Regina Hall is getting into the unscripted TV business.
The Best Man: Final Chapters and Girls Trip star, via her Rh Negative production company, has signed a first-look deal with MGM Alternative, the unscripted division of Amazon MGM Studios, to develop and produce shows across a range of unscripted genres, including game shows, true crime and docuseries. The first project under the deal is called Squad Games, a competition loosely inspired by Girls Trip that will feature “celebrities and their real-life BFFs on an exotic getaway where they compete in wild challenges.”
“I’m so excited for this new partnership with MGM,” Hall said in a statement. “I’m positive that the relationship between Rh Negative and their team will be an incredibly supportive and productive one and I’m thrilled about what we have in the works.”
Said Barry Poznick, general manager of MGM Alternative, “Ever since we saw Regina Hall co-hosting the Academy Awards two years ago, we knew she had something special that would resonate with reality fans. Her humor, honesty, creativity and style of storytelling make her a perfect partner as we continue to expand MGM Alternative’s slate of premium unscripted programming.”
The deal with MGM Alternative represents Rh Negative’s first foray into unscripted programming. Hall was a producer of her feature film Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul and an executive producer of the psychological thriller Master, which streamed on Amazon’s Prime Video. She was also a producer on Showtime’s Black Monday, where she starred opposite Don Cheadle and Andrew Rannells..

As far as Jonathan Bennett is concerned, “there are two types of people in the world: people that watch Hallmark movies and liars,” the actor tells TVLine.
Bennett has starred in his fair share of those Hallmark movies, often taking part in major LGBTQ moments on the network, and now he’s passing the baton, so to speak. As the host and co-creator of Hallmark’s first reality competition series, Bennett is hoping to discover the network’s next holiday hunk in Finding Mr. Christmas (premiering Thursday, Oct. 31, exclusively on Hallmark+).
Below, Bennett breaks down what you need to know about the show and the eventual movie starring the winner.
“Hallmark has become such a part of the pop culture zeitgeist in the entertainment industry that every single one of my actor friends are always asking me, ‘Hey, how do I get involved in the Hallmark Channel? How do I get involved in those movies?'” Bennett says. As a former contestant on Celebrity Big Brother and Dancing With the Stars, as well as a frequent host on Food Network, Bennett thought, “What if we took my expertise in the reality competition space and brought the audience in on the journey of finding the next Hallmark star?”
Each episode features a Festive Faceoff, like making an ugly Christmas sweater or building a snowman blindfolded, that tests the hopefuls’ holiday spirit while also allowing the judges and viewers to get to know the guys’ backgrounds and personalities. That’s followed by the Star Quality challenge, “where we take the tropes of each of the Hallmark movies and turn them into a different challenge and then we gamify them,” Bennett previews. “The first episode is the meet-cute, so we put them in a scene with a real Hallmark leading lady, and they have to perform a scene that they only had about 10 minutes to learn. But since it’s a reality competition, we have two guys in the scene meeting the girl at the same time and now they have to compete to get the leading lady’s attention.” Other Star Quality challenges feature the men having to learn the Christmas waltz and being put in the hot seat by an E! News reporter. “So everything that it takes to be a Hallmark leading man, from what you have to do on-camera to what you have to do off-camera,” Bennett notes.
As a Hallmark vet, Bennett gave the contestants some simple advice: “I said, ‘Just be yourself.’ It’s really about being yourself and letting that shine through, because at the end of the day, America is going to fall in love with who you are, and that’s exactly what they do with the Hallmark stars. The Hallmark stars pretty much just play versions of themselves. Like, I don’t go into a Hallmark movie and reinvent the wheel of who Jonathan Bennett is.”

America’s Got Talent is losing one of its longest-tenured talents. Jason Raff, who has served as showrunner of the long-running NBC hit for 19 seasons, has left the show.
After 482 original episodes including 140 hours of live episodes, Raff told Deadline that he was informed that he was being let go the day after season 19 finished at the end of September due to budget cuts. Raff also developed and served as showrunner for all of the show’s spinoffs including America’s Got Talent: The Champions, AGT: Extreme, America’s Got Talent: All-Stars and America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League.
Sam Donnelly, who has served as showrunner alongside Raff, will continue as solo showrunner on Season 20, which is produced by Fremantle and Syco Entertainment, and will likely air in May 2025.
Raff told Deadline that nearly 20 years ago, he was handed a DVD of a presentation for British broadcaster ITV called Paul’s O’Grady’s Got Talent. The UK network had passed but NBC picked it up to air in June 2006.
Raff, who had previously worked in news and on NBC’s Dateline before serving as a supervising producer on early NBC reality show Average Joe, had an overall deal with NBC at the time.
He started on the show in 2006 as a co-exec producer, alongside showrunner Ken Warwick, who also worked on American Idol, before Warwick left and Raff become executive producer.
“I was offered two shows in the same week. One was a celebrity cooking show and the other was Got Talent. It had Simon Cowell, who was pretty big at the time. It was a variety show and I could juggle and ride a unicycle, so I was like that looks good,” Raff told Deadline.

Right now it's time for a Mistplay Game Break. Here's the question for you all.
Which of the 2 main types of clause can stand alone as a complete sentence?
After we go to Christa Nannos for Nan-November, we'll give you the answer.
@christanannos Here are four somatic movements to help release anger: Lemon Lion, Tense and Release, Warrior Stomp, and Chopping Wood. These movements encourage trapped emotions to flow and gently release from our bodies, allowing us to process and let go of pent-up feelings. Engaging in these practices can create a sense of relief and restore emotional balance. #SomaticHealing #EmotionalRelease #MindBodyConnection #AngerManagement #WellnessJourney #SelfCare #HealingMovement #MentalHealthMatters ♬ Post Malone (feat. RANI) [Joe Stone Remix] - Sam Feldt
And you got the answer. It's either Independent or Dependent. It depends.

We lost Ron Ely. The next Johnny Weissmuller. In other words, Tarzan. The only game show he ever presented: Face The Music. A creation Sandy Frank made in 1980-81. Sometimes, he may be the answer and we just found that out in Today's Game Show Live!..........
