He's back....but it's not about 3 answers in one question....

(Switches screen to Paramount & Warner Bros. logos)

Married at first sight, The Reckoning....

(Switches screen to a buzzer)

and what if you knew it but didn't ACTUALLY knew it?

Let's................ Get................... Lit!

Opening Theme

Amy Irons: From around the world....across the country....and in your neighborhoods, NOW......in its 9th consecutive year, this is.................................

And now, the (Nearly) world-famous contestant...Pierre Kelly!

Me: Welcome to Game Show Live! Let's get right into it with.......

The Tubi opening toss up story.

Last week was a tease.....

And why the special announcement?  This.

For the first time in so long, America Says hath returned, but this time, a newer set and the same host and the same gameplay you remember. Last year, GSN introduced us to Tic Tac Dough, but America Says is a newer animal. You have to wait 30 days to see John Michael Higgins with a game that made him.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One game that needs to return is...............

Are You Smarter than a 5th grader? One of Fox's most popular game shows on both daytime & primetime. Are You Smarter than a Celebrity? obviously is the spinoff to that show and Travis Kelce is too busy being on the football field and needs to retire before the draft. If Amazon Prime cans it and get the OG one back, Mario Lopez should be in the running to host this thing. Not John Cena. Anf if all else fails.......it's this.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Movie studio fusion gone bad. Please use #GameShowLive on social media to spread the word and kill the negativity to us, please, would you? At the end of the program, I'll give you the contacts  to buzz me but whatever you shall do or whatever you don't do......SIT TIGHT YOU BEAUTY. After the ad break, a follow along on Pitfall!, Why $ale of the Century can't be rebooted, the Mistplay Game Break and lots of other thingamabobs. It's Game Show Live! not synchronized Irish step dancing or HBCU step exhibitions.

And now for your Twitch Clip of the day.

(fade to break)

https://youtu.be/8pNeLBfHffg?si=gPiXZY4AwoCGa0LK

Amy: Today's program is sponsored by....Kalshi.

And wildly enough, Pierre Kelly is back. Let's go to him......now!

Me: Thank you little A for that nifty plug, okay, I got a band that the groundhog got hit on the head for 6 more wek of winter, they are......Doireann Garrihy and the Irish setters!

(canned applause)

Very well done, these guys will be appearing at the Crawfish Festival out in Baton Rouge and there will be a lot there.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Remember what I said about Pitfall! possibly coming back. Well, I got some complaints regarding why it must be like Jungle Run but I'm giving it much less because they want....more of this......

That would give it the HD treatment but as if it wasn't enough, you get this.....

With some of this......

You put that together and you've got yourself a reboot.

Welp, this happened.

Paramount Skydance Corporation (NASDAQ: PSKY) ("Paramount") and Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc. (NASDAQ: WBD) ("WBD") today announced they have entered into a definitive merger agreement under which Paramount will acquire WBD, forming a premier global media and entertainment company focused on expanding consumer choice and empowering creative talent worldwide.

Under the terms of the agreement, Paramount will pay $31.00 per share in cash for all outstanding shares of WBD. The transaction has been unanimously approved by the Boards of Directors of both companies and is expected to close in Q3 2026, subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory clearances and approval by WBD shareholders, with a vote expected in the early spring of 2026. In the event the transaction has not closed by September 30, 2026, WBD shareholders will receive a $0.25 per share "ticking fee" for each quarter (measured daily) until closing.

The merger unlocks innovative and compelling storytelling opportunities across the combined company's best-in-class film and television studios, streaming and linear platforms. Together, Paramount and WBD will deliver greater choice for consumers through its leading streaming platforms with an exceptional intellectual property portfolio that has produced popular franchises such as Game of Thrones, Mission Impossible, Harry Potter, Top Gun, the DC Universe and SpongeBob SquarePants.

David Ellison, Chairman and CEO of Paramount, a Skydance Corporation, said: "From the very beginning, our pursuit of Warner Bros. Discovery has been guided by a clear purpose: to honor the legacy of two iconic companies while accelerating our vision of building a next-generation media and entertainment company. By bringing together these world-class studios, our complementary streaming platforms, and the extraordinary talent behind them, we will create even greater value for audiences, partners and shareholders - and we couldn't be more excited for what's ahead."

