in the New York Times best-selling list in his field.
The Handmade Project invites participants of all ages and creative specialties to apply on their website, which also states the need for availability from August 2017 to December 2017 as a loose production date.

Swing and a miss, strike one?

In the second of a one-two punch that puts the WGA further along the road to a threatened strike against the film and TV industry, the WGA East’s council voted tonight in New York to seek strike authorization from the guild’s members. The vote comes a day after the WGA West’s board voted in Los Angeles to seek the same authorization from its members. The back-to-back votes were recommended unanimously by the WGA negotiating committee, which broke off contract talks with management’s AMPTP on Friday.

The WGA West said last night that the guild’s members will begin voting in April – online and at special membership meetings – to authorize the board and council to call a strike if future talks fail to produce a fair contract. That voting will be concluded by April 24 or 25 – a week before the May 1 expiration of the current film and TV contract.

Both labor and management have said they intend to return to the bargaining table after the strike-authorization vote is conducted. “Keeping the industry working is in everyone’s best interests, and we are ready to return to negotiations when they are,” management’s AMPTP said after talks broke off Friday.

“We are committed to continue negotiating with the companies in good faith to get you the deal we all deserve,” WGA leaders told their members Friday night.

“The WGA broke off negotiations at an early stage in the process in order to secure a strike vote rather than directing its efforts at reaching an agreement at the bargaining table,” the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television said after talks collapsed Friday.
The WGA blamed the companies for rejecting virtually every one of their proposals to improve the lot of film and TV writers and to rescue the guilds’ failing health plan, which is facing insolvency at current levels of income and expenditures. After two weeks of bargaining, the WGA said, “The companies’ proposal has barely a single hard-dollar gain for writers.”

Nothing pointless here, Alexander Armstrong does another live program. The live, interactive series asks viewers to vote along on opinion-based topics, whilst a celebrity panel go head to head to try and second-guess the audience at home’s choices. Audiences will be asked to download a free app in order to play along.

Filmed in front of a live studio audience, the series will be hosted by Alexander Armstrong with celebrity team captains to be announced shortly.

“Following hot on the heels of Brexit and the US election the show and app allows us to effectively hold 10 entertainment referendums per night! The viewers can tell us how they feel live, unfiltered and as one voice. The show will cut through the rhetoric to reveal the viewers opinions on some important topics – should Beckham get that knighthood and what’s the morally right thing to do after blocking the toilet at a dinner party?” – Executive Producer, Mike Benson

Alexander will have a ‘direct line’ to the viewers at home, ITV note, which he will use to put questions to present them with questions on everything from “How many affairs are acceptable in a marriage?” to moral dilemmas; “If you saw someone leave £50 in a cash point, what would you do?” and more topical subjects like “Do you think we should have another Scottish Referendum?”

“This is going to be a totally unique broadcasting experience – one where the outcomes of every round rest entirely in the hands of our audience who participate in real time. We’re effectively harnessing the voting public like never before to get instant referendums on the questions that really count: what is the sexiest regional accent, and what to do when you block the toilet at a dinner party: the big stuff”. – Alexander Armstrong

The 6 x 60 series will be produced by indie Chalkboard for transmission on ITV this spring.

It's a living that Factual entertainment channel Insight TV has completed production of its new 4K UHD adventure game show, Living Stone.

Produced in partnership with Dutch prodco Strix Television, Living Stone takes five couples on an adventure through Botswana. Contestants hike challenging terrains as they come face-to-face with the forces of nature: heavy thunderstorms, extreme heat and daily encounters with wild animals.

Throughout the show, they take part in games to compete to stay together as a couple. If they lose a game, it could mean they lose their partner, end up in a remote camp in exile or the competition. After eight treks, two couples’ face-off in a thrilling grand finale.

“Living Stone combines the format engine of the adventure reality genre with the breath-taking landscapes you would normally only see in wildlife documentaries,” said Roy Aalderink, CEO of Strix Television, in a statement.

Then new series will be shown in 4K UHD on Insight TV’s SVOD service from April 2 and on the platforms Vodafone Portugal, Vodafone Spain, Swisscom and Tricolor all in UHD. Insight TV is showcasing Living Stone at MIPTV in Cannes, April 3 – 6.

Heeeeeeeey Kids!

