Ike Barinholtz is bringing his Jeopardy! dominance to a new arena. The Comedy Central star launches Funny You Ask, a weekly comedy-trivia podcast, on March 25 that will test his knowledge against Hollywood’s funniest friends. It combines two passions: trivia battles and riffing with celebrities.
Ike Barinholtz didn’t just appear on Celebrity Jeopardy! last season, he dominated it. The actor and writer won both Celebrity Jeopardy! and the regular version of the game show, cementing his status as a trivia savant. His The Studio co-star Seth Rogen frequently brags about this accomplishment to everyone on set. Now Barinholtz is leveraging that expertise into a new multimedia venture that celebrates knowledge in a fun, comedic format. The podcast will feature full audio episodes plus YouTube and social media clips.
Barinholtz explained his motivation to The Hollywood Reporter, saying, “I’m not saying this to be soap-boxy, but we live in an era now where people question facts. So having really funny conversations centered around knowledge and facts felt like something I’d want to listen to.” The show merges his passion for trivia with his love of comedy.
The comedy elite are stepping up to the trivia challenge. Barinholtz has already recorded episodes with Jimmy Kimmel, Kate Hudson, Mindy Kaling, Dave Franco, and Tiffany Haddish. The genius of the format is personalization. For Mindy Kaling, questions focus only on fashion, food, and 1980s Boston Celtics trivia. Dave Franco impressed with his knowledge of 1990s movies, while Kimmel proved to be surprisingly knowledgeable despite his public persona. Tiffany Haddish continues to amaze with her unique perspective and radically different thinking style.
A family edition is already in the works featuring his father, mother, and actor brother. All four family members excel at different topics. His father can name bands from 1958 onward, his mother knows painting history, his brother specializes in science, and Ike dominates history. These family episodes promise to be personal and competitive.
Multi-Platform Distribution: Audio and Video Strategy
Podcast consumption has evolved beyond pure audio. Barinholtz is meeting audiences where they are with full-length episodes on all major platforms, complete YouTube videos, and short-form clips for social media reels. He’s thinking about how people experience content: commuters listen to audio, while YouTube viewers want to see the facial expressions and comedy. 30 to 60-second clips will capture viral moments like Kate Hudson discussing band-aide fantasies or Mindy Kaling calling him a fraud. This multi-platform approach maximizes reach and engagement across different viewing habits.
Why This Show Matters in Today’s Media Landscape
Funny You Ask arrives at a cultural moment when facts feel contested. Barinholtz emphasizes that the podcast provides substantive conversations grounded in knowledge, all wrapped in comedy. The scoring system is flexible and fun, not punitive. Even wrong answers can earn partial credit if Barinholtz appreciates the response quality. He wanted to avoid the traditional interview format of “where are you from?” and instead gamify the experience. Will Emma Stone finally appear on the show and claim her stripes? Can Patton Oswalt redeem himself against Barinholtz? Tune in starting March 25 to find out.
So......this had to happen, but something weird was on the peacock app. No, really. Take a look.
A One Chicago crossoever event. Never on the peacock network or the peacock app have this crossover event take place since The Flintstones met the Jetsons. That may be cool and all but come next year, it could do it again for a series finale. I bet you $10 that there will be a crossover event to let the cast move on to bigger cities in the usa and live on in syndication reruns.
Steve Urkel or Sonic The Hedgehog played by the same person is asking 2 teams of 2 to get on the flip side in an all new season and they want you to help. Click on this link here. No word yet on when The Perfect Line gets renewed.
IT's a new month, so let's award somebody with the following rules you need to follow:
Someone who can stream for more than one year of his or her own time, can be of some certain variety or within the realm outside of video games (i.e. Artwork, Music), viewership numbers on averages and the category most important: Play Jackbox games if necesssary. Please help me introduce you all to.................
This month's recipient: davyiseatingasandwich. I'm not lying to you all. He is a variety streamer of all things, but mostly in the game show realm. Here's a sample of them.
But there's more to game show streams than that. There's also.............
You are the Twitchhead of the month for March of 2026. You get an imaginary plaque to hang on the wall, bragging rights and what else, Madison Brunoehler?
Madison: A hot dog. Because a hot dog....is a sandwich. Right, Pierre?
Me: Right. We'll be back next month to see who else is eating a sandwich. Possibly a krystal burger.
Free streaming platform Free streaming platform Samsung TV Plus is rolling into March with a lineup that mixes live sports, classic game shows, and fan-favorite movies, giving cord-cutters plenty to watch throughout the month.
The platform’s March schedule includes live coverage of MotoAmerica’s Daytona 200 race weekend, the launch of a dedicated Minor League Baseball channel, new game-show channels featuring Family Feud and The Price Is Right, and a special celebration for fans of Dawson’s Creek.
Samsung TV Plus is available for free on Samsung smart TVs and Galaxy devices and offers hundreds of ad-supported channels without a subscription.
Remember that story about Paramount getting toegther with Warner Brothers hat we shared with you on Wednesday? Well......had the merger not take place, Paramount Plus and HBO Max would've left it alone, the NFL won't be on TNT or TBS like it was in 1990, the Animanics would never be in the Big Brother house and The Amazing Race would be with The Sopranos and Sucession all for charity. Also, they're still doing March Madness. Just saying.
Hey, here's a list of the 10 reality shows that never......and I mean, NEVER aired. One example of which was......
Ultimate Slip N Slide. The show's cancellation was the result of a veritable PR disaster. With only one week left in production, a giardia outbreak swept through the crew. Though only one crew member tested positive for the intestinal infection, it was reported that 40 crew members fell in dramatic fashion. According to a source who spoke to The Wrap, the crew came down with "awful explosive diarrhea," which had people "collapsing." Insert bathroom humor here.
The water used on the slides tested negative for giardia, though the "surrounding area" tested positive. One source claimed that finishing production would be too expensive, while another insider suggested that crew members were apprehensive about returning to the set due to safety concerns. The game show "Family Game Fight!" aired in its place.
Guess whagt's making a comeback? No, not Chris Moyles getting back to Radio 1, although it would be awful to let him play Sabrina Carpenter, i'm talking about in spite of digital media taking the world so far for years.....................this one.
Physical Media. Gen Z is getting to ditch Spotify for old records, cassette tapes, CDs, DVDs and VHS for retro goodness. Remember the old bargain bin for $5 at Walmart? Well, Gen Z is reliving their youth with some of the movies that kids watched all afternoon or weekends on TV. Thanks to whatever's on pop radio, vinyl sales are at an all time high thanks to Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and others. So the next time you dust off that VHS or find a Blu Ray player you had to get from the Salvation Army or the Goodwill, remember 25 years ago that Physical media was once a thing is STILL a thing.
(song stops)
but what else is a thing? Sheri Miller. She's got a brand spanking new song and it goes............like this.
