Gladiators legend Jet says the hit TV reboot has snubbed past stars by not inviting them back.

The iconic game show, aired on ITV from 1992 to 2000, has returned to BBC1 with Saturday night viewing topping eight million.

Despite loving the new show, Jet said: “It would have been nice for there to have been a nod to each and every one of the originals to be guests or do commentary or punditry. We all still have so much to give in our experiences. It’s not bitter chips, but maybe it is!”

Jet, real name Diane Youdale, earned a legion of fans thanks to her gymnastic skills and dominance of the ring game Hang Tough. Diane, 53, admits part of her didn’t want the show and its stars such as Giant, Nitro, Diamond, Viper to be as good as the original.

But she says it has proved to be just what Saturday night TV has been crying out for. Speaking on GladPod: The Gladiators Podcast, she said: “There was a part of me going, ‘Don’t be as good, don’t be even better, please.’ Everyone had been saying ‘It won’t be as good.’ It was and then some.

“I had this experience for the first time of being someone in their living room getting behind these Gladiators. It’s true to the original, like, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it, and that’s exactly what we’ve got.”

This month's recipent:  Nerdlyweds. Since we're in February, I thought I'd focus on a couple that are not only married cosplayers, but  gamers. One wears heart glasses and the other wears regular glasses, but they game together and sometimes solo if one is away. Here's how they do it.

Just like Richard & Sarah did for Skywalking Though Neverland, the Nerdlyweds do gaming. But they also do Tiktok as well.

@nerdlyweds "Ain't that a kick in the head?" We played @residentevil 4 Remake's Chainsaw Demo co-op on @twitch! The commentary really helped make it! #residentevil #biohazard #residentevil4remake #biohazard4remake #re4remake #nerdlywedsgaming #splitcontrols ♬ original sound - Nerdlyweds on Twitch

But if you want to see them live, it's this.

Valerie Bertinelli's departure from "Kids Baking Championship" is not a cut-and-dry case of Food Network firing the "One Day at a Time" alum from her role as co-host and judge of the show. Rather, it's the aftermath of the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned channel deciding not to renew Bertinelli's larger exclusive deal with the network when it ended in 2022, sources tell Variety.

Bertinelli signed a multi-series deal with Food Network in 2018, which expired in 2021. The pact was extended for an additional year and came to an end in 2022, when the currently airing Season 12 of "Kids Baking Championship" was taped back to back with Season 11.

Bertinelli has co-hosted and judged 'Kids," a spinoff of Food Network's larger "Baking Championship" competition franchise that includes holiday and seasonal iterations, alongside Duff Goldman since it first debuted on Food Network in 2015.

"Her deal expired, they opted not to renew it. They could have come to me with an offer just for 'Kids.' They never did. Simple as that," Bertinelli's longtime manager Marc Schwartz told Variety Tuesday.

According to insiders, the choice to not renew Bertinelli's deal in 2022 was made by development execs that no longer work at the network: Former president Courtney White exited Food Network in March 2022 ahead of the close of the Discovery-WarnerMedia merger, followed soon by her replacement Jane Latman in December 2022. Betsy Ayala has been in the chief post since that time.

Bertinelli's deal ended more than a year ago, and she has no projects currently filming or in development at Food Network. A source close to the situation says an offer was not made by the network for Bertinelli to continue as co-host on "Kids" because Food Network was led to believe that if it didn't also renew her exclusive multi-series overall deal, Bertinelli would not accept an offer to continue on "Kids." (Food Network opted not to renew Bertinelli's overall deal amid budget cuts and mass layoffs across Warner Bros. Discovery in its post-merger consolidation.)

"There were never any talks, so no talks could be stalled," she said in response to a headline that indicated she wanted to continue on the cable net but talks stalled. "I got an inkling I might not be asked back when I saw I was not in the holiday specials. I got a text by a third party on Friday that told me I would not be back. LOL I was basically ghosted.".

She went on to write that "I have zero ill will toward anyone at FN, I enjoyed every single moment I worked for them, and they are all lovely, kind, hard-working people. And I understand business is business. But I won't tolerate lies. I am a lot of things, but I am not greedy, nor am I a liar."

On Jan. 20, Bertinelli shared a video on IG saying how it "really hurt my feelings," that she was dropped from the show. "I know it's not supposed to. Logically, I know it's business [and] budget cuts, right? But it really hurt my feelings to know that I'm not going to be asked back to be on Kids Baking Championship really sucks."

Bertinelli acknowledged her co-host and the crew from Kids Baking Championship and gave some words of encouragement to all the bakers taking on the challenge.

"Oh my God, these people work so hard to give you an amazing show," she said. "And all of those kid bakers that I got to watch grow up: I feel so lucky. And to all the bakers [who] are coming in for the new season, even though I won't be there, I'll be with you in spirit. I just want you to remember this: You are there for a reason [and] you're some of the best bakers in America right now and if you don't make it to the next round, please always remember [that] it's not because you're not a good baker, you just had a bad day."

CBS Media Ventures' syndicated game show The Flip Side, hosted by Jaleel White, is set to launch this fall on CBS Stations.

It is the first official syndicated greenlight for next season. Debmar-Mercury had previously announced a Ken Jeong talk show targeting next fall. It has not been decided yet what stations and what time slots The Flip Side will run on as the CBS Stations have duopolies in most major markets. CBS Media Ventures' The Drew Barrymore Show was recently renewed for next season on the CBS Stations.

"Game shows have been a bright spot in syndication — and network prime-time — the last few years," said Wendy McMahon, President and CEO of CBS News and Stations and CBS Media Ventures in making the announcement. "Their loyal viewers tune in more times per week than any other genre. We are excited to bring a fun concept, combined with the exceptional comedic skills of host Jaleel White, to the marketplace with The Flip Side. It's a perfect addition to any station's lineup with the flexibility to play in multiple time periods or a game show block."

The Flip Side is described as a fresh take on a traditional game show. The easy to play-along game show pits two teams of players against each other to test them on how they think two different groups of people feel about the same issue. Teams choose from multiple choice answers, and whoever has the best intutition on human behavior will find themselves richer.

"I have had fun being a celebrity contestant on numerous game shows, but I've always really wanted to be the host, giving people money and making their day!" White said. "When I first heard this concept I immediately wanted to be the ringleader of this entertaining, funny game show where the only requirement is being in tune with human nature."

And now tech news with Corey "TallBoy" Sanders.

Remember "Havana" by Camilla Cabello? Well, I'd ask the queen of Wonderama herself, Sophia Angelica to find out if it went bilingual. Watch.