David Zaslav, President and CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery said: "I'm very pleased with the outcome we achieved for WBD shareholders and the entertainment industry. Our guiding principle throughout this process has been to secure a transaction that maximizes the value of our iconic assets and our century-old studio while delivering as much certainty as possible for our investors. We look forward to working with Paramount to complete this historic transaction."

There are a few consolations. Netflix stock is up today — investors disliked the deal, preferring the streamer as it has mostly been, a finally tuned precision tool, no big complications. Netflix will also walk away with a cool $2.8 billion breakup fee from WBD (but funded by Paramount). And it forced a rival studio to pony up more cash in what will be the biggest leveraged buyout in history.

The latest...
- Paramount has announced that it will merge its own streamer Paramount+ and that of Warner Bros. Discovery, HBO Max, into one entity. CEO David Ellison says the company's pending merger with Warner Bros. Discovery will give it the scale it needs to compete with Netflix, especially when Paramount+ and HBO Max come together. "We will combine the streaming portfolios of the two companies into one stronger platform over the coming years," Ellison told Wall Street analysts Monday on a conference call to discuss the $111 billion deal. On Paramount+ and HBO, he said, "there are more than 200 million [direct-to-consumer] subscribers today, and more than 100 countries and territories worldwide, positioning us to compete effectively with the leading streaming services in today's marketplace."
- Paramount executives stressed Monday that once merged with Warner Bros. Discovery, the company combined has no plans to unload any legacy cable networks. CEO David Ellison and COO and Chief Strategy Officer Andy Gordon were asked about that several times by analysts on a call. They have spoken frequently already about the logic of retaining cable after Ellison's Skydance acquired Paramount in August.
- Paramount president Jeff Shell, a key member of the management team during the company's pursuit of Warner Bros. Discovery, did not join Monday's conference call to discuss the merger. The exec's notable absence comes amid an internal probe of his dealings with Robert James "RJ" Cipriani. Deadline last month broke the news that Shell and his reps are ready to respond if Robert James "RJ" Cipriani makes good on his threat to sue him. The crux of the potential complaint is Cipriani's allegation that Shell leaked information about corporate doings like Paramount's $7.7 billion acquisition of UFC rights.
- Fitch Ratings downgraded Paramount Skydance's long-term issuer default rating from "BBB-" to "BB+," putting it into speculative-grade investment territory (aka "junk"). In addition, Fitch downgraded Paramount Skydance's senior unsecured debt from "BBB-" to "BB+" — and placed all the ratings on "Rating Watch Negative," indicating that further downgrades may be in the offing.
- David Zaslav is selling 4,004,149 shares of Warner Bros. Discovery stock, with an aggregate market value of $114,118,246, per an SEC filing from the company Tuesday. The date of the stock sale was listed as March 3. The shares Zaslav sold were granted from January 2023 to February 2026 as part of his employment agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery.

I want to take a break in the action for a reason why this show won't return.......

Sale of The Century. Although Al Howard made it, Reg Grundy took it to Australia and made it more modern and later took it back to America on NBC and syndication until 1989 but the Ausie format kept it going until the noughties. Recently, it was brought back as.........

And that gave way to this in ths USA.....

One star prize out of 5 was all you got if you had enough temptation dollars compared that to ACME Crimebucks which is.............POINTS! But one thing came to mind by the time last week's show is over is.........do your research. After seeing years of PYL as a customized Prize parade, I thought I made a laundry list of things if the winner went shopping.

$85 would entice you to a Samsung OLED TV worth about $1500 bucks, $150 would net you a fire table worth about $19,000 bucks and $230 can get you a 2026 explorer pro water jet worth about $20,149. Are you all with me so far?

Good.

$375 nets you an 18 day cruise for 38k, $570 buys you a whip like the 2026 Audi RS3 worth over $66k and $720 gets you and cash jackpot starting at half a million bucks bucks 25,000 everytime it's not hit plus everything else. By then you'd be a millionaire and all the viewers go................Wait, what, that's not fair. And so.......that kind of thing along with instant bargains makes Mr. Beast.....flat broke. Not to mention PYL getting cancelled sooner. But later on, we have news on PYL. I'm guessing....cancellation. Let's move on.

A piece of game show history now calls downtown Rochester home.

The puzzle board used on "Wheel of Fortune" arrived Monday at The Strong National Museum of Play, following a six-day trip across the country.

Vanna White used the board until 1997, hand-turning the letters before the show switched to digital screens.

Strong said the board is so big, part of the museum wall needed to be opened to get it inside.

