Fox is creating a full night of mystery variety shows this March.
During a football game on Saturday, the network released a teaser for its new reality series Game Of Talents (watch it below). It revealed that the mystery talent show will premiere in March and will air Wednesdays at 9 PM, behind Fox’s flagship The Masked Singer.
In Game of Talents contestants must guess the performers’ hidden talent, based only on their first impressions and a few wily clues. Wayne Brady hosts and executive-produces the program, produced by Fremantle and based on its hit international forma. Game of Talents pits two teams of contestants against each other as they attempt to figure out the surprising – and sometimes bizarre – hidden talents of the mystery performers. With more than $200,000 on the line, can the contestants spot the fire dancer from the spider wrangler, or the chainsaw juggler from the contortionist?

A new spin on You Bet Your Life, the personality-driven game show that gave Groucho Marx a new level of fame on the then-emerging medium of television, has been sold in 85% of the country ahead of its fall debut.
Hosted by Jay Leno, the new version of the show will launch across Fox’s portfolio of 29 stations as well as stations owned by Sinclair, Nexstar, Scripps, Meredith, Gray and other companies.
The announcement came during NATPE, whose annual Miami confab is happening virtually this year in the latest adjustment to Covid-19.
The team mounting the new version said it will retain many elements of the Marx-hosted original, which ran on both radio and television and was a defining show of the 1950s.
In the reboot, the game will couple two strangers together for the opportunity to win prize money by correctly answering questions about pre-determined categories. Each episode will present two pairs of contestants. Tonight Show band leader Kevin Eubanks will share hosting duties.
Tom Werner will serve as the executive producer, along with showrunner and executive producer, David Hurwitz..

The launch of rebranded streaming service Paramount+ has been set by ViacomCBS. It will go live in the U.S. and Latin America on March 4, the Nordics on March 25 and Australia by the middle of the year. In Canada, CBS All Access will be rebranded as Paramount+ on March 4 and then evolve into an expanded offering later in the year.
The timing of the rollout conforms with guidance from management in recent months. Along with the launch dates, the company said on February 24 it will deliver an overview of its streaming plans for Paramount+, Showtime’s OTT service and the free, ad-supported Pluto TV.
The preview will be combined with the company’s regular quarterly earnings report, unlike stand-alone investor events put on by several companies over the past two years.
Paramount+ in its rebranded form will join a crowded streaming field and caps the efforts of a company that completed its merger in December 2019.
ViacomCBS has pursued a more opportunistic approach to streaming, licensing Paramount studio films and select network series rights to third parties, not just Netflix but also services run by other media companies. South Park went to HBO Max in a lucrative deal, and an agreement reached last year with NBCUniversal sent marquee properties like Yellowstone and The Godfather to NBCU streaming service Peacock.
Still, the ViacomCBS portfolio blends an array of premium and free streaming assets. In addition to Pluto, whose user base has tripled since Viacom acquired it two years ago, a clutch of free, ad-supported properties like CBSN and CBS Sports HQ give Paramount+ reach that many rivals lack. In recent months, the company has billed Paramount+ as delivering subscribers “live sports, breaking news and a mountain of entertainment.”.

Sadly, one sports cable network is bitten to the dust thanks to FS1 and ESPN.
NBCUniversal has decided to shut down its national sports cable network, NBCSN, by the end of this year.
Much of its network’s programming, including the NHL, NASCAR and English Premier League, will move over to USA Network and streaming service Peacock. USA will begin to simulcast some of NBCSN’s games this year until the network winds down completely.
The decision also comes as NBC is in its final year under its current NHL rights deal. Its media deal with the Premier League expires next year.
“We’re all aware of how quickly the media landscape is evolving, and our Company is taking thoughtful steps to stay ahead of these trends wherever possible and, in many instances, help set them,” NBC Sports president Pete Bevacqua said in a memo on Friday.
“At the conclusion of 2021, we have decided that the best strategic next step for our Sports Group and the entire Company is to wind down NBCSN completely, with key elements of NBCSN’s programming moving to USA Network and, in some cases, Peacock for 2022 and beyond."
NBCSN, short for NBC Sports Network, began life as Outdoor Life Network in 1995 and rebranded as Versus in 2006 as it focused more on mainstream sporting events and acquired off-broadcast rights to "Survivor". Comcast acquired a majority stake in NBCUniversal in 2011 and rebranded the network as NBC Sports Network in 2012.

