The Starting Line.
Idiotest premiered last week and here were the results.
The Idiotest premiere in the 9pm (ET) hour averaged 452,000 total viewers, a 13% drop hour to hour. The 9pm episode scored 461,000 total viewers, which had a 10% drop from The Chase. The 9:30pm episode scored 442,000 total viewers, a 4% drop from episode to episode.
Idiotest proved very well in the 18-49 demographic. The 9pm (ET) episode doubled in 18-49 viewers from The Chase, with 143,000 18-49 viewers. The 9:30pm Idiotest episode had 157,000 viewers in the 18-49 demo, a 9% gain from the previous Idiotest episode.
Still, it's a modest hit and if the ratings climb upward, we may even have a bigger hit.

"I predict Shop Til You Drop will probably get confined to mornings soon."
"I predict Shop may just go away for good. It has had a good 9 months on the schedule but has not really produced great numbers. Plus, now Shop is limited to the 5pm hour, three days a week. I could see GSN trying Let's Ask America in the 5pm hour (if they can) if it does well 1) at noon and 2) after Deal or No Deal in early daytime.
"I think classics will return to the 3am slot."
I do not see that happening in the near future. The last ratings we saw, Harvey Feud and Baggage were pulling respectable numbers there, considering the time slot. Plus, GSN has not touched latenights too much in the past two years besides adding Mind of a Man reruns this past Spring, which are still there.
If GSN had interest airing classics in the 3am hour, they would have done it by now. There's not much to lose anyway."

Say it isn't so. One classic out of here. One that isn't outta here, too. All we got is 2 1/2 hours of classics and Whammy! per day and that's it? Well, one poster on a forum site said....
"Before I know it, GSN is closer to removing pre-1990 material completely, and I am closer and closer to cancelling my subscription to GSN and returning to recording and watching TPIR on a regular basis."
But GSN needs to act up. So I took out a pencil and pad a wrote a poem for you....

Maybe Shop could get another chance by adding in the Lifetime run. One poster said.....
"I've asked a question many times, especially on a competing forum site, only to be constantly ridiculed and belittled(as most newbies are). I've quit posting there, but will ask here...When GSN runs the 18th repeat of Chain Reaction, aren't the associated costs cheap as dirt? I understand there's residuals for host, producer, etc., but when it's in it's 10th year of reruns I'd guess the declining scale has gone pretty low. Overall my thought, if this is true, why pay a distributor $$$ for a 40 year old program when you can get better ratings from an in house cheapo? Personally I'd like every available classic on daily from 8-5, but obviously this ain't gonna happen."
Maybe GSN could get companies on the phone and get the classics back. Who knows? But sticking with classics, consider this.....
Match Game averaged 100,000 to 293,000 total viewers in the 8-9am ET hour.

Once upon a time.....somewhere in Los Angeles......
9 remaining body painters started out with Bald-headed pieces based on countries. Dutch created Switerland, because it's a dutch country, while Sean chose the beaches of Jamaica. Natalie took the romantic country known as France, Nicole getting Mexico, south of the border and Shannon got Russia, the country that rivals our country. Mythica went in with South Korea, Gear chose the most recent world cup country Brazil while Angela went with our country. Felle finished it off with India and the challenge was over. Nicole was victorius in doing so and with that, she decided to chose the first background.....by herself. The whole gang went into a supermarket where instead of shopping, they did a challenge. Emma Carmack became guest judge and the challenge began. Nicole got sweeter with candy, while Natalie tasted the wine. Then, Dutch poured on soup while Sean poured in a bowl of cereal. Gear went into the fruits section while Felle picked out the bread section. However, there was one problem. One model got sick halfway through the challenge. It wasn't very easy, but Felle stood his ground and went for it. Shannon took her vegetables, Angela got a soda from the vending machine and Mythica gave flowers. The crown went to Natalie, Geat & Dutch, but with Angela & Mythica in dire straits......Sean gets thrown away like bad milk spoiled.
...and the rest lived happily ever after.....until the next episode.

And there you have it. Hopefully this week, you may watch something else other than Skin Wars which so far had 567K viewers as of that episode I recapped for you, but who knows if more viewers come in?

Remember this game?
Sure you did. It was Dumbville. A facebook game that became the predecessor to Idiot Test. The app became so popular, GSN made it into a game. But as for Dumbville, it was what the premise was. It was easy puzzles but with a twist to it. All you did was earn oodles for stuff. The mose dumber you are, the less oodles you got. Idiotest has people playing for cash and no cash is awarded if you were dumb. So take my advice, remember this game as a way of thinking it was the one that later became Idiotest and you'll see why.
