And now, the (Nearly) world-famous contestant...Pierre Kelly!

Me: Welcome to Game Show Live! Let's get right into it with.......

The  Talking Through The Medias opening toss up story.

Jeopardy! is hosting its first-ever invitational tournament, and the field of contestants is set.

The new tournament, casually dubbed JIT, will debut the day after the current Tournament of Champions concludes. It will feature a cadre of champions and fan-favorite trivia masters battling for a $100,000 prize and an invitation to compete in the 2024 Jeopardy Masters primetime event.

The list of competitors includes the internet's favorite Jeopardy competitor (all apologies to Buzzy), Austin Rogers, as well as the players who finished fourth, fifth, and sixth in the 2023 Jeopardy Masters tournament, Andrew He, Amy Schneider, and Sam Buttrey.

The JIT will take place across nine quarterfinal games, three semifinals, and a "best of four" format finale, where the first to win two games takes the JIT crown and scepter (real crown and scepter not included).

Other players who got the elusive invitational invitation include Brandon Blackwell (who is currently on The Chase), Colby Burnett, Lily Chin, Arthur Chu, Leonard Cooper, Celeste DiNucci, Chuck Forrest, Dhruv Gaur, Victoria Groce (also on The Chase right now), Ben Ingram, Matt Jackson, Alex Jacob, Mackenzie Jones, Sam Kavanaugh, Larissa Kelly, Alan Lin, David Madden, Pam Mueller, Terry O'Shea, Dan Pawson, Jennifer Quail, Amy Schneider, Monica Thieu, and Jason Zuffranieri.

The new tournament could start as early as Mar. 14 or as late as Mar. 20, depending on when the Tournament of Champions wraps up.

"One thing we knew is we wanted to make this field big; we wanted to include as many champions as we could," producer Sarah Whitcomb Foss explained on the "Inside Jeopardy!" podcast. "Of course, we couldn't include everyone. We had gone pre-2022 TOC season. We were looking for those people who hadn't had a chance yet to make it into the Masters pyramid."

She added, "Of course, there were folks who we reached out to who weren't available for a number of different reasons. I want to make sure everyone knows that Brad Rutter, Julia Collins, Roger Craig, and Emma Boettcher all did receive invites. And for a variety of reasons, they weren't able to compete with us in this JIT, but we certainly hope we'll be able to welcome them back at a future one."

We had a good party over at Ayedeniz Gokchin's house and one particular game show alum showed up to make it more hipper and fresher. I'll let you roll the tape.

David Tennant has confirmed his next TV role. The Doctor Who star will front new ITV game show Genius Game, which will see "the country's most brilliant minds" take part in challenges in order to win a cash prize.

Contestants, chosen due to their "high intellectual prowess" and "social IQ" will take part in unique, never-before-seen games to test these skills head-to-head in the show which originated in Korea.

BAFTA (Doctor Who, The Escape Artist) and Emmy (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Des) Award-winning actor Tennant will take on the role of The Creator in the eight-part series, guiding players through each challenge.

Katie Rawcliffe, Head of Entertainment at ITV, said the show will be nerve-racking not just for the players, but also those watching at home.

"This exciting reality format is designed to keep not just the players but the audience on the edge of their seats with each episode containing compelling gameplay and thrilling twists," she said.

Rawcliffe went on to praise Tennant's casting on the show, adding: "David Tennant is the perfect ringmaster to preside over this battle of brainpower, teamwork and deception. We're delighted to be bringing Genius Game to the ITV audience."

Tamara Gilder, joint MD of Remarkable added: "We are so thrilled that David will be guiding the players through the twists and turns of the show. There's nothing quite like Genius Game, it's smart and funny – just like he is – he's the perfect frontman."

A release date for the show has not yet been announced.

Yo, hold up!

Fremantle has acquired global production rights to the Japanese format "Freeze."

The high-energy comedic game show, which has aired for two seasons in Japan, was developed and produced by FANY Studio and Yoshimoto Kogyo for Amazon Prime Video. It is FANY Studio's first global deal since it was set up in May 2023.