Survivor host and showrunner Jeff Probst does Cameo videos for charity, and in December, sent one to a fan that said that while he’d hoped to have filmed a season in 2020 (“oh did we try”), it ended up being “impossible. We have 400 crew members, 20 different countries, the border restrictions alone were an issue, the medical care in Fiji, you know—we just couldn’t risk it.”
“But we’ve been working on a plan to back get out there in 2021,” he added in the video.
“I feel optimistic that not only will we shoot, but it’s going to be really good.”
Having a plan for 2021 is a welcome change from last summer, when Probst said, “We don’t have a plan yet.” And now a new report confirms that Survivor seasons 41 and 42 will indeed go into production this year, after missing an entire year.

And now.....to a different wheel.
Michael McIntyre will return for a second series of The Wheel, the BBC has announced.
The new game show first launched last year to big viewing figures on Saturday nights.
The BBC has confirmed that the show will be back with a bumper sixteen episode second series due to start later in 2021.
On The Wheel, celebrity guests attempt to help members of the public win big cash prizes. In each episode three contestants hope to answer their way to a fortune, guided by seven celebrity experts. Can the famous faces help them to win life-changing cash? That all depends on the spin of The Wheel.
On returning for a second series, Michael McIntyre said: “I am thrilled by the success of The Wheel. The series was so much fun to host and I love how the gameplay in every show was so different but always entertaining and suspenseful.
"And having socially distanced strangers sing 'The Wheel' to me on my daily walk has been the unexpected pleasure of lockdown!”

Lightning is the new BBC Two game show hosted by Zoe Lyons - here's all you need to know.
Comedian Zoe Lyons presents the electrifyingly fast new quiz which offers contestants a £3,000 jackpot.
Six plucky contestants compete across six rounds testing their general knowledge, quick thinking and speedy reactions whilst our ruthless spotlight patrols the studio. The contestants’ motivation in each round is simple: stay out of the light and you’ll be alright!
The BBC explain: "In each nerve-shredding round, contestants aim to pass the dreaded light from themselves onto a rival of their choice by correctly answering a question or completing a physical task.
"Only viewers at home can see the ticking clock and whoever gets caught in the light when time runs out at the end of the round is struck by lightning and eliminated from the game."
Each week of five shows starts with six contestants who, whenever they are knocked out, return to play again on the next episode.
The contestant who manages to make the endgame in a show plays for the chance to win up to £3,000.

And now for some sad news.
The Food Network has scrubbed its latest season of reality series Worst Cooks In America after its champion has been arrested for a child’s murder.
Ariel Robinson, age 29, was charged Tuesday along with her husband, Jerry Robinson, in the death of a 3-year-old girl in South Carolina. They face counts of homicide by child abuse in the death of their adopted daughter.
On Jan. 14, police found an unresponsive child at the couple’s home in Simpsonville, South Carolina, television station WHNS reported. The girl died as a result of several blunt force injuries, a medical examination revealed. She was identified as Victoria Smith, according to the Greenville station.
Ariel Robinson won $25,000 in the latest edition of Worst Cooks in America, a competition between people with admittedly poor cooking skills. They go through a boot camp under celebrity chef supervision in the competition.
The Food Network has scrubbed all content related to the Season 20 show. The competition was filmed in February 2020 and aired last year. The Food Network has yet to comment on the Robinson incident.
The content is not available on the Food Network’s Discovery+, Hulu or YouTube page but episode summaries are still available on the official website.
Robinson was a recently retired teacher and budding stand-up comedian. She also added three foster children to her family in March 2020 after the series taping, but it’s not clear if the murdered child was one of them.
On a more positive note.......
Host Sunny Anderson transports viewers into a whimsical world of Easter treats in the primetime baking competition Easter Basket Challenge, premiering Monday, March 1st at 10pm ET/PT on Food Network.

One baker is eliminated each episode, with the final three competitors duking it out for the Bunny Money prize - a golden egg filled with $25,000!
For fans who can't wait for Easter, all episodes of Easter Basket Challenge will be available to stream on March 1st on discovery+.
