VO: This is GSN The Know. The most informed and entertained blog in these United States of America. Now, from the WIlton- North building, please welcome the man about games, Pierre Kelly.
Me: Let us gather here to entertain you, inform you and sometimes trickle you with what GSN has in store. A cooler midweek day means it's a nudge from winter, but we're still in March and the ratings will put you to warp speed. Hilty?
Family Feud came from 1-9, but Catch 21 finished 10th to prevent a shutout. Now the ones slowed down.
Blockbusters, P+ and Shop were all tied in 239th, but P+ was sandwiched between Match Game. MOAM and 1. vs. 100 were next, but 2 sandwiches came in, one was Match Game in between Baggage and another for the latter in between The Pyramid. That's the first period, beam us up, Hilty.
After the break, 2 legends are gone. Plus, a moment involving one of them. Stay tuned.
(song fades out)
(quick fade out)
Back again and 2 legends are gone.
First off, Sheila Macrae, an actress and the daughter of Meredith herself passed away this week. Like her daughter, she too was on game shows, including the ABC version of Password. She was 92. But the big story was this......
Yep. Mr. Starcade himself was gone. Geoff Edwards is forever known for hosting Jackpot!, Play The Percentages, The New Chain Reaction and 2 versions of Treasure Hunt. He was 81. Many people know him as a legend in the game show world and was a radio DJ in Los Angeles. In the 3rd period, we'll give you one of our best moments from him.
As for MOAM, people have seen enough of the show and the network decided to pull the plug next month with more new ones over the summer. The program hasn't averaged above 300k since the show first began. What made the decision is because of the format that didn't make sense.
On a more lighter note, let's do.....
The GSN Closet. Behind the mind of a GSN is what they think about game shows. Here now is the words from these people.
And we get the 2nd intermission presented by swagbucks.com. "Happy" by Pharrell Williams may not have won an Oscar for it, but what if Star Wars invaded it. Have a look.
Now the 3rd period. Geoff Edwards' hosting on Treasure Hunt was a test despite no cue cards to read on air, but the pressure was on him and this moment to live by proves that.
That kids, is it. Today's blog is presented by USPS. They still do the mail. Just look at them.
