Me: Welcome to Game Show Live! Let's get right into it with.......

The  Talking Through The Medias opening toss up story.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and After Midnight are heading into the endzone on Super Bowl Sunday.

CBS' two late-night shows will air on Sunday, February 11, after the late local news.

The Late Show has previously aired special episodes after the Super Bowl game in 2016, 2019 and 2021. In fact, in 2016, the show got the postgame timeslot. Guests in 2021 included Robert Downey Jr., Tiffany Haddish and Metallica.

It obviously marks the first time that late-night game show After Midnight, hosted by Taylor Tomlinson, will be coming after the big game.

The first week of After Midnight on CBS brought in viewing numbers that are, well, about what would be expected for a network show airing at 12:37 a.m. in 2024.

The show, an expanded and updated take on Comedy Central's @midnight that's hosted by Taylor Tomlinson, averaged 579,000 same-day viewers for its first three installments, according to Nielsen. The Jan. 16 premiere drew 686,000 viewers, based on preliminary figures, which would mean the subsequent two episodes averaged about 525,000 viewers.

Delayed viewing numbers are somewhat rosier: After three days (and not including streaming), After Midnight rose to 819,000 viewers for its first week. Its DVR lift of 240,000 viewers is more than three times bigger than that of The Late Late Show With James Corden (77,000) in the 2022-23 season..

Dry January may be long gone but it's time to find out who stayed sober and who got drunk. It's the Yay & Yawn of January!

The Yay: The UK Traitors. Viewership on BBC one and Iplayer toppled over 5 million for the finale. That's more than an average day on ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 combined.

The Yawn: Holey Moley, The Prank Panel and the Parent Test. A hat trick full of dead shows for the alphabet network.

Broadcaster TV Azteca has sealed an agreement with Fremantle to bring the revamped version of the Family Feud franchise to Mexico, a format that has been present in the international market for 48 years.

Albeit without a production schedule or a defined premiere date, Family Feud represents the Mexican company's commitment to programming powerful entertainment formats such as gameshows and reality shows, according to Azteca executives.

"We are excited to bring Family Feud to TV Azteca screens. This programme has been a success around the world, and we are sure the Mexican audience will enjoy the excitement and fun it offers," said Adrián Ortega, content director at TV Azteca.

The Family Feud format is based on a competition between two teams who face each other in various rounds to guess the most popular answers that 100 people have given to questions of all kinds.

The TV Azteca deal comes soon after the Mexican network acquired UK gameshow format The 1% Club from BBC Studios.

Coty Cagliolo, head of Fremantle in Latin America and general director of Fremantle Mexico, added: "This collaboration with TV Azteca marks a new chapter for Family Feud. We are excited to see how the audience connects with the show."

Vivica A. Fox is jumping into the kitchen for her latest unscripted series. The Independence Day star is set to host a new food competition series.

She has teamed with Rainbow Heads Productions and Woody Woodbeck, a producer on Bravo's Southern Hospitality, to develop Family Recipe Rumble (w/t).

The series will follow two families battling it out for culinary supremacy and a $10,000 prize. They will put their family recipes to the test, while sharing their stories.

The format will include three courses, where the families share their recipes on classic favorites. While they are preparing, viewers learn about their lives, their culture and their sweet and savory creations along the way. Then Fox invites her special guest judges to taste the results and award the grand prize of $10,000 to one lucky family per episode.

Rainbow Heads, which was founded by former Discovery exec Jodi Tovay and 1000lb Sisters exec producer Daniel Keller-Bradshaw, is currently taking the project out to networks and streamers.

"This isn't your typical food competition show," said Fox. "Recipes passed down by generations sometimes tell the story of a family's rich traditions, that nourish not only the appetite but the soul. We hope to show that meals made with love, and a little bit of friendly competition, can be satisfying to everyone who watches."

"We are thrilled to be working with Ms. Fox and veteran executive producer, Woody Woodbeck, on this project." added Tovay and Keller-Bradshaw. "The goal is to showcase that culture and tradition shine through with each family's passion for cooking; serving the viewer with a truly unique culinary competition experience."

Melbourne is set to become the backdrop for an exciting new quiz show, 'The Quiz with Balls'.

This unique game show is a creation of Eureka Productions, known for their work on 'The Amazing Race', 'Farmer Wants a Wife', 'Holey Moley', and 'Stars from Mars'.

It is being produced for a prominent U.S. television network.

The show will be filmed at Melbourne's Dockland Studios, with production scheduled from January 30 to February 5. A total of ten episodes are planned.

'The Quiz with Balls' introduces an innovative format in the quiz show genre. The game involves five contestants, typically friends, family, or colleagues, participating as a team. They will compete for a substantial cash prize by answering a series of quiz questions. Each question presents six possible answers. Each answer is connected to a large ball, which rolls into motion once all answers are chosen. If a contestant selects the correct answer, they will be safe as the ball halts in time. However, an incorrect answer means the ball will collide with the contestant, sending them plunging into a swimming pool below.

The show is hosted by a renowned American stand-up comedian, improviser, impressionist, and actor, noted for his roles in major films and TV shows.

Chris Culvenor, Co-CEO of Eureka Productions, praised the show's innovative design.

"The Quiz With Balls has a simple but genius format mechanic, combining the fun, excitement and scale of a big physical challenge show with the play-along and jeopardy of a high stakes quiz show," he said. "We are excited to expand our successful relationship with John de Mol and the team at Talpa for another of their brilliantly original, breakout formats, which we feel certain U.S. audiences will love."

The collaboration with Talpa Productions, the company behind the show's success in the Netherlands, marks another significant partnership for Eureka Productions.

He's back everybody!