In "Freeze," contestants battle it out for a grand prize. The rules are simple: Players enter a closed room and simply must "freeze" until the presenter releases them. With traps and tricks along the way that provoke reaction from the players, such as flying mannequins and giant popping balloons, only those who remain still, will survive to battle it out for a place in the grand finale. Those who move, laugh or react the most will be eliminated. The player who remains still for the longest time throughout the game is crowned the winner and will receive a prize.

Vasha Wallace, exec VP global acquisitions and development at Fremantle, said: "When the team at FANY Studio first showed us a clip of 'Freeze,' we all thought it was hilarious and we knew this would resonate with audiences everywhere." Wallace added: "'Freeze' is all about having nerves of steel and a fun and unique mechanism that is bound to keep viewers of all ages entertained."

Mari Kawamura, head of global business at FANY Studio, said: "Many Japanese children grew up playing games 'Freeze (Do Not Move)' with their friends, and we believe this simple rule is universal which can make audiences laugh."

The Dancing on Ice star is joining forces with naturalist Bear Grylls for Bear Hunt, a new reality format taking place in a Central American jungle.

The series will premiere on the streaming service next year, with more information on the celebrity cast to follow.

Nice gals and FGirls, it's time for a rebrand: you will henceforth be known as Lovers and Liars!

EW can exclusively report the three leads of the FBoy Island spinoff formerly known as FGirl Island — and they're all familiar faces. FBoy Island season 1's Casey Johnson, season 2's Benedict Polizzi, and season 3's CJ Weathers will be tasked with deciding who of the 24 women that join them are looking for love, and who are just in it for the chance to win $100,000.

If you're caught up on the title switch from FGirl Island to Lovers and Liars, don't worry. In the exclusive video below, host Nikki Glaser is a little bit, too: "One might think this show is called FGirl Island, but it's not, you silly goose. You wish!"

"All of us are immensely proud to present Lovers and Liars, a show that is definitely not FGirl Island," executive producer Elan Gale tells EW. "Honestly, we have no idea where that rumor came from. We've never even heard of her. She doesn't even go here."

The men are looking forward to flipping the script on the FBoy Island format. "It feels a whole lot better when 24 girls are dating YOU," Benedict — who made it to the finale of season 2 as a Nice Guy and made a second appearance in season 3 as an FBoy — tells EW, adding that "it's a relief knowing I'm not gonna get eliminated just [because] of my resting FBoy face."

CJ calls Lovers and Liars a "full 360" from his experience on FBoy Island. "I was in control of my destiny and could make a decision," he tells EW. Casey adds that while it was nice not to be worried about being sent home, there was now "a fear or picking the wrong girl, which is equally worrisome."

Power up!

France's W9 is preparing to launch a new gameshow from European prodco Dreamspark and RTL Group-owned Studio 89.

The Power is set in an isolated house and features 13 celebrities who must live together while facing a series of challenges.

However, each week one of the contestants gains control over the house – with power over what they eat, when they sleep and who faces which challenges.

The contestant will also pick out a single player for elimination, whose only chance of survival is to guess who the player with the power is. It will debut on RTL-owned W9 at the start of April.

Moe Bennani, CEO of Dreamspark & executive producer on The Power, said the show "is born from a simple yet profound question that resonates through the corridors of our society: Who really holds the power?"

Season two of Wait, What Happened?, a trivia game show hosted by Frank Nicotero that streams on Hearst Television's Very Local app, debuts March 13. The first six of the 10 episodes are set in Cincinnati, while the remaining four are set in New Orleans.

Season one saw Nicotero in Orlando and Pittsburgh.

Nicotero quizzes people on the street about the news, including some pretty out-there stories. Correct answers build up a jackpot. He said the Cincinnati shows have some real pop. Growing up in Pittsburgh, Nicotero said Cincy was a five-hour drive, and he performed frequently at the Cincy comedy club Funny Bone.

"I've always loved Cincinnati," he said. Wait, What Happened? shot both in Cincy and across the river and border in Kentucky.

"These are our best shows," Nicotero said. "We had the best contestants. We had great shots. They were just the funniest people we had, even more than the first season."
