Me: Welcome to Game Show Live! Let's get right into it with.......

The  Talking Through The Medias opening toss up story.

Reservation Dogs, The Gilded Age and The Traitors finally made the cut for the top categories, while Shōgun, The Bear and Abbott Elementary lived up to expectations that they would earn nominations for the 76th annual Emmy Awards, which were unveiled Wednesday morning.

Announced this morning from the El Capitan theatre in Hollywood, the nominations also included shout-outs for Netflix's addictive but controversial limited series Baby Reindeer, along with well-deserved noms for the fourth season of True Detective featuring Jodie Foster. The limited series race, in fact, is shaping up to be an exciting one, with Netflix's Ripley competing against Reindeer along FX's Fargo, Apple's Lessons in Chemistry and HBO's True Detective: Night Country.

If it seems like the 75th Emmys just happened, it's because they pretty much just did. The 2023 ceremony, after being delayed due to the impact of the Hollywood strikes, took place January 15 — right as the film awards season was ramping up. For this year, the Emmys return to their regular September slot: the 2024 Emmys ceremony is September 15 live on ABC. No host for that yet.

Amy: Some members of our viewing audience will receive......

Potato chips from Aldi. If you get Clancy's BBQ chips, it's $1.69 in stores everywhere. It saves more money than Doritos. Now we dip back into it with Pierre Kelly.

Me: Oh hey, we're back everyone.

Big special shout out goes to.....

Tammy Tuckey. She spent 10 years doing The Tiara Talk show but that later parlayed into this.............

That podcast became a live talk show and with it, bringing the same spirit to it. She is also a singer, filmmaker, other stuff that she does. We'll get to her music after the Mistplay game break, but more recently.................

If The Fairly Oddparents make a musical, they might hire her. Tammy Tuckey. Dis-nerd, podcast geek and someone who knows musicals.

Five years ago, Chloe Veitch was a model from Clacton-on-Sea in the UK with aspirations to make it on a reality show.

After appearing on and winning spicy dating show Too Hot To Handle, she quickly became a major figure in the Netflix Reality Universe, becoming runner up on The Circle and a finalist on Perfect Match.

Veitch, who recently moved to Los Angeles, is now hosting Netflix's next big dating social experiment– Sneaky Links: Dating After Dark

"Honestly, if I spoke to a 13-year-old me back in the day and said that this is going to be my life, she would cry, she would not believe me. I literally came from nothing. The fluke, the luckiness of me modeling to being cast in Netflix reality shows back-to-back-to-back for five years and then to be the host of a dating show, I can't believe it, it's insane. It's what I'm meant to do," Veitch told Deadline.

For those unaware of the phenomenon, a sneaky link is essentially a regular late-night casual hook up. The ten-part show will ask contestants 'Is your sneaky link 'the one' or are they getting in the way of you finding the one?'

Spicy Mari, founder of the relationship consulting firm The Spicy Life, who has appeared on MTV's The Love Experiment and Paramount+'s Love Allways, also stars in the show as a dating and relationship expert.

It comes from Love Island producer ITV America and Nobody's Hero, the company behind Netflix's Howie Mandel-fronted Bullsh*t: The Game Show and Snack vs. Chef. Founders Christopher Potts and Jonty Nash, who have a deal with ITV America, exec produce alongside ITV America's Bernie Schaeffer as well as Too Hot To Handle showrunner Viki Kolar and Fboy Island exec producer Audrey E. Smith.

The show, which is set to premiere in summer 2025, joins Netflix's swathe of dating shows, which also include Love is Blind, The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On, The Ultimatum: Queer Love and Love on the Spectrum.

Although the show was ordered before the arrival of new reality boss Jeff Gaspin, it is in line with his strategy of searching for broadcast-style shows that have a "fresh take on the familiar".

Bit of a slow news day, but I asked a camera guy to find a production designer for Press Your Luck...........................And here he is.

It's MistPlay game break time. What's this Disney character?

