Love is like a (BLANK) Match

Mario's been filming a brand new game show for The Game Show Network this week called 'Blank Slate' which is based of the popular board game. He's been posting a ton of cool videos from the set that we've compiled for you right here to check out. He finishes filming the show next week and it's scheduled to premiere later this year on GSN! Check out the videos below and be sure to keep a look out on more details for 'Blank Slate'!

To the Best Heavenly Boss

With his Wheel of Fortune retirement being imminent, Pat Sajak is taking time to honor the man who started it all: Merv Griffin.

The game show host celebrated what would've been Griffin's 98th birthday with a thankful tribute message: "Merv Griffin, the creator of Wheel of Fortune, was born on this date in 1925. I owe the man so much. He absolutely defied network executives by insisting on hiring an unknown local TV weatherman to take over this show in 1981. That was me, and I've been grateful ever since."

Sajak wasn't the first host of Wheel of Fortune, but he's the longest-lasting one. When the game show premiered in 1975, it was presented by Chuck Woolery.

Woolery ultimately departed the series, reportedly due to a salary dispute. In the biography of Griffin's TV endeavors, titled Merv: Making the Good Life Last, it's said that when NBC president Fred Silverman didn't want to hire Sajak because he was "too local," Griffin threatened to stop production if Sajak didn't become the new host.

Sajak is set to make his exit in the fall of 2024, 39 years after becoming one of the most iconic TV personalities.

It was then announced that he'd be replaced by Ryan Seacrest, a choice many fans weren't happy with. However, Sajak voiced his support towards the new host, tweeting, "I'm looking forward to my final season starting this fall, and then handing over the car keys to Ryan Seacrest in September of 2024."

People Don't Believe

You Won't Believe This, which aired in 2022, saw members of the public who fancy themselves as amateur sleuths hear unbelievable stories from a succession of 'suspects' - but only one of them is telling the truth. To help sort the fact from the fiction, all of the suspects are interrogated by experienced police detectives.

A Channel 4 spokesperson told TV Zone: ""Every year, Channel 4, like all broadcasters, makes decisions about which shows to rest, return or conclude to ensure we always innovate and offer viewers the best range of programming. The decision not to recommission You Won't Believe This which aired in 2022 was not financial."

Using tactics deployed on criminals, the contestants dig into the stories, prodding, probing and poring over every detail, giving them the grilling of their lives from the pressure-cooker environment of an interrogation cell.

It's up to the suspects to do a convincing job of selling their story. If the contestants manage to spot the truth, they're treated to a cash prize. But if they fail and pick a fake, the fibbing suspect walks away with the money.

You Won't Believe This is available to stream now on Channel 4.

Spin This!

The most popular syndicated game show in television history is now available to play on Roku. Play.Works added the Wheel of Fortune game, adding to its collection of Connected TV (CTV) games and original channels.

As of today, Wheel of Fortune can spin the wheel to guess letters to solve the puzzle board on Roku. The game adds a bit of a twist from the original show by including a “game within a game” as players digitally tour the United States for each completed level.

“Streaming video has ignited a CTV revolution and with games, we are seeing its potential explode,” said Jonathan Boltax, CEO of Play.Works. “CTV owners are digital natives and crave interactive content – they don’t just want to watch their favorite shows, they want to play them! As one of the most successful game shows of all time, Wheel of Fortune is an obvious fit for CTV. It is a crown jewel in the Play.Works’ CTV game catalog, the largest of any publisher with over 200 titles and growing quickly.”

Although the game is currently only available on Roku, Play.Works plans to launch Wheel of Fortune on additional compatible CTV platforms soon. Until then, check out some of Play.Works other games, including Crossy Road, Trivia Crack, Doodle Jump, and classic games from Atari.

Play.Works also hosts original free programming such as Like NastyaPW KidsNinja Kidz TV, and BRB Travel + Food. Combined, the Play.Works games and video library reaches over 250 million homes via Roku, Comcast, Cox, Vizio, LG, Samsung, and other pay television platforms throughout the United States and United Kingdom.

As if Master Minds had enough of them, they added one more. Look.

After 2 weeks of voting, it all came down to one winner. I'm about to open this envelope and the winner will get the golden tap shoes and join the other 2 as overall winners of the competition.