Guy Fieri will be returning to Food Network on Feb. 18 for another installment of "Tournament of Champions".

The culinary competition show will debut at 8 p.m. ET/PT and will air its final episode on April 7.

"As the wildest, most anticipated culinary competition year-after-year, you know that we had to go big for Season 5," said Fieri in a statement to press. "So here's the deal, in order to win, you've gotta either be a past champ or take down a champ, as all the winners from previous seasons are back to defend their titles. We're crankin' up the already fierce competition with heated culinary rivalries, wild cards, and of course, off-the-charts flavor on 'Tournament of Champions V!'"

"Viewers cannot get enough of this exhilarating, unpredictable competition as 'Tournament of Champions' is consistently Food Network's highest-rated series, with nearly 11 million viewers at the edge-of-their-seats last season," said Betsy Ayala, head of food content for Warner Bros. Discovery, in a statement to the press.

The chefs representing the East Coast are: Eric Adjepong, Karen Akunowicz, Kelsey Barnard Clark, season 2 champion Maneet Chauhan, Tobias Dorzon, season 3 champion Tiffani Faison, Amanda Freitag, Jose Garces, Stephanie Izard, Marc Murphy, Britt Rescigno, Jonathon Sawyer, and Dale Talde. The chefs showing off their chops from the West Coast are: Carlos Anthony, Shirley Chung, season 4 champion Mei Lin, Antonia Lofaso, Crista Luedtke, Brian Malarkey, Shota Nakajima, Joe Sasto, Adam Sobel, Casey Thompson, Jet Tila, Michael Voltaggio, season 1 champion Brooke Williamson, and Lee Anne Wong.

Before the new season begins, fans can get even more competition on Tournament of Champions: The Qualifiers, on Wednesday, February 7th and 14th at 8pm, as 16 chefs go head-to-head to win four coveted 8th seed slots in the tournament bracket. Plus, on Wednesday, February 14th at 10pm catch up on all the action from last year in an hour-long special Road to Tournament of Champions V.

The East Coast is listing only 13 competitors to the West Coast's 14. It is suggested that the 14th from the West Coast is Darnell Ferguson, who appeared on the four previous seasons and is currently on trial for DV and has been otherwise rendered persona non grata by Food Network.

Welp, it's official.

The Traitors is making the jump from word-of-mouth hit to quantified success.

The Peacock unscripted series is set to make its first appearance on Nielsen's streaming charts for the week of Jan. 15-21. The show had about 384 million minutes of viewing for that week, which encompasses the first four episodes of season two (three debuted on Jan. 12 and the fourth on Jan. 18) as well as any viewing for the first season, as Nielsen counts all episodes of a series in its streaming totals.

Peacock says season two of The Traitors had the biggest debut for any original reality series on the streamer, growing by 75 percent over its first season. The show will be the first unscripted offering from the NBCUniversal platform to hit the Nielsen rankings (complete charts for Jan. 15-21 will be available in mid-February). It's likely to be joined by Seth MacFarlane's Ted prequel series, which would mark the first time Peacock has placed two original shows in the top 10.

Peacock is now the exclusive U.S. streaming home for the hit U.K. reality series "Love Island: All Stars."

The first three episodes of the series will premiere on Jan. 29, with new episodes airing six days a week after that. Hosted by Maya Jama, "Love Island: All Stars" follows legendary U.K. Islanders as they return for a second chance at love.

"Relationships will be put to the test as bombshells enter and heads turn, leaving some lovestruck hopefuls heartbroken in the ultimate quest for love," the show's description reads.

"As the couples explore their connections and attempt to win the hearts of each other, only one pair will be crowned the winners of 'Love Island: All Stars' 2024."

"Love Island: All Stars" premiered on Jan. 15 in the U.K., launching on ITV and ITV2 simultaneously for the first time in the show's history. This season's cast features Chris Taylor, Georgia Harrison, Georgia Steel, Hannah Elizabeth, Josh Ritchie, Kaz Kamwi, Liberty Poole and more.

"Love Island: All Stars" joins Peacock's growing library of "Love Island" content, which includes "Love Island USA" and franchise spinoff "Love Island Games." "Love Island South Africa" and "Love Island Spain" are also available to stream on Peacock. "Love Island USA" was recently renewed for two more seasons.

Finally, the Lions and the Ravens will square off in a Wendy's NFL Consolation bowl game. The winner of that game will get a 3rd place participation trophy and have the banner in the stadium for the upcoming season. This comes up off the heels of last weekend's conference championship games.......

Thunderclap

don't choke on something. It's.............

90 seconds to talk about the US Chase on life support starting from.......

The US version of the chase is weekly. Why? They believe it should've ended up on daytime tv opposite The Price is Right. That would've had viewers scrambling for the remote to pick one to watch and the other to DVR or stream later. ITV does do it daily ever since the 2000s, and since then, Challenge has already rerunning it to death. But to be honest, The Chase seems to be disappearing out of nowhere. It's because of Press Your Luck and Celebrity Family Feud being big hits for years. Celebrity Jeopardy! is also a sure fire hit, but why can't  the chase return? It's because Jeopardy! can fit an hour like a glove. Look at ITV's recent version and you'll understand. Would viewers want one last ride with The Vixen, The Buzzsaw, The Professor and The Barrister among others? They DEFINITELY would. GSN has already had The Chase which reruns several times. Brooke Burns would get out Master Minds and hire Muffy and Monica Thieu. If ABC finally fesses up and gets the Chase back on schedule, it would be a big comeback story. Would it?

 Closing Theme

That's it for this week, today's consolation prize is a shish kebab. It's less than $30 but expensive meat to go with that might be good for 52 seasons. Does that cost $15?
