Opening Theme

Amy Irons: From around the world....across the country....and in your neighborhoods, NOW......in its 7th consecutive year, this is.................................

And now, the (Nearly) world-famous contestant...Pierre Kelly!

Me: Welcome to Game Show Live! Let's get right into it with.......

The  Talking Through The Medias opening toss up story.

It was the game show answer that nearly broke the Internet: Tavaris Williams, eager to solve one of the word puzzles on Wheel of Fortune, gave an answer that wasn't quite ready for prime time. The board looked like this:

_ _ _ _ / I _
T _ E /B _ _ T!

His guess for the correct phrase? "Right in the butt." But while some in the audience gasped – and one of Williams' competitors said, incredulously, "Whaaat!?" – host Pat Sajak simply answered "no," smoothly moving on to the next contestant, who figured out the correct answer. (The solution was, for the record, "This is the best!")

That incident aired on the show less than two weeks ago, going viral on social media and giving Williams enough visibility to land on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he complimented Sajak for making him feel better and joking about it all, despite such an embarrassing flub.

But that's been Sajak's secret weapon over 41 seasons and more than 8,000 shows hosting the TV version of a Hangman-style wordgame. He leverages an easygoing, affable nature that helps move the show easily past any rough spots — whether it's a contestant who loses thousands of dollars after mispronouncing an answer or a competitor who knows the show so well, he solves the puzzle and grabs his reward with no prompting from the host. (Sajak quipped, "There's really no need for me at all.")

Sajak, the longtime host of Wheel of Fortune, has signed off to viewers after four decades of asking contestants if they "would like to buy a vowel" on the quiz show.

In a video, Sajak called it "an incredible privilege to be invited into millions of homes, night after night, year after year, decade after decade". His final episode aired Friday.

Sajak, 77, has recorded more than 8,000 episodes of Wheel of Fortune and has been a constant presence in American media since taking over the host role in 1981.

In 2018, he became the longest-running host of a game show, surpassing The Price Is Right's Bob Barker.

In 1983, co-host Vanna White joined him for the version of the show familiar to viewers today.

In his sign-off video, Sajak said: "I always felt that the privilege came with the responsibility to keep this daily half-hour a safe place for family fun. No social issues. No politics.

"Nothing embarrassing, I hope. Just a game."

"But gradually it became more than that — a place where kids learn their letters, where people from other countries honed their English skills, where families came together, along with friends and neighbors and entire generations."

"What an honor to play even a small part in all of that," he said, adding: "Thank you for allowing me into your lives."

Vanna White is bidding a fond farewell to her longtime Wheel of Fortune cohost Pat Sajak ahead of his final show on Friday.

In a preview clip from tonight's episode posted on YouTube, White describes Sajak as both a "brother" and a "lifelong" friend and becomes visibly emotional as she reflects on their 41-year run together.

"I can't believe that tomorrow is our last show together," White says. "I don't know how to put into words what these past 41 years have meant to me, but I'm gonna try — 8,000 episodes went by like that."

White recalls that she was "so green" when she made her debut on the game show in 1982 but that Sajak "made me so comfortable and made me so confident" on set. "You made me who I am," she says. "You really did."

The pair have not only "grown up on television" together in the years since, White says, but also "shared so much more behind the scenes" along the way.

"As much fun as we had on camera, those memories, milestones, and life events we shared with our families outside the studio are my favorite," she says. "We've watched our children grow up together. We've traveled all over the world. We've eaten hundreds of meals together. We've laughed, we've cried, we've celebrated."

White then gets choked up. "Oh gosh," she says as her voice wavers. "What an incredible and unforgettable journey we've had, and I've enjoyed every minute of it with you."

All in all, Sajak did not go quietly.

"I think most people know this is my last evening on the show," Sajak said after the first round. "At the end of the show, I have a few things I'd like to say, so we need to save a little time. How do we do that?"

His solution was to cut one of the episode's usual rounds, but since doing so would rob the contestants of winning some money, he decided to throw them a bone.

"I'm going to spin the wheel, add $1,000 to whatever I land on, and give everyone that amount," he announced. Shockingly, he landed on the coveted $1,000 spot, which meant that all three contestants should have had $2,000 added to their score. But on Sajak's last night, that just wasn't enough.

