From Radical Outdoor Challenge on ESPN......to this.

"Wheel of Fortune" is entering into a new era.

For the first time in over four decades, there will be a new host on "America's Game" as Ryan Seacrest makes his hosting debut on the show.

Seacrest begins his new role after Pat Sajak retired in June.

The episode opened with announcer Jim Thornton intoning, "And now, together for the first time, here are the stars of our show, Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White!" Seacrest stood arm-in-arm with White as she welcomed him to the show. He told her, "So happy to be here with you," adding, "Let's have fun!"

After taking his place on the set, which has been revamped for the new season, Seacrest addressed the audience, saying, "Thank you for the very warm welcome. Hosting Wheel of Fortune is a dream job. I've been a fan of this show since I was a kid, watching in Atlanta with my family, and I know how special it is that Wheel has been in your living rooms for the past 40 years. I'm just so grateful to be invited in. I also know I've got some very big shoes to fill."

Following Sajak's retirement, Seacrest thanked the 77-year-old host for his incredible run as a beloved part of American television.

"Your partnership with Vanna has been nothing short of iconic, and together, you've created countless wonderful memories for viewers," he said in a post on social media. "You've set the standard for hosts everywhere, and this marks the end of an era. Best wishes for all your future endeavors."

In July, Seacrest gave his 7 million Instagram followers a glimpse of his new gig on his first day working on the iconic game show. "A glimpse of my first day at @wheeloffortune, and I'm still spinning with excitement!" he captioned the clip.

Seacrest will be joined by co-host and longtime letter-turner, Vanna White.

We also have the premiere of a brand new syndicated offering in "Flip Side". Hosted by Jaleel White, the comedy game show will air as a dual run in select markets before airing on Game Show Network next week.

Meanwhile, Jeopardy! has released a rare behind-the-scenes look at how the show is taped as the gameshow returns for Season 41.offered a behindThe evening was fun for the show's stars as well. Hot off the heels of its Emmy win, the Ken-Jennings-hosted quizzer posted a multicam sneak peek video from the upcoming season of the show on YouTube on Monday. The new season will start with regular episodes featuring brand-new contestants and will continue for the remainder of the year. Regular play will then pause from January 2025 for the tournaments and resume in April 2025 until the season wraps up on July 25, 2025. There will also be fewer tournaments than last year, with just four, including a shorter edition of Second Chance and Champions Wildcard, the 2025 Tournament of Champions, and a second edition of the Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament.

Also returning for new seasons, Fox First Run-distributed Pictionary, 25 Words or Less, and Person, Place or Thing, all now originating from studios in Atlanta

For most Jeopardy! fans, longtime host Alex Trebek was synonymous with the beloved game show. Tuesday, Sept. 10, marks the 40th anniversary of Trebek joining the series as the host, replacing Art Fleming as Jeopardy! moved to a daily syndicated version.

Do you remember the first episode with Trebek in 1984? Turns out there were a few other unaired pilots from 1983 and 1984, and things were a little different. The pilot from 1983 was recorded on Sept. 18 at the TAV Celebrity Theater and seems a bit more subdued. By the next pilot on Jan. 1, 1984, you can tell the music is more upbeat and the lights brighter, hoping to bring some excitement to the quiz show. Both episodes certainly look different than they do today! In the last 40 years, technology has improved greatly and fashion choices are different. Do you think the trivia has gotten harder or easier?

The episodes feature different announcers, contestants and quiz material. Trebek was already a game show legend by the time he got the gig on Jeopardy! He hosted several game shows in both the United States and Canada and received the job from Jeopardy! creator Merv Griffin based on a recommendation from Lucille Ball. He hosted over 8,200 episodes before his death in 2020. He still holds the Guinness World Record for hosting the most episodes of any single game show.

CBS may have found the cooking competition series that it's been looking for – from Padma Lakshmi and former NBCU content chief Susan Rovner. The network has struck a development deal with the pair for a new food format that marks the first project to be baked up by Rovner's new production company Aha Studios. There are few details about the format itself, but the Paramount-owned network has been looking for its own series to rival the likes of Top Chef and MasterChef.

Amy Reisenbach, President of CBS Entertainment, revealed to Deadline in June that she wanted her network to get into the food space. "We have definitely talked about trying to find our version of a cooking show. I'm personally a big fan of them," she said.

The new series will come from Lakshmi's Delicious Entertainment and Rovner's Aha Studios with both exec producing. Lakshmi will also host the series. Lakshmi and Rovner worked together when the former was the host and exec producer of Bravo's Top Chef and Rovner was Chairman of Entertainment Content across NBCUniversal's Television and Streaming division.

Lakshmi is the creator of Hulu series Taste The Nation, which has run for two seasons, and is best known as host and exec producer of Top Chef, which she worked on for 19 seasons and left last year. Lakshmi drew five Emmy nominations for Outstanding Host for A Reality-Competition Program for her role on Top Chef, which was nominated for 47 Emmys during her tenure. She is also the author of cook books Easy Exotic and Tangy, Tart, Hot & Sweet as well as kids books Tomatoes for Neela and memoir Love, Loss and What We Ate.

Rovner recently launched Aha Studios, where she is CEO, a production company that works across scripted, unscripted and documentary content. She was Chairman, Entertainment Content, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming from 2020 to 2023, working across NBC, cable networks including Bravo, USA Network and E! and Peacock, where she was responsible for greenlighting series such as Night Court, Ted, Traitors and Poker Face. Before that, she was President of Warner Bros. Television.

The BBC has unveiled its latest big entertainment bet, an adventure dating format birthed by the creators of Married at First Sight.

Airing next year, Stranded on Honeymoon Island, which has already made its way to a number of territories, will see 12 single people matched into couples and then stranded on a deserted island.

On remote beaches, the fledgling relationships are put to the test as couples live together and fend for themselves with few resources. Marooned and alone, they must communicate and collaborate to get by.

The UK version will be produced by Married at First Sight UK and Love is Blind UK producer CPL Productions. The format was forged by Danish Married at First Sight creator Snowman Productions and has since been ordered in Germany, Portugal, the Netherlands, Czech Republic and Australia.

Kalpna Patel-Knight, BBC Head of Entertainment, said: "This unique new dating series will see couples who have previously been unlucky in love being paired up and sent straight on their honeymoon with no phone, no apps and no contact with the outside world – let's see if they can make it work on their desert island and find love."

Stranded on Honeymoon Island (12 x 60') was commissioned by Patel-Knight. EPs for CPL are Murray Boland, Danielle Lux, Dermot Caulfield and Rachel Viner. The Commissioning Editors for the BBC are Katie Taylor and Chantal Boyle. Snowman, CPL and Seven. One Studios International are all part of Seven. One Studios. Stranded on Honeymoon Island is distributed by Seven. One Studios International.