Find out after we get Tammy Tuckey into the Spotify soundstage. I told you she's a singer and here's why.

See? Now the answer. It is............Vanellope Von Schweetz voiced by comic Sarah Silverman in Wreck It Ralph.

It seems that our Insta-bombshell Spark of Edge found a hidden gem while on an adventure. This is what the end result was.

Lucky 13. A game show where getting 13 True or False questions mean it's not a big payday unless a prediction is made. Hosted by Shaquille O'Neal and Gina Rodriguez,  it's created by the people behind Millionaire. But Andrew Hain may have seen the first episode and here are his thoughts.

Created by Adrian Woolfe, founder and CEO of Studio 1 which will be distributing the show internationally, this show was first announced two years ago around this time as the “next big international game show phenomenon” with the hope to launch versions of the show around the world, similar to Who Wants To Be A Millionaire which Adrian helped create while at Celador whose formats are now owned by Sony Pictures Television and coincidentally, his former Studio 1 co-CEO and co-founder Claudia Rosencrantz ordered Millionaire while she was Controller of Entertainment at ITV. It also said that Kevin Bacon who also serves as an executive producer would potentially host the show but that ultimately wasn’t the case. About a year later, pilots were shot for versions in Britain, America, and Germany at Dock10 Studios at MediaCityUK in Salford just outside of Manchester. After several months of nothing happening, I thought that the show would never see the light of day as a series. Then in April, when I saw that a new game show from Studio 1 was casting, even though it didn’t say the name, it did say about true-or-false questions and I figured that Lucky 13 would be happening after all and it was announced by ABC not too long after that along with Shaq and Gina as hosts. I had hoped to go to a taping and meet Shaq and Gina but it tapes at Worre Studios in Las Vegas which is not as far as where most newer game shows have taped including those that tape overseas but it was a little too far away for me and my parents and I would’ve loved if it taped at Television City because Studio 36 and Studio 46 would’ve been big enough for the set to fit in one of those soundstages since both of them are about the same size as Studio 1 at Dock10. I honestly thought they would use different dollar amounts for each individual number the contestant predicts which would mean that being off by even one one way or the other would cause the contestant to leave with nothing but that would’ve made the game even harder. I might’ve also wanted to see slightly bigger amounts for the lower levels and maybe double the amount for getting the exact number in the range. But none of that really matters because I love big money game shows, especially those that give away $1,000,000. The set designed by Patrick Doherty is amazing and of course you have to love the music written by game show music extraordinaire Paul Farrer, best known for writing the music for Weakest Link and The Chase as well as The Wheel which was the show that helped me connect with him thanks to Jeff Apploff who helped me and my parents meet Michael McIntyre at our taping of that show where Michael named me the Game Show Guru. The chemistry between Shaq and Gina is amazing and you have to love the height difference between them (7 ft.+ for Shaq and 5 ft.+ for Gina, kind of reminds me of a picture I saw of Shaq with Simone Biles who is just about the same height as Gina). Overall, the show is absolutely amazing and I love it so much! Congratulations to Shaq, Gina, Adrian, Kevin, and fellow executive producers Glenn Coomber, Mark Wells, Marcus Lemonis, Aaron Stone, Alastair Burlingham, and Gary Raskin, director Ollie Bartlett, consulting producers (and de facto head writers) Aaron Solomon and Andrew Robbins, content producers (sadly this show is not WGA even though it is very well-written) Grant Taylor, Ryan Hopak, and Mia Taylor, the contestant team led by Christina Louviere, the casting team led by Matt Vener, creative consultant Neale Simpson, supervising edit producer Jenny Stephenson Diprose, and the entire team for putting together such an amazing show! Let’s hope that we can now get a British version on ITV and a German version on RTL as well as a French version on TF1 among several other versions! Coincidentally, all those networks mentioned aired their country’s version of Millionaire so hopefully it only makes sense that they air their version of Lucky 13 as well!
As the Game Show Guru, I give Lucky 13 a ten out of ten dollar signs!
