VO: This is GSN The Know. The most informed and entertained blog in the United States of America. Now, from the WIlton-North building, here is the man about games, Pierre Kelly.

Me:  This right here is The Know. Even though we can't predict the future like a facebook guy used to do it, neither can GSN, but the network did a lot of future advancements, and some didn't work, while some did. So let's take a past tense of the last 7 days in a present time and start right now with......

 The whatstrending.com Starting Line.

Winsanity came in last week and with an okay start in the ratings, I thought I'd take the time to review it in a  haiku.....

Review......Revue.

Robert Siedelman says.....

"I got around to watching Winsanity and....it just flat sucks. It's got a good game mechanic, but everything else about it is just awful. Donald Faison is bad, the audience participation is forced, especially the awkward interviews, the announcer grinds on my last nerves much like Fran Drescher did, and the execution of it all is lacking, much like any Barry Poznick production out there. Winsanity should have been called Inanity instead."

Hmmm......Maybe Jordan Haas says this:

"Winsanity is still very fun. My suggestion still remains - I think they need a better set to show off the audience and make them part of the set, along with better blocking.
I'd also love to see more physical prizes on set, even if it's just an envelope to show "vacation tickets".
I'm also a little confused by the risk/reward when it comes to a correct/incorrect answer.
If they run the board, they play for 2 cars and 10k (one for the audience, one for them plus the previous prizes) otherwise it's $10,000 (5k for them 5k for an audience member)
But I'm loving the play along with this. It almost reminds me of Pay the Rent on The Price is Right."

I think it's a cool hit for the network. Even Casey Abell says.....

"Amid all the hooting and hollering, the actual gameplay proceeds at the pace of a sedate snail. It took a half-hour to get through one contestant and ten facts, which meant plenty of loud filler. But Winsanity is not a lot slower than Millionaire, after all. And it's more fun."

I'm hoping Winsanity will stick around for thr network.

Welcome back, boneheads, er , gameheads. After all, I'm such a bonehead. Anyway.....

It's a fact!

Steve Harvey Family Feud occupies 16 of 21 hours of GSN primetime.

That's about 16 out of 21. the other 5 do not. There's GSN in your book. GSN's primetime/total day average for May 30-June 6 was 557,000 total viewers and 338,000 18-49 viewers. That sets the record that would never be broken. But if all 21 hours of Feud would take over.......it's a meltdown for the network.

So how did Winsanity got here? Here's the timeline of how the show went from concept to presentation.

November 18, 2014: Winsanity reaches light-of-day through press release (along with Steampunk'd, Hellevator and multiple others). The original format had only seven numerical facts and they were emphasized as "compelling and surprising".

March 10, 2015: Winsanity green-lit for a pilot on the same day as Hellevator and an "unnamed" Skin Wars spin-off were.

April 2015: I had given Winsanity a "Medium/High" chance of making it to air and a high confidence level for success (I still stick to my high confidence level).

October 22, 2015: GameShowNetworkNews first reports Winsanity would make it to the GSN airwaves in 2016.

November 18, 2015: Donald Faison announced as host of Winsanity.

November 18, 2015: GSN announces via press release that 40 half-hour episodes had been ordered and production would begin in early 2016.

January 22, 2016: Episodes of Winsanity scheduled to begin taping on February 6th.

March 8, 2016: Donald Faison appears at GSN's 2016-17 programming upfronts.

April 8, 2016: First at GameShowNetworkNews, Winsanity given June premiere.

May 12, 2016: Winsanity officially given June 9th premiere date.

Mid May 2016: GSN releases full episode of Winsanity to very select audience.

Late May 2016: GSN shifts all advertising focus to Winsanity

June 8, 2016: GSN announces live, at-home play along competition to Winsanity.

June 9, 2016: Primetime premiere at 9pm ET!

Well, here we are after one week of Winsanity and this game may be off to a good start.

Here was something Trisha Hershberger was jealous for.....a naked episode of Idiotest. I'm not lying. A naked episode of Idiotest. How did it do? First and foremost, Screener took this screengrab of the show itself.....

But Scott Rahner of GSNN BlogSpot says this. Scriptor?

http://www.qwizx.com/gssfx/usa/love-tally2.wav

"GSN is suppose to be a family-friendly network. Surprisingly, I have been told that a lot of families sit around and watch Skin Wars. The main purpose of Skin Wars is about art and body painting on nude models. On Skin Wars, nude models are anticipated. Does Idiotest go too far?

I sincerely believe this is a call for attention from Idiotest, a call I do not believe is necessary. Idiotest is suppose to feature rivalries, like "Cat Lovers versus Dog Lovers", "Democrats versus Republicans" and "USC versus UCLA." But nudity? Both teams are nude and there's no rivalry.

I have to give a little mention: The purpose of this nude episode of Idiotest is for the internet to be talking about it in advance, which is what is happening here. If it were just a normal episode, we would not be discussing Idiotest now. We fell for it."

Can you say "Break the Internet," boys & girls?

Oh and one more thing:

Changes:
*The $25,000 Pyramid will air weekdays at 10:30am; replacing Card Sharks

So it wasn't forever. It was just a month on break. So Pyramid fans, your classic one has returned.

Now the 2nd intermission presented by swagbucks.com. All the way from North Carolina, Rebekah Todd with an easy acoustic ditty.

And let's prove the 3rd period right.

Remember when Cable had more than 13 shows? Yep, it was watch a show and then see another and another without any repeats. Nowadays, GSN had 13 2 weeks ago. Yep. 13. Look at TV Land. It has 15. USA network has a staggering 19 shows. TNT has 10 not counting movies and sports, of course. But why 13 for GSN? Well, look at this if you will.

 Family Feud (39.1%)
Deal or No Deal (11.9%)
The Newlywed Game (9.4%)
Baggage (8.0%)
Card Sharks (5.4%)- surprised more than Idiotest and Skin Wars?
Idiotest (5.1%)
Skin Wars (5.1%)
Chain Reaction (3.6%)
Lingo (3.6%)
Match Game (3.6%)
Catch 21 (1.8%)
Press Your Luck (1.8%)
The Pyramid (1.8%)

Feud, of course outlasts the others which is less than 25%. GSN goes from anywhere in the range of 13-16 a year. But 13 will not be the same number of shows they'll air for weeks to come.

We at GSN The Know would like to express our condolences to those in the Orlando nightclub shooting attack and the death of Christina Grimmie, a young singer. May God pull them through. Let's learn when to love each other and not hate anybody. In the meantime....
