GSN The Know is ready for you, a fresh new blog, what is going on, world? Let's do it. We're gonna change things up a bit by moving the 3rd quarter to the 2nd quarter. The rest remain unchanged as of now, because in the 3rd quarter, I have something special planned for you. Let's get the blog on a roll with the top 10 and not top 10 of June so far, so Hilty, would you be so nice to turn this baby on for me please.....
For the week of June 4th-10th, Family Feud was almost crushed by Fifth Grader who took only the 8 spot despite a Sunday showing. Now we hit the trash bags.
On top and bottom, Family Feud (Dawson) became a BLT stuck in the freezer for 48 hours with the likes of 25K Pyramid, the password twins, and Millionaire. Let's move on to another week.
Same like last time, but Fifth Gradet charged like a rhino on to 2nd place. Now the bin next to me......
Password Plus kicked it off, but it was mostly reruns along with Dawson's Feud, Super Password, and jeopardy! And now I get to click off and end this quarter.
And as we enter the next quarter, DWTS will be on your monitors next week, but did the public say something? Let's find out. We start with:
"Aww shoot... Dancing with the Stars instead of the classics. I would rather see those over Dancing with the Stars. Okay, if GSN started showing them at 11am I'd be okay. But not showing them at all is better. I guess I can watch TV Land or some other network. There are other shows out there."
good thing you didn't curse, because TV land could be a good buy. next one....
"This show better flop hard again. I can't stand this show and I wish it would just go away from GSN forever. Now I'm just waiting for them to put the stupid "bells and whistles" commercial back in."
I wished it did, but not in a millisecond. Next one....
"GSN just can't learn, can't they?
And we thought we were done with DWTS, huh? Guess we were fooled completely."
Maybe come August GSN could learn it's lesson here. And here's another one.
"I can certainly think of better performing shows if they were looking for a holiday marathon."
Maybe GSN would've done better if they used an all classics marathon. That would've made more sense. Next one....
"Hooray!!! So happy that DWTS is back on GSN! Watched every episode of seasons 4 and 12 on GSN when they appeared! Please keep running these DWTS episodes. There is enough time for all shows...the game shows and DWTS!!!"
Hooray this! It'll be a train wreck that makes you go "boo hoo hoo!" One more:
"I'll admit, I watch the show in first-run on ABC if there's someone I like on it, but again, not a place for GSN IMO. I'm surprised they're bringing this back at all considering how poorly it did. Unless this is just a way of burning off the acquisition. Another example of reality not working on GSN. If another popular show like this doesn't even cut it, maybe eventually they'll get the hint."
Some fine words have never been kinder. That ends the first half and Ray Anthony of "The Girls Next Door" on E! Has a dance number for you. I command you to get up out of your arses and move to this......
GSN, to me you are a network of games, but DWTS is what let you down. Not only Baggage took you to syndication, but left Sherriwed crying. But the addition of Steve Harvey made you feel right at home with the world. Karn Feud is enough. It's been wearing it out like a popular fad and all that's left is Combs? Come on. GSN, play more Dawson episodes we haven't seen yet! Your endless string of 1980 episodes makes is tune out with the fact that you put it on at 8 in the morning and you let them watch whatever else is on the tube. GSN, I'm telling you, please stop it with too much Feud, but despite what I just said, you continue to dominate the top 10 every week along with Fifth Grader, also a top 10 hit. GSN, I will tell you this just one time to acquire some classics and get the rest of the year along with new shows and seasons you have in the can off to make it number one on your list. Go ahead, GSN, win!! Win! WIN!

"Well if the show got ratings of around 100,000 in primetime on Saturday nights, I expect we'll see the ratings well below 100,000 during the day... especially on 4th of July when people are having cookouts. if they wanted to do any marathons at all, they should have done Harvey Feud or even The Newlywed Game... Heck i'll take Improv or Love Triangle over DWTS... "
Wrong! Both had 40 episodes and never had another season. So no marathons, naturally. Next one....
"Dancing with the Stars in the mornings is going to be horrible. I thought GSN was going to do this a little differently. We're probably only going to see DWTS get a fraction of the ratings classics do, including Password Plus and Family Feud in the bottom three there. This marathon starts at 9:00am/6am Pacific Time. No one is going to be watching this at 6am on the West Coast. It's too early. DWTS should just stay off.'

It's...The GSN THE KNOW....MID-YEAR....MIDTERM REPORT CARD!
That's right. We break down the year so far this year in GSN's history. First, the sucesses....
Family Feud and Fifth Grader topple teh ratings almost every week. The reason: The acquisition of Steve Harvey's version of Feud. It seems that he can take a calssic and make it his own. his radio show, his soon to be TV talk show and pretty soon, a star on the Hollywood Walk of fame has made it an empire he's making. 2 legends passed away and they were Dick Clark and Richard Dawson. GSN did no wrong by paying tributes to them, but the Richard Dawson tribute paid respects including the 1994 family Feud episode GSN has never seen in a long while. We said hello to 2 classics retuning: Password Plus and Super Password. It was a long time coming, but it was worth it and they perform poorly ewach week. Along with new to the network episodes of 25K Pyramid, Sherriwed and Baggage also did it with open arms. But now we get to the failrues.....
There were a lack of classics. There are 5 instead of more we used to have 2 years ago. And there's a Feud overload. I don't get it. Too much Feud made you wish youd watch an All-Sportscenter channel, but it wouldn't happen. Then there's block scheduling. Right now, tehre are 3 Feud nights, but we still have Flashback Fridays and Baggage Wednesdays, Sherriwed tonight and Fifth Grader on Church day. Rerun Abuse always kicks in, why? because they want to, but of course, save for the biggest failure....DWTS on GSN. It was like in-laws moving in your house for the holidays and you've decided to move out to another house for safekeeping. The ratings slid down each week like a child on a slide at a playground. For all this, I grade GSN for the first 6 months of 2012....
a c minus. If it needs improvement, wait until August and you'll see. Now, the predictions....
Lingo may be on the brink of cancellation, but i predict it may get a new season...
Baggage is coming to synidatcion soon, and it may knock the Stove Top stuffing out of.....whatever's on your antenna right now.
The American Bible Challenge and Beat The Chefs would become overnight runaway hits......
Pyramid may inject Fifth Grader and Feud out the top spots for good.....
War of the Roses may bomb quickly......
and finally, Real Life games may be pushed back, pushed back, pushed way back to next year. That ends the report card and I get to have a motivational speech as I start quarter 4.......