"You know what? It's not my money," he said. "Let's give them all $5,000! Little Jimmy's surgery can wait."

Ryan Seacrest paid tribute to Sajak today on social media following the broadcast of Sajak's final episode as host of Wheel of Fortune.

In an Instagram post, Seacrest – who will take over as host of the show — said Sajak was a "standard for hosts everywhere."

"Pat, congratulations on an incredible run with Wheel of Fortune!" Seacrest said in the caption to his Instagram post, which ran alongside a photograph of himself, Sajak, and Vanna White. "Your dedication, charm, and wit have made the show a beloved part of American television for decades," Seacrest wrote. "Your partnership with Vanna has been nothing short of iconic, and together, you've created countless wonderful memories for viewers."

"You've set the standard for hosts everywhere, and this marks the end of an era," he concluded. "Best wishes for all your future endeavors!"

Remember last year when Cameron Mathison took Drew Cain away from General Hospital after he got out of Pentonville? While Drew was taking care of his personal business in Australia, his portrayer was taping a new game show — Beat The Bridge — which debuts tonight on The Game Show Network.

Based on the hit BBC show Bridge of Lies, Beat The Bridge features a gigantic interactive bridge that contestants attempt to cross, hoping to win money in their team's bank. Team members only get to keep accumulated money if they "beat the bridge."

"My career has really been about 50% acting and 50% hosting with reality shows, and talk shows," the actor/host tells Soap Hub. The fan-favorite adds that hosting a game show is a good fit in that he brings energy and enthusiasm to his new role. Mathison's gregarious manner makes him a natural to interact with players who are hoping to win some money.

The premiere of the series topped all original series on Game Show Network for the day, scoring 394,000 viewers with an 18-49 rating of 0.3.

Survivor is close to heading into its 50th season.

CBS just finished airing Season 46 but the network is already thinking ahead.

"We're already talking about Season 50 for Survivor. We just wrapped up Season 47 in Fiji. I was texting with Jeff [Probst] last night and he said there's some pretty epic blindsides coming up. I think this show can go on for a really long time," CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach told Deadline.

Reisenbach, who was speaking Tuesday at a Deadline-moderated panel at the Banff World Media Festival, said Season 50 will start shooting next spring.

"We will absolutely be celebrating and I would consider it kind of a year-long celebration. We do that really well on CBS. We will have a lot of plans in the works… it'd be the first time in the new era that will have returning players. That's really exciting," she added.

Probst revealed recently that Season 50, which will likely air in spring 2026, will feature all returning players.

Survivor is exec produced by Probst, Mark Burnett, Matt VanWagenen, Kahaia Pearson and Jesse Jensen. It is produced by S.E.G. Holdco.

Rita Ora is not giving her final guess on The Masked Singer stage just yet.

The British singer-songwriter, who first joined the hit disguised celebrity singing show in season 11 to replace Nicole Scherzinger, will be returning as a panelist once more in its upcoming 12th season, Entertainment Weekly reports.

The show welcomes her back alongside series mainstays Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy-Walhberg, Robin Thicke, and host Nick Cannon.

Although Scherzinger will not be returning to the judges' desk this time around, it's understood that no casting decisions have been made for any future seasons beyond season 12, and the door is open for her return. Scherzinger's representatives have yet to comment.

Channel 4 has ordered a pilot episode of the James Acaster quiz show People Person.

Chortle first revealed the comedian was developing the format for television in February, when he hosted a run-through in London. Now a one-hour version is to be filmed – but not aired – to try out the format in which a panel of comedians have to answer questions about a line-up of ordinary people.

It is based on a game Acaster played on the Dave show Question Team in 2021.

Then he asked his fellow comics to guess which one of his people had the biggest garden, the most battery life left on their phones and who the most friends. And for the final question they had to guess who would bring a chocolate bar back to the studio first.

Acaster said: 'This is more than just a pilot. It's the co-pilot, flight attendants, passengers and the bloke with the paddles on the runway. This is about people. And I'm a people person. Let's do this'.

Channel 4 commissioning editor Cimran Shah said the show was a 'simple, scalable and clever concept with stellar talent attached and a clear opportunity to develop a new generation of channel-defining comedians'.

The show is being made by Tuesday's Child Scotland and Interstellar, which made Question Team with Screen Scotland helping to finance the pilot.
