(theme fades out)

Happy National Back To School Day everyone, Pierre Kelly knowing all the things about GSN and since Sonic gets breakfast burritos for half price, Alabama Danielke gave me 6 for 2 bucks. Now that we got out of the way, let's get down to the business at hand. Let's start the first quarter and Hilty will salsa to spice things up here.

Despite losing 40% of its audience, The American Bible Challenge remained on top. With episodes of Feud, Bible was tied at 8, but Beat The Chefs slipped out of the top 10 and landed in the top 20. Now the toilet to barf at....

DOND kicked off the list along with Jeopardy, then came Feud and two-fers of Super Password and 25K Pyramid with Feud filling out the rest. That ends quarter one. Let Hilty cool off.

Now on to the next quarter. We know you liked the Pyramid, so we thought we'd do a review haiku for you. Here goes:

What a lineup! If you live in Orlando, buy your tickets now to relive a GSN Morning classic.

And did you know Bumbershoot is happening this month in my friend Raven's hometown of Seattle? Well, according to an article....

Triva night with Ken Jennings: The "Jeopardy" champ, geography geek and author of "Maphead" hosts a live trivia contest. "In honor of Seattle Center's anniversary," says the program, "questions will cover the past half-century of arts, music and letters. Jennings will personally select prizes for the winners and whisper words of comfort and understanding for the losers." Oh, sure. 7 p.m. Monday, Words & Ideas stage, Leo K. Theater.

And we've should've. Now we segue to halftime. Labor day weekend, we held a roller rink hokey pokey video contest to pick the one for our halftime video. After about oh, 97 submissions, it came down to the winner and here was the result:

Congrats to the winner and may the tradition of hokey pokies in roller rinks skate on. Alright, now to the Pyramid and I'm going to leave it to the posters to see what they thought. We start with:

"The only two issues I really have are minor. One, I don't necessarily care for all the zooming in on the board when they introduce the categories. Two, no returning champions.

Other than those two things, I find this to be a great and solid revival. Definitely one of the best GSN originals in quite a while and it will be appointment television. Mike does a good job also. I'd say this is practically the best version since 1988."

Agreed. Next....

"The gameplay is as close to the classic as possible, I like the building jackpot for 7 out of 7 (makes that more important than ever), Mike Richards is good, and I love the classic sound effects. Definitely the best GSN original I've seen."

mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Next one....
"I really enjoyed it. Great to see what they've done (and smartly not done) with it. I hope this lasts (with the Clark versions on mornings and late nights)."

And I hope it will. Next one.

"This version kicks Donnymid out the front door! Mike Richards is a little stiff as host, but I'm willing to give him a chance to get into a ":groove" and come into his own. I think Dick Clark, Bill Cullen, Bob Stewart and original announcer Bob Clayton are smiling from up above."

Heck yes. Next one....

"If it's not *quite* as great as the 70's/80's versions (an awfully lofty standard to live up to), it does come very close, and can only get better as it goes along. The show is very well produced, faithful to the classic versions while still looking and feeling new, and has gameplay that mostly sticks to the what made the classic versions so great while putting a new twist on scoring that I like. Mike Richards does have some room for improvement as host, but overall he's doing well so far. I think that Dick Clark and Bob Stewart are smiling down from Heaven after seeing this version. Job well done."

"They are looking down with similes, while Donny Osmond is asking hinmself 'What happened here?'"'

Nice. Now the 4th quarter.

The success of the American Bible Challenge made what it's call a day that will live as the best day GSN ever put together. Beat The Chefs is the weakest of the 2, and earlier in the first quarter, it sank out of the top 10, yet Bible stands alone as the man of the mountain. What is the success to the show? It's because of the Christian people who tune in to see tongue in cheek categories that all relate to the bible and nothing else. Being at the top of the totem pole meant watching 3 teams fight for charity about one subject, but it was the show that proved the naysayers wrong. Will it continue to retain the ratings throne, or will Feud take the crown away? Tune in Thursdays and find out.

And that's what the blog is all about. Thanks for getting in, moving out and shaking it about. Now turn around and....

Remember to get into our FB group page and tell us about it. Tweet me @ Johnny_Arcade, friend me as Pierre Jason Kelly or email me at coppockonsports@yahoo.com and when I'm on the GSN forums, I'm Gameheadz. See you guys later and play on, playas.
