Oh hi. Welcome to GSN The Know where every season brings out the best in what the network gives you. My name is Pierre Kelly and we're starting Sex & Romance month since we're in February. I'll pay homage to a long-lost relationship block in the 4th quarter later on. Right now, the Ratings Report. Malcontent, knock 'em out!

Survey says: Family Feud according to the voice of tv.com, they take the top 2 slots with Fifth Grader getting the bronze medal. However, Woolery's Lingo got #8 for the list with the Feud making a big sandwich to round out the top listers. Check out the bottom feeders:

To no surprise, DWTS ends up above Card Sharks, with the latter getting the last 4 slots for the week. And that makes you wonder why those episode leases always turn people away. But the highest position DWTS had for the week went to....

62 on the report card. It felt like a meltdown, but let's recap where it ended up for the whole airings....

(Malcontent leaves)

I'll take that as a no. Second quarter now and with Who's Still Standing gone, it's inspiration, Russian Roulette ended up on a list.....

http://www.screenjunkies.com/movies/movie-lists/5-of-the-weirdest-game-shows-ever/

Of weird game shows. Legends of the Hidden Temple, What Would You Do?, Iron Chef and.....a special called the Glutton Bowl round out the top 5. Weird, huh?

And it's never too late until after Valentine's day to vote for your favorites in the Reader's Choice Awards in the game show section. I'm only 2 months into the blog, but it'll be next year, but for now, pick your poisons, people.

And to get you all set for Baggage in syndication, 65 unaired episodes will be shown on GSN. Yay! Now, last week, I told you about the Bible Game coming to GSN soon, well.....

http://www.realitywanted.com/call/15802-game-show-network-casting-new-bible-trivia-show

They're actually casting it this time...for real. But coming up, we'll give your reaction on the Bible Game mess and the DWTS fallout. Now we go to halftime and as stated in Sex & Romance month, I wanted to give you halftime performances from harp players, and here's one. From the UK, it's Erika Kelly doing Flo Rida. Please, enjoy.....

Thank you Erika and now we head into the Third Quarter. Time to preach the gospel about this Bible challenge deal from the GSN Forums.....

"The concept sounds okay, but again, it doesn't seem right for the network. It seems like a poor match with Sherriwed and Dirty Lingo.

Do I want to know what else is coming down the pike???"

Perhaps DWTS reruns. Obviously yes. Next....

i already suffered from his "Grapes of Pain" from a week of Millionaire and as a permanent host of "Feud" i do not want to see him host a bible quiz show on GSN period i mean how about getting Bishop TD Jakes or Pat Robertson or Amy Grant (NBC's Three Wishes) as host wouldn't that be a better choice than Steve"i think i know about the Holy Ghost Scripture but in reality i don't Harvey?"

Maybe I should hire Jennie Finch, Jamie Alexander of Virtual Memory fame or....Mark Lowry of Gaither Videos? On to the next one.....

i so totally agree with you --------, this show should have been picked up on TBN(Trinity Broadcasting Network) or The Gospel Channel for that matter (BTW, i don't watch any religious networks in this modern-day 500 channel universe that were living in) let's just say hypothetically speaking if The 700 Club was on The Playboy Channel would you watch it on that network, or if WWE Smackdown or Raw was airing on Lifetime, Oxygen, or WE (Women's Entertainment) would you watch it on that paticular channel?"

My answer: No.

That segues to some DWTS Talk on the recent fallout and Buzzerblog has the answer....

"I was worried about that. Start off bad and it’s a downward ride to hell but it didn’t have to be the case.
If you were GSN, all you could hope for was a surge in ratings for week 2 and there might’ve been a chance of that but I guess it just wasn’t meant to be. The viewers have spoken and GSN is living a nightmare of epic proportions. In B4 firings.

Again no word on renewals yet and Dancing, which did provide some new to GSN content for a little while, is making the network look mighty ugly expecially during a time when GSN is a free preview for Dish Network this month. I never saw this show before but took time to actually watch it. I only hope in the future GSN makes wiser decisions because another move like this would destroy them. Life goes on."

Agreed. However one buzzerblogger puts a plan together....

"it’s shocking that the “DWTS” repeat ratings on GSN may have suffered the same fate as it were a week earlier when it debuted on GSN. if the DWTS reurns doesnt work out on GSN at some point. GSN should need to do in the future by either 2 options:

- have classics during the daytime with Orignals and Modern Acquistions airing in the primetime

- divide itself into 2 different channels with the help from Challenge TV and FremantleMedia (1 network for classic game shows and 1 channel for modern acquistions inculding GSN Orignals) so it show most of the Game Shows(from United States, United Kingdom and Austraila) that have seen or never been seen on GSN before"

Pick one, you can't lose. One has a long rant.....

"Stacking DWTS reruns in primetime and trumpeting it as Event Television was a bonehead move and I’m sure there will be much hand-wringing at GSN regarding that decision. My personal two-cents is that they should reposition the show in daytime to try to lure viewers in during the afternoons. Granted, no one probably cares about the midday numbers at GSN, but DWTS might be able to generate some heat there. Better that than being left in the cold all weekend."

Well, not that long, but we go to the GSN forums and we get this......

"This is awful. GSN isn't just making mistakes. They're making expensive mistakes."

GSN does make expensive mistakes. I wish I would tell you how many but I can't. How about one?

"In one word? DISASTER.
In two words? EPIC FAIL.

In five notes?"

This...(Blockbusters Cullen bonus loss cue)

There you have it. 4th quarter underway as we pay tribute to The Lover's Lounge....

"In 2001, GSN wanted a programming block focusing on relationships. The result; Lover's Lounge. With a catchy theme and hosted by Teresa Strasser, later of The Adam Carolla Podcast, Helen Keady, later of HSN, and sometime later until the end of the run, Todd Newton who a year later went solo with the 2-season PYL remake of Whammy! The block not only focused on questions about the loving games, but featured classic shows like The Dating Game, The Newlywed Game and 3's a Crowd. It even brought in game show personalities to stop by like Patti Deutsch of Match Game fame and many others. The problem was it was only on in the midday, and although they would never have another live block until GSN Live came on the scene, The Lover's Lounge set the trend for many other dating programs for years to come."
