The whatstrending.com Opening Toss-Up story.
Mazen Shehabi will start with......
"Still not over how Game Show Network booked my elderly aunts for a game show, had them call off work and doctors appointments to come sit in a room for 8 hours, and then sent them home with no explanation, no pay, and no opportunity to play on a gameshow.
So yeah..
Game Show Network is the worst, and the perfect example of what’s wrong with emotionless production companies "
Might as well sign up for The Price Is Right. Next is Kat Luby.
"I love GSN and watch it every day! But I was really disappointed to see Wheel of Fortune taken off and Deal or no Deal put in it’s place. I hope that Wheel will return soon!"
Yep, I wished they'd add in classic wheel from the eighties for an earlier time to accomodate Match Game after it. Next is Kathy Harris Jones.
"What’s up with The Chase. The reruns are never ending. When do they stop? Is there a new season on the horizon?"
Look at that question again. When do they stop? Here's the answer.
There. Does that make any sense at all? On to Carol Cummins Rogers.
"GSN is my favorite channel! I love America Says and Common Knowledge!!! But, if I won I would want to go on vacation with my family or take my share of the winnings and buy something for my house."
Isn't that cool? Bernadette Bevan will be next up.
"I would like to know what happened to Who wants to be a Millionaire. I watched it every afternoon with my lunch, I miss it, bring it back. Was it put on another channel and different time. I want to know!!!"
Gone a year ago because of ratings. That's the answer. Let's end the segment with Bert Grace.
"How come G.S.N. does not show Match Game 73, 75, 76, 78 and 79? I would like to see those episodes. This is the 40th anniversary of 79."
Buzzr already has them, not GSN.
Time for a gamestop Game break. Can you name the US National monument from this 1-star Yelp review?
"If I could give zero to this collection of 'Merican phat pants ice cream zoo I would. This is a disgrace to the park system. Dont go here. Stay in the hills or badlands instead.
I do not think it is patriotic to deface a mountain. Also the surrounding towns are horrible. I am pretty sure that the next gathering of the juggalos is taking place around here somewhere." — P. K.
I'll let you figure that one out after a Google Play music interlude because Svengoolie has made his annual return to the blog. Here he is for your entertainment.

The whatstrending.com Opening Toss-Up story.
The City of Philadelphia has marked a history in game shows. In the eighties it was......
By the nineties it was......
But today......the city of brotherly love has found the next best thing. Only this time......it's local.
This ain't community college. It's the ClassH-Room from Fox 29 in Philadelphia.
"The ClassH-Room" is a trivia-based game show for school teachers and students (grades 7-12). Each episode of "The ClassH-Room" features students and teachers from the same school competing against each other. The show is taped on selected Saturdays from September to May at the FOX 29 Studios in Philadelphia, Pa. The show premiered on FOX 29 in October 2018, and new episodes now air weeknights at 6:30 p.m.!
Although it differs from the age-old Knowledge Bowl for many years around the world, the show figures out who is smarter than each other. Like school, the teams guess words and phrases from drawings on a rotating whiteboard, spelling words in an elimination spelling bee, guessing songs from lyrics, questions about photos to study, guessing famous people from clues and more. The final Exam comes down to a 3-question street fight for a $500 purse to their school. And it's not to spend it on doctors, dentists, the ER, getting a new cell phone and such. Richard Curtis, who is a real life teacher according to our newsroom teaches this class that gives you a a party that is a battle of who's smart. If you live in the Philadelphia area and is either a school principal or authorized official, please go to this link:
If you are not either one of those, you can watch full-length episodes from anywhere on Youtube:
There's even Facebook:
Short clips on Instagram:
And on Twitter at:
See you in class......I think.
After this commercial word, Another trivia titan goes down. That's......when Game Show Live returns.