The board will be housed in the upcoming Beyond the Buzzer exhibit, which will explore the history and impact of American game shows.

"It has been a fixture of so many families' evenings, sitting around, yelling the answers at the contestants," said Christopher Bensch, the museum's vice president for collections. "It is going to be the centerpiece of our 2028 exhibit about game show history, and we could not be more thrilled to have it here in Rochester."

Meredith Vieira's "25 Words or Less" is coming back for another season.

Announcing the renewal, the show posted on its socials: "It's official! We're filming season 8 this summer and we're so grateful for everyone who keeps watching!"

That is not all, because the announcement continued: "Stay tuned for more announcements about our LIVE episodes (yes, they're back!) and casting details.

Based on the board game of the same name, "25 Words or Less" challenges civilian/celebrity teams to come up with key words & phrases by conveying as few words as possible for a shot at $10,000. It premiered as a regular series after a nationwide test run in 2018, but since 2020, the show has filmed in virtual Zoom-like pods.

Today, Netflix announced a new student competition series, SCHOOLED!, hosted by pioneering creator and former NASA engineer Mark Rober.

Executive produced by Daniel Calin, Mark Rober & Scott Lewers for CrunchLabs, and Jimmy Kimmel and Scott Lonker for Kimmelot, SCHOOLED! is where teams of student tinkerers compete in creative and explosive science challenges, set in a fully gamified school. Mark Rober is on a mission to discover the next generation of Inventors, Makers, and Engineers. Winners take home a life-changing prize.

"I couldn't be more stoked to team up with Netflix and Jimmy Kimmel to bring SCHOOLED! to life," says Rober. "Our series is about giving kids a stage big enough for their ideas. This will be the ultimate playground for science, creativity, and competition to come together. I'm so pumped to see what these students come up with. My expectations are high. I'm ready to be blown away."

"Mark Rober is a master of the 'wow' moment, and we've seen firsthand how much our members love his unique brand of science-fueled spectacle, added John Derderian, Netflix Vice President of Animation Series + Kids & Family TV. "We're taking that energy to the next level with SCHOOLED!. It isn't just a competition; it's a celebration of creativity and engineering. It's exactly the kind of co-viewing experience that brings families together, and we can't wait to see what these young makers and tinkerers create in the halls of CrunchLabs Academy."

Casting is now open. Filming location and premiere date to be announced at a later date.

SCHOOLED! joins Rober's expanding library on Netflix including Mark Rober's CrunchLabs, which earned over 12M views in just two months following its debut on the Netflix service in November 2025 with more episodes launching on March 16. He also co-starred in Elmo & Mark Rober's Merry Giftmas special and was featured on Skyscraper Live on Netflix.

Netflix's Monopoly bake-off has been completed and Studio Lambert has emerged victorious.

The company behind Peacock hit The Traitors landed the right to produce a reality competition game show based on the iconic board game alongside Hasbro Entertainment.

Studio Lambert is continuing its hot streak in the U.S.; in September, the company won its second consecutive Emmy for Traitors, which aired its Season 4 finale on the NBCUniversal streamer Thursday, and it is preparing a civilian version of the celebrity-led reality competition for NBC that is due out later this year.

The company also recently scored a reality version of Fallout at Amazon, similar to its work on Squid Game: The Challenge, which was picked up for a third season by Netflix, and it is hoping to sell The Golden Elevators into the U.S.

The All3Media-backed business has done a lot of business with the streamer over the years including with shows such as The Circle, Dance 100 and Surviving Paradise. It beat out Endemol Shine North America and Wheelhouse for Monopoly after the bake-off was whittled down to a final three.

The bake-off was the talk of the unscripted town last summer with around 50 companies understood to have submitted creative ideas for the adaptation, with around 30 pre-approved by the streamer. Deadline hears that Netflix was pleased with the level of originality it received across the process.

Netflix struck a deal for the rights to Monopoly from Hasbro Entertainment last year. At the time, Netflix's VP unscripted series Jeff Gaspin told Deadline that the success of Monopoly Go!, the mobile board game from Scopely that came out in 2023, inspired him to buy the project.

"There's a gameplay in Monopoly Go! that I think really will resonate with gameplay in an unscripted series," he said.

The idea for the bake-off was not only to get the right creative for Monopoly, but to also open doors for companies that have either not worked with Netflix before or haven't made such a big show for the streamer.

Oh and remember what I said about a possible PYL cancellation this year? Well......
