Mind if I drop in?

Hello everyone, this is GSN The Know, I'm your blooming onion Pierre Kelly, and after I quickly scarfed it down, I say we get started. And yes, I created a Facebook group page. All you have to do is click here:

And we start quarter one by clicking Hilty's brain and telling us thf winners and losers of the April-May transition week.

Fifth Grader was almost swept by the top 3 medal count with Family Feyd taking the bronze, and except for the 5 spot, Harvey's vehicle rounded up the top 10, weeks before the Avengers hit the flick house. And the bottom of the monkey barrel looks like this:

Woolery's lingo kicks off the countdown along with TNG, but Super Password is scattered near the countdown, and 2 shots of Jeopardy! and the classics pencil the list in. That's the ratings report for you. And Hilty is going to take a shut eye.

Off to the next one. There's news regarding the newest version of Pyramid and my newest friend Scriptor will explain. Scriptor, print it!

"GSN's new version of Pyramid
Buzzerblog is tweeting that the pilot for GSN's new version of Pyramid will tape on June 11th, and if the show gets picked up, the remaining episodes will start taping on July 24th. No word on who the host is yet, Alex (Davis) is still trying to find out."

Oh joy. Pyramid on GSN? Maybe CBS or TBS would've kicked themselves for thinking that it could be a bit, but decided to pass on favor of talk shows and comedy hits like....House of Payne. As for the American Bible Challenge....

They are casting this month and the first week of June, so even in the cities they did not mention, you could still sign up via form.

Not to mention that Reality Wanted is doing the same, but mentions my home state. Yes! I'm definitely down for that show.

http://www.timessquaregossip.com/2012/05/jerry-springer-continues-with-baggage.html?m=1

Soon to get into syndication, Times Square Gossip mentioned Baggage as a guilty pleasure in Entertainment Weekly. Score! For those of you who have Cablevision and have GSN, bad news for you....

They are filing complaint against them. Yikes.....

And Todd Newton goes TPIR in Florida.

And that signals the end of the speed round and the start of halftime. Here is a song from 10 years ago in honor of our class reunion.....

Before we continue on with the second half, one other thing I forgot to mention.....

http://commercialappealapps.com/most/

Please get on the Memphis Most site at the link above and vote for the Memphis Roller Derby as Best Memphis Sports Team. If you want, you can put down your favorite MRD skater as Best Memphis Athlete by clicking on other and typing in the name of your favorite skater, and ending with Memphis Roller Derby. Put that comma on between the 2, like for instance....

Smackie Chan, Memphis Roller Derby

See what I did? Help them make us a Memphis Most finalist or perhaps a winner this year. Also, put my favorite group Push The Fish on the same site under Best Memphis musician/performer as well. Enough with the plugging stuff, let's get the second half underway, and it seems that Donnymid came to town last week and everybody was shocked with the news of how did this happen in the first place, starting with....

"Nice move, bad scheduling. I agree that they need to air this in the DOND slot, and one in primetime, instead of putting it in Dick's timeslots. Does anyone else think that there could have been some legal reason, given that this change happened so soon after Mr. Clark's passing? You have to wonder...."

I would have to agree with what the user said. After all, Donnymid in the morning and late nights is a bad move. If DOND would get out of the schedule for good, that would've made more sense. Here's another one....

"If I'm not mistaken, the 82-83 episodes should already be converted to Digibeta, since they showed these about 10 years ago. Anything from September 1983-August 1985 and late June 1986-November 1987 would likely need to be converted."

Of course, new to GSN episodes of what the user mentioned would make great ratings. Here's this.....

"I just saw a Buzzerblog post come up on my Facebook about this, so apparently Dick is gone from Friday nights, at least for now. I know his ratings have been struggling (and I believe the rerun abuse is largely to blame for that), but I think they're jumping the gun with Donnymid a bit here. The upside is, at least it isn't more Feud. Just sayin'....

Anyhow, I think the block scheduling needs to go. They would get much better ratings across the board if they showed a little bit of everything. Two a day for each incarnation of a show is plenty...that's a slate of at least (roughly) 20 different shows for Monday-Friday, plus whatever is shown just on weekends."

Why can't Flashback Fridays perform well? The problem is that Pyramid episodes under the Clark banner would have tough competition against NBA games, Phineas & Ferb and whatever else on tv. Otherwise, places you eat would have a field night over this weak looking day in the block scheduling era. Alright, how about another one?

"Hate to say it, but it sounds like they're taking their cues from Hallmark now....where a show can go away on just a whim. 'Watched it this week? Hope you enjoyed it (and better hope the ratings are commensurate) or else kiss it bye-bye!'."

I don't know if Donnymid could be a disaster or a top ratings go getter, but we'll see. Let's end the quarter with....

"If that's what they want to do, fine. I've noticed that is actually a trend tv wise altogether. Whereas when movies or new versions of tv shows started up, the old ones would be run somewhere on TV also, that doesn't happen anymore. The latest examples, Dallas is returning to TNT this summer and the reruns aren't airing anywhere and Dark Shadows hits the theatre today and the original soap opera doesn't see the light of day either (although I saw the 1 year weekly 90s version is airing somewhere). That's fine. I dont care. If that's what they feel they have to do, ok. Just TELL PEOPLE YOU ARE DOING IT! TELL THEM IT HAS BEEN REPLACED! I don't care if GSN replaced every MG airing now with the 98 version, axed the Paswords for Improv, and kicked Dawson and the other guys Feud out at 9 and replaced it with Harvey. Just let people know its happening and don't sit around saying 'ooh, it'll be back next week.' That's all."

It justs go to show why remakes of movies and tv shows can make things a little more modern-ish. Last quarter, and as the 2002 class reunion continues, time to drop dead.....

What does "Who's Still Standing?" and "Know or Go" from the Ellen Degeneres show all have in common?

Trap doors. Both don't come close to "Russian Roulette." Hosted by Mark L. Walberg of "Antiques Roadshow" fame, it's a trivia contest pitting 4 people and 6 trap doors. You read right. 6 trap doors. With each answer, the drop zone adds by one. Get one wrong and you pull the lever to find out if you stay here or get dropped by the red light surrounding your drop zone. If you survive, you may win $100,000, and for 2 seasons, it compared suspense with knowledge to prove why it was a hit.

And like a GED student, we drop out for this week. One last thing, I would like to give a shout out to Heather Ashcraft alias Smashcraft of MRD because she and I like game shows ever since the days of Barker on TPIR and Vanna mania on Wheel. What up, Smashie? Next week will be the last Monday, I will write, and the week after that, we revert back to Tuesdays. Meanwhile....

please add me on FB: http://www.facebook.com/#!/pierre.j.kelly

Follow me on Twitter: @Johnny_Arcade

and my email adress: coppockonsports@yahoo.com for any questions, praise or compliments. And diring the week, I'll even go to gsn.com/forums to see what's going on. Until then, play on, playas!
