The Tubi opening toss up story.

Channel 4 has confirmed that hit comedy game show Taskmaster has been renewed for a further six seasons.

The Taskmaster himself, Greg Davies, and show creator Little Alex Horne will also return in their roles for Taskmaster’s New Year Treat, and the fan-favorite Taskmaster Champion of Champions.

Horne said in a statement: "I’m pleased and quite stressed that I’ve got to come up with a lot more tasks for a lot more comedians but the thought of three more years in Greg’s deep embrace is soothing my little head."

Meanwhile, Davies added: "I am delighted the comedian meat grinder remains open for business. I look forward to gleefully keeping it fed with the help of a small, introverted man that I own."

Alongside the renewal, Channel 4 also revealed that season 19 of Taskmaster, which aired in 2025, saw the show reach new heights in its popularity, with clips from the series accumulating 165 million global views across its social platforms. The show has also surpassed over 1.4 billion global views on its official YouTube channel.

The news comes with the release date for season 21 just days away, kicking off on Thursday 9 April at 9pm on Channel 4, and arriving directly afterwards on YouTube worldwide. The line-up for the new season is made up of Last One Laughing comedian Amy Gledhill, The Thick of It and The Day Today creator Armando Iannucci, Gavin & Stacey actress Joanna Page, The Masked Singer presenter Joel Dommett and Oscar-nominated Silicon Valley star Kumail Nanjiani.

Horne recently set Iannucci and Dommett a special Easter task for Radio Times – with less than successful results.

He has also previewed a moment involving Nanjiani in the upcoming episodes that he called a "never-before-seen Taskmaster moment".

A James Bond-inspired game show with an A-list host has been “shelved’”.

Amazon Prime Video, who are responsible for bringing the next 007 movie to life, have given fans two seasons of Road To A Million, but there is concern there won’t be any more.

The second series landed on the streaming service last summer, but now it looks like a third season could be off the cards.

Road To A Million brought with it a huge A-list host, as Succession‘s Brian Cox took the helm.

The show saw contestants take on a global adventure in a bid to win £1million.

The challenges on the show were inspired by the James Bond films.

However, according to TV Zone, there is no sign of a third season, leading to strong speculation the show has been cancelled. The Sun has reached out to Amazon for a comment.

I can't believe American Gladiators is back. The show that copycatted by Knights & Warriors, Blade Warriors, Battle Dome and others and proves that Ice from the original show is still sexy as you know what hath returned to Amazon Prime since that stupid 2008 NBC remake aired, but one viewer isn't buying it and here's why.

See there?

“American Idol” Season 9 kicked off its live shows with ratings growth as Monday’s show earning 4.86 million total viewers on both ABC and Disney+.

The season’s first live show grew week-over-week in total viewers as the Top 20 performed songs of faith in celebration of Holy Week. The Season 9 episode saw an 6% increase in viewership as compared to last season’s first Monday live show and grew 11% over the show’s March 31 audience last year.

To date, “American Idol” Season 9 has averaged 5.11 million total viewers, reporting year-over-year gains of 5%. The live show also ranked as the No. 1 show across broadcast and cable Monday night.

American Idol postponed the results of last night’s live vote as the last twelve singers waited patiently to see if they would make it through the Songs of Faith episode.

It was reported earlier this year that the ABC show was introducing live social voting and it seems to have disrupted the process.

Host Ryan Seacrest revealed in the closing moments on Monday’s show that no one would leave in episode 10 because the new voting system saw “tens of millions of votes coming in at a rate we’ve never seen before”. Seacrest called it “truly unprecedented”.

It was a move that clearly surprised judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Carrie Underwood.

“This is the first time it’s ever happened. Believe me, I’ve been here every night. We want to make sure we get every vote counted, and every vote right. We’ll carry forward those votes, get everything verified,” he added. “At the top of next week’s show, your results will be revealed live on this stage. There you have it, America, tens of millions of votes, your top 12 will sing for your votes live all over again.”

The series, which is produced by Fremantle in association with Sony Pictures Television’s 19 Entertainment, has five ways to vote: online and text, and now Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.

