Nightbirde may not be competing on “America’s Got Talent” this season, but on Wednesday night, she made a virtual appearance on the show once more, and her message of hope nearly brought judge Simon Cowell to tears.
Jane Marczewski, who performs under the stage name Nightbirde, went viral for scoring a Golden Buzzer from Cowell, but unfortunately had to drop out of the competition last week to focus on her health as she battles cancer. During an appearance on Chris Cuomo’s show on CNN on August 4, Nightbirde revealed that “my liver right now is mostly cancer. More cancer than liver in there right now.”
“But like I said, I’m planning my future, not my legacy. Some people would call that blind denial. I prefer to call it rebellious hope. And I’m not stopping anytime soon,” she added.
On Wednesday’s episode of “AGT,” Nightbirde appeared virtually to talk to the judges and audience, thanking everyone for their support of both her and her song “It’s Okay,” which host Terry Crews noted has been viewed more than 200 million times.
“It’s a song that I wrote for myself in the middle of the night, when I needed those words so bad,” Nightbirde said. “And it’s beautiful to see the world welcome that song into their own dark night, and I’m overwhelmed by it.”
The judges then each took a moment to speak to Nightbirde directly. When it came time for Simon Cowell to speak, he reiterated their support for the singer, before getting close to tears.
“You made the decision, rightly so, that your health is your priority right now and I know the last time we spoke you actually said that you feel like you let people down,” Cowell told her, holding back tears. “On behalf of all of us, you haven’t let anyone down. Even though you haven’t competed – you already won.”
Alan Carr is trying to get his husband Paul Drayton the "help he needs" after he started drinking again.
The 45-year-old comedian has revealed his significant other "fell off the wagon" in recent weeks while Alan was away filming in Wales, but the 'Chatty Man' host is working with Paul to help him.
He told The Sun newspaper: "While I was away filming on location the past few weeks, Paul fell off the wagon and started drinking again.
"When I arrived back home from Wales, Paul was covered in scratches and bruises from a drinking binge.
"We are now working together to get the help he needs to get better which is our number one priority right now."
Alan previously admitted the coronavirus lockdown had tempted Paul to start drinking again, but he was "proud" of him for staying sober.
He said: "It's been tough for Paul during lockdown. He's been saying, 'Oh, shall we get a bottle?' and I say, 'No, we're not getting any rose wine in.' He's been so good and I'm so proud of him."
The 'Epic Gameshow' presenter stopped drinking in 2018 in support of his teetotal husband, and he now only has a drink on special occasions.
Alan recently said: "I like eating and drinking, but it was ridiculous before - we were cracking open a bottle of rose because it was a Monday. We were out of control. It was a laugh, but looking at Paul, sometimes the party has to stop.
"I enjoy a drink and I have it on special occasions now, it's a real treat for me."
Kathy Griffin has joined the upcoming fifth season of HBO Max’s “Search Party.”
Griffin will play Liquorice Montague, a conspiracy theorist who takes Chantal (Clare McNulty) under her wing as a “co-dependent apprentice.” Her role will be recurring.
Griffin joins fellow “Search Party” newcomer Jeff Goldblum, who plays tech billionaire Tunnel Quinn. The series stars McNulty, Alia Shawkat, Meredith Hagner, John Early and John Reynolds. It debuted on Comedy Central before moving to HBO Max for its fourth season.
Last week, Griffin shared that she had been diagnosed with lung cancer two weeks prior, and successfully underwent surgery. She said had never previously smoked and was optimistic about her prognosis. “The doctors are very optimistic as it is stage one and contained to my left lung,” she wrote. “Hopefully no chemo or radiation after this and I should have normal function with my breathing. I should be up and running around as usual in a month or less.”
Griffin’s scenes were shot before her diagnosis was made public.
She is repped by The Initiative Group and Edelstein, Laird & Sobel.
“Search Party” is executive produced by Sarah-Violet Bliss, Charles Rogers, Michael Showalter and Jax Media’s Lilly Burns and Tony Hernandez.
Variety first reported the news of Griffin.

Good Morning America weekend anchor Dan Harris is leaving ABC News.
Harris, who spent the past two decades serving in multiple roles at the network, expects to make his exit in two months, he announced on Sunday’s broadcast.
“This was a difficult decision for me,” he said. “It’s been a lot to juggle, and even though I’m a public proponent of work/life balance, if I’m honest, I’ve struggled to follow my own advice.”
Harris made mention of the continuing demands of his own media venture called Ten Percent Happier, which focuses on teaching meditation to skeptics. The anchor has frequently discussed on air how meditation helped rid himself of negative thoughts and attitudes, and even specifically detailed how he once suffered a panic attack mid-show.
Harris first joined ABC News in March of 2000. Previously, he served as a co-anchor for ABC News’ Nightline, but stepped away in 2019, citing similar reasons to those behind his current exit. Before that, Harris worked as a correspondent and host on 20/20, and as a reporter on ABC World News Tonight with David Muir. He has also made appearances on shows like The Colbert Report, Katie, The Insider and 500 Questions.
In 2014, the journalist published the book 10% Happier: How I Tamed the Voice In My Head, Reduced Stress Without Losing My Edge and Found Self-Help That Actually Works. The following year, Harris transformed his bestseller into an app.
Thank God it wasn't John Salley
Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade is unable to replicate his on-court persona on the game show The Cube.
The 3x NBA champion is one of the best shooting guards in the history of the league. Wade had an illustrious 16-year career in the NBA. Flash could definitely play both ends of the floor.
After retiring from the sport, the 39-year old has been indulging in various activities that include a mix of recreation and business.
In 2021 D-Wade decided to host the show, The Cube. Though initially, he was on board only as an executive producer for the show.
Based on the U.K. hit, the game gives two-person teams nine shots to complete seven physical tasks, all while locked inside a plexiglass box. The Cube consists of players taking part in a series of games to win up to $250,000, and one of the lifelines afforded to contestants was having Wade himself sub in for one of the challenges.
However, the show hasn’t been able to garner a very positive response. Wade’s role as a host hasn’t sat too well with many, who feel he hasn’t been able to justify the job.
According to many reviews online, the show isn’t doing him any good. The vibe of the show has been super off, as suggested by many netizens. The show has been accused of having a lot of cringe factors.
