Overtime #18: One & that's it?

VO: This is Overtime. More about the network you know & trust. Here now Pierre Kelly.

Me: How you is? Welcome to Overtime. All about GSN in s snap judgement. With the NCAA tourney already in, we continue the celebration of GSN being 20 Y/O with these 5 specials.

5. Game Show Flashback.
With Tyelnol grabbing a sponsor, GSN was going to act like 1994.....but didn't happen. To add in the insult to injury, Ben Gleib came up with the greatest game show moments ever. That was fine, but add in comics...and it's a ripoff of cable TV programs having comics talk about nostalgia. (e.g. "I Love The..," "World's Dumbest...")

4. World Web Games
Before Criminal Case & Candy Crush Saga hit the scene, players competed in internet games where Todd Newton called the action. Yes, this was before League of Legends and Skyrim became Twitch favorites. Can we get Elspeth Eastman & Brizzy Voices to revive it, please?

3. The Line
Remember the days of elementary school when your teacher was told to line up with your classmates. That was fun. But getting in a DMV-like line in Nashville while seeing the trivia dome for a chance to nail 8 T/F statements for a cash prize? Not fun.

2. Think Like a Cat
Believe it or not, it was the only GSN program thus far to give away.....A Million dollars. Chuck Woolery presided it and had a stunt/trivia/hidden camera format. If only Alana Grelyak could watch.....

And the biggest one & done thing.....

1. Big Bucks: The Press Your Luck Scandal
Say what you will about it. What happened in 1984 became history. A long game of PYL transformed itself into one ice cream truck driver winning $100,000. Since then, it became game show lore. It almost made a movie that starred Bill Murray. Didn't know that, did you?

Done with it. I'll return next month with more.....than one thing. Play on, playas.