The reported plan now is that the 12 contestants will now find out at the top of next week’s show who has been eliminated with the ten remaining going through to the 90s Judge’s Song contest.

Showrunner Megan Michaels Wolflick told Deadline in January that she had wanted to do social media voting for the last five years, something that no other major entertainment show has done.

“We have to meet the audience where they are. Back in 2002 when the show began, texting was the new hot thing. We also have to meet the technology where it is, as well. We want to make it as easy as possible for people to vote for their favorites, weigh in from their couch with their second screen, in real time,” she said.

“If we can get Gen Alpha and Gen Z to weigh in a little bit more in the easiest way possible, that’s very exciting. It could tip the scale. Trends are always different,” she added.

Netflix has given a second season renewal to Age of Attraction after the dating reality series strongly hooked with viewers after a March 25 rookie season wrap.

The premise for Netflix’s latest dating series ignores birthdates as Romeo and Juliet rely on sparks and compatibility for a connection before finally revealing their ages in the the so-called Promise Room.

“Age of Attraction throws age out the window as singles search for their soulmates—but will the years come between them? In this reality dating series, connections are put to the test as participants navigate chemistry, life stages, and the question of whether love is truly ageless,” reads a synopsis from producers Velvet Hammer Media.

But while age may or may not matter to the daters, Netflix has noticed audience numbers as its second season renewal follows Age of Attraction making it into the streamer’s English TV Top 10 and reaching the Top 10 in 26 countries after premiering on March 11.

“We love concepts that are impossible to look away from and Age of Attraction nailed that from day one. It’s messy, it’s real and that’s what makes it fun to watch. Huge thanks to Netflix for embracing this dating experiment with us. The response has been incredible, and we’re excited to push it even further in season two,” Jennifer O’Connell and Rebecca Quinn, executive producers and co-founders of Velvet Hammer Media, said in a statement.

Welp.......this happened.

After The Late Show With Stephen Colbert ends — as in, one day after — CBS will usher in its next era of late night programming.

The network will air Comics Unleashed With Byron Allen in the 11:35 p.m. beginning May 22, followed by another Allen-produced series, the comedy game show Funny You Should Ask, at 12:35 a.m.

The Late Show will sign off on May 21.

Comics Unleashed has been airing in the later spot this season and also aired there during the 2023 writers and actors strikes.

Notably — especially for CBS’ bottom line — Allen is buying time from the network to air the two shows, with his company, Allen Media Group, selling the available ad spots in the two hours. The change will likely see CBS turn a profit in late night.

“I created and launched Comics Unleashed 20 years ago so my fellow comedians could have a platform to do what we all love — make people laugh,” Allen, founder, chairman and CEO of Allen Media Group, said in a statement. “I truly appreciate CBS’ confidence in me by picking up our two-hour comedy block of Comics Unleashed and Funny You Should Ask, because the world can never have enough laughter.”

Allen has publicly expressed his interest in the 11:35 spot. “Let me be clear … if they are looking for a show, my hand is already up,” Allen said in October 2025, two and a half months after CBS announced it was ending The Late Show. “Fifty years I have been waiting for this moment, definitely I am going for it.”

Comics Unleashed, hosted by Allen, features a group of comedians doing short sets on topics provided by Allen. The show is something of a hybrid between a talk show and a stand-up showcase. Jon Kelley hosts Funny You Should Ask, a game show in which two contestants answer trivia questions with input from a group of comics.

Allen, Carolyn Folks, Jennifer Lucas, Jodi Miller and Peter Steen are executive producers of both shows. Dylan King also exec produces Comics Unleashed, while Bob Boden, Scott Satin and Eric Charbonnel are EPs of Funny You Should Ask.

But let's go on to a Mistplay Game Break. Somebody please help me out and remember what the hell I was watching growing up.

  • It ran from 1993-1994
  • The host was a scientist by the name of Dr. Pi. I like pie.
  • It featured science experiements you would do with an adult similar to the other kids science shows at the time.
  • Cartoons were interspered in between all of that

What's the show? Find out after Soulstice a capella continues April Acapella Awareness month.