Kids BBQ Championship is back for season two with an updated format, more kid grill masters and new co-host Damaris Phillips joining returning co-host Eddie Jackson to lead the fiery action. This season, each episode finds four young chefs entering the outdoor kitchen for two rounds of red-hot challenges and the most successful competitor wins $10,000 and BBQ glory. With cooking challenges from baby back ribs and hearty chuck wagon meals to bison and classic pork and beans, the eight episodes also feature some of the biggest names in BBQ as guest judges, including Shannon Ambrosio, Diva Q, Jess Pryles, Roger Mooking, Kent Rollins and Michael Mixon. Kids BBQ Championship premieres Monday, May 1st at 8pm ET/PT on Food Network.

"The contestants may be small, but they have big grill skills - this isn't your parent's BBQ competition," said Didi O'Hearn, Senior Vice President Programming, Food Network and Cooking Channel. "The outdoor battles are fun, fast-paced and family-friendly."

Southern spitfire Damaris Phillips won season nine of Food Network Star, leading the Louisville native to her own daytime series Southern at Heart. She graduated from Jefferson Community and Technical College with a degree in Culinary Arts and then taught at the same school inspiring up-and-coming chefs to follow their dreams. One of five kids, Damaris learned to cook at an early age and was responsible for cooking one night a week for her large family. Damaris' modern twist on Southern classics and her signature wit pack a one-two punch in the kitchen.

Food Network Star season eleven winner Eddie Jackson is a former NFL player turned private chef, food truck owner and personal trainer. In 2015, he proved to be the ultimate culinary champion during Star, known for his charismatic personality, charm under pressure and spectacular cooking skills. Eddie's unique take on food combines his southern background with his passion for rich bold flavors. He has appeared on Food Network shows including BBQ Blitz, Chopped, Clash of the Grandmas and Christmas at Bobby's.

Viewers can meet the competitors and see fiery highlights as fearless kids man the grills at FoodNetwork.com/KidsBBQ and weigh in on their favorite moments on social media using the hashtag #KidsBBQ.

I got a couple from the newsroom. Someone who works in the Walgreen's photo department wants to know which hosts should we get for 3 new GSN programs.

Well, for D.I. Why,I would get......

Jamie Petitto. Why? Because she's funny. For Blast Your Past, I would go with.....

Maude Garrett. Maybe the latter and Jamie would compete in a pun-off battle. Gauntlet. Thrown. down.

You know who he is. The other question comes from someone at an antique store in uptown Grimsborough wanting to know who should host Cash Cab?

Pretty simple. Ben Bailey.

Stephanie Panisello, where can they send their grievances and praises?

Stephanie Panisello: Well Pierre, if you want to ask Pierre anything and everything, please send it to the email address below or write it via snail mail to:

Be sure to include a self addressed Stamped envelope when you write. Now back to the guy who would stop at nothing to wear Zubaz while boarding Gradius Airlines, Pierre Kelly!
Me: Thanks Stephanie. BTW, you look nice in Garanimals.
Worn out from news. Time for some fun. Can you....Sqramble This?

Hint: He used to a be a mayor of a California City. We'll give you the answer after this Google play Music Interlude because it's time to....

Prepare for a maximum of madness. Prepare.....for a madness of Madison. Prepare......for Madi2TheMax-imum March Madness. It's sad to see it end, but our Match Game mistress of impressionism is going to end on a high note.

Somebody should pay for the window on the ceiling. Anyway, here she is doing Trollhunters.

Welp, you got the answer and it is Dirty Harry himself.....

Now do you feel lucky punk?

With the Final 4 hitting April Fools Day......coincidence? Our lip sync Idiotesters Kristin & Danny couldn't wait for the madness to end. And this video proves it.

Now I don't know about you....actually I know some of you, but I'm getting more into Jackbox games and some think they're a connection to game shows....or is it? Let's investigate!!!!!

With YDKJ being the only tie-in to a 2001 game show, others think it's an element of a classic program.

Guesspionage-The high-low tossup questions on Card Sharks. Also the solo guess is somewhat similar to Power of 10 on CBS.

Drawful-Win, Lose or Draw or Pictionary.

Fibbage-To Tell The Truth, Liars Club or Balderdash.

Bidiots-The bidding element of TPIR, possibly the Cullen version.

Fakin' It-Dirty Rotten Cheater

Tee K.O.-Any reality competition show you can think of.

So next time you log on Twitch and want to see streamers on Jackbox Games, think of the elements of what a game show is.

That's it for this week. Today's consolation prize is a broken water heater that was once mistaken for a robot. Oh wait, isn't that Rosie from The Jetsons?