Madison: Some members of our viewing audience will receive..
Shudder. We shudder to think that Shudder has all the horror, all the suspense and all the thrillers starting at $4.97 a month. Because you don't have to fork over $10/month to get Netflix than to get this deal. Now back to our horror-iffic host, Pierre Kelly!
Me: Thank you Madi and welcome back. Later in the show, we look at why vegan chicken is free of meat.
Jason Zuffranieri's 19-game "Jeopardy!" winning streak was snapped on Thursday by researcher Gabe Brison-Trezise. Zuffranieri won a total of $532,496 across a total of 19 wins, ranking him among the upper echelon of "Jeopardy!" champs.
He currently holds the number-three spot on the list of all-time highest regular season winnings. It's a distant third, though, with "Jeopardy!" sensations James Holzhauer ($2,462,216 across 32 games earlier this year) and Ken Jennings ($2,520,700 across 74 games in 2004) both earning more than four times Zuffranieri during their winning streaks.
Zuffranieri is also tied for fourth place on the list of most consecutive wins with Season 22's David Madden. Only three players have won more: Julia Collins (20 games), Holzhauer (32 games), and Jennings (74 games).
"My mentality for 25 years was that I wasn't meant to be on the show for whatever reason: not smart enough, not camera-friendly, not interesting, whatever," Zuffranieri said in a statement. "To finally get a chance on that stage was a dream come true, and the level of good fortune I received is truly beyond anything I ever considered could happen."
The math teacher tried out a total of nine times before finally making it on the show for the syndicated game show's 36th season.
On to some Streaming stuff.
The Ellen DeGeneres Show gifted this Friday's audience members with a two-year HBO Max subscription — due to the fact that DeGeneres has teamed with the upcoming streaming service for three projects that have been ordered straight to series.
"I'm very excited to bring my new shows to HBO Max," DeGeneres said in a statement. "I don't know who Max is, but I can't wait to work with him."
One of the series DeGeneres has on tap for HBO Max, which launches in spring 2020, is Ellen's Home Design Challenge, in which eight forward-thinking designers are given the chance to push their creativity to the limit, all as DeGeneres weighs in on each challenge and provides humorous, colorful commentary.
"Some may be a stone's throw away …others may be in a tiny village halfway around the world…all of them are motivated to live up to Einstein's ideal of changing the world for the better," says the synopsis. "Ellen is a singular talent, and a powerhouse, creative triple-threat that we are lucky to have now bringing her talents to bear on behalf of HBO Max," HBO Max CCO Kevin Reilly said in a statement. "Ellen's flair for home design and matchmaking will most certainly inspire and delight — but HBO Max is full service, so as not to leave the kids out she's bringing them back to the hilarious misadventures of her childhood in an imaginative animated series."
Many international producers are bringing their wares to market next month.
MIPCOM, the International Market of Communications PRograms, is an annual trade show held in Cannes for four days in October.
Fremantle, ITV, A+E, and JTBC are the first to come out with their plans...
- FREMANTLE: Fremantle's reality-dating series Five Guys a Week follows one woman on a quest for a new romance. In the format, the lady invites five potential suitors to move into her house with her for a week, all at the same time, all under one roof. "Five Guys a Week is the simplest new format of 2019," says Rob Clark, director of global entertainment. Another highlight is Epic Gameshow. "Fremantle, as the home of game shows, has created a huge weekly event-viewing format for ITV in the U.K., made up of our incredible game-show catalog," explains Clark. "We've taken some of our biggest game shows such as The Price Is Right, Strike It Rich and Card Sharks, added in a marquee talent presenter in Alan Carr and given each show an epic new ending." Another gameshow Fremantle will be shopping in Cannes is Rolling In It, which comes from Over The Top Productions and has been commissioned by ITV in the UK. It sees three contestants play alongside some of their favourite celebrities in a bid to go home with a big cash prize. Elsewhere, it has The Family Brain Games, a quiz show which sets out to find the nation's smartest family. Created by Label1 for BBC2 in the UK, it sees eight smart families go head-to-head in quizzes, plus footage of them backstage. Fremantle also has the reboot of Supermarket Sweep, the Thames gameshow recently brought back by ITV2 in the UK and shopped by Leslie Jones for an American release.
- ITV: A number of ITV's formats will also be on show at the French coast, with award-winning Love Island heading the slate of new and returning formats. Among the new formats are Comedians Giving Lectures with comedians providing their own take on academics, Old Wife, New Life which sees ex-wives move in with newly-weds to help resolve old issues, and new quiz show The Switch. The new kids show Project Z, part structured reality and part gameshow set in an imaginary zombie world, and Embarrassing pets complete the line up of new formats. Capping off ITV's slate for the year are returning formats such as the physical gameshow Catchpoint and In For A Penny. Finally, famous TV duo Ant and Dec will also be travelling to Cannes with ITV to share the story of their 29 years in the entertainment industry.
- A+E/JTBC: Solo Wars is a dating gameshow that unfolds between 100 singles, evenly split between male and female, who compete for love and/or a cash prize. A game of strategy; participants must form romantic allegiances to progress to the next round. Each round ends with one, or multiple, eliminations, culminating in one couple proving their love for each other, and winning the prize money. Participants use psychological tactics as they battle their rivals and appeal to the opposite sex.

If you're looking for a nice, soothing, Norah Jones-ish singing competition to lull you to sleep… well, Rhythm + Flow ain't it, OK?
Netflix's new hip-hop competition series — debuting Wednesday, Oct. 9 on the streamer, with new episodes released on the following two Wednesdays as well — comes out of the gates strong, based on the new trailer above, with big names (Cardi B, Chance the Rapper and Tip "T.I." Harris serve as judges, with guest appearances from Quavo, Big Boi and Nipsey Hussle) and even bigger talent. We see the judges comb cities like L.A., New York, Atlanta and Chicago looking for diamonds in the rough, with the best contestants facing off in fierce head-to-head rap battles to win a spot in the final rounds.
Their desire is real ("I need this," one contender admits through tears), and the judges offer them some tough love along the way to help shape their sound. The show has a distinct edge to it, too: After one particularly combative rap battle, guest judge Snoop Dogg announces, "This ain't The Voice, mother******!"
And in case you didn't hear.....
Dancing With the Stars contestants Ray Lewis and Cheryl Burke will be hanging up their dancing shoes and not cutting a rug on Monday night's episode of ABC's reality dancing competition.
Entertainment Tonight is reporting that the couple withdrew due to an injury suffered by Lewis. It was later revealed to be an aggravation of a lingering injury to the tendons in his feet. As a result, no one was sent home by the judges.
Last week, NFL star Lewis and ballroom dancing champion Burke found themselves as one of the two bottom couples. The judges ended up saving them and instead sent home legendary Supremes singer Mary Wilson and pro Brandon Armstrong.
In the days leading up to the couple's reported withdrawal, Lewis posted a photo on Instagram saying, "Make time for what matters. Take care of yourself. Mind, Body, and Spirit. #NoExcuses." Meanwhile, Burke posted a photo with the caption, "Hair courtesy of @kelseygusto, glam courtesy of @crabichuk, deep thought courtesy of the upcoming live show. #DWTS."
