Opening Theme

Colbi King: From coast to coast and around the world, welcome to....

Now, America's favorite contestant, Pierre Kelly!

Me:Welcome everybody to Game Show Live! where we get lit and get involved. Let's kick it off with......

The  Talking Through The Medias opening toss up story.

Five Big Brother winners, three America's Favorite Players, two runners-up and a partridge in a pear tree will compete on this month's Reindeer Games spinoff.

CBS on Thursday announced the full lineup of nine BB alumni who will return for the upcoming holiday-themed offshoot, premiering Monday, Dec. 11, at 9/8c and spanning six episodes over two weeks. Here's who will battle it out for the $100,000 grand prize:
* Cody Calafiore, Season 22 winner and Season 16 runner-up
* Nicole Franzel, Season 18 winner and Season 16/Season 22 houseguest
* Frankie Grande, Season 16 houseguest
* Taylor Hale, Season 24 winner and America's Favorite Player
* Cameron Hardin, Season 25 America's Favorite Player
* Britney Haynes, Season 12 America's Favorite Player and Season 14 houseguest
* Josh Martinez, Season 19 winner
* Xavier Prather, Season 23 winner
* Danielle Reyes, Season 3 runner-up and Season 7 houseguest

Those nine vets join Season 23's Tiffany Mitchell and Derek Xiao and Season 11 winner Jordan Lloyd, who will play the roles of Magical Elves during the two-week contest. In each episode, players will face off in three competitions, culminating in Santa's Showdown that will determine which player goes home at the end of that episode.

As previously reported, Big Brother Reindeer Games will be very unlike its mothership series: Players won't live in a house together, will not vote each other out, and there won't be any live feeds or live broadcasts. Plus, the three elves will take the place of usual host Julie Chen Moonves.

Me: And we're so back to Live! Reminder here, next week is the Game Show Live! honors where we take a look back and find out who won the year it was in game shows.

(Song stops)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I needed a shoutout before we get to the honors next week and with that...............

A big special shout out goes to...............

This person right here.

His name is John Venturini. You know him every once in a while on either Playing With Heart, Paul Burke's channel or................somewhere else. His own channel made him wanted to do his own show like this one.

4 years sober, he's also........if I'm not mistaken, a game show fanatic like me. Here.....is his story.

Growing up, game shows were my constant companions, from the redemption story of Jack Barry in "The Joker's Wild" to the ever-charming Wink Martindale on "Tic Tac Dough." And who could forget the legendary Bill Cullen, the original host of "The Price Is Right"?

But if there's one name that truly shaped my childhood, it's Bob Barker. To me, he was more than just a host; he was like a babysitter, teaching me to find joy in the simplest things, to celebrate others' successes, and to cherish our furry friends. I religiously watched "The Price Is Right," even recording episodes during college to catch up after classes.

Bob's recent passing, just shy of his 100th birthday, feels like the end of an era. But in true "Price Is Right" fashion, I'd like to think of it as him hitting the jackpot on the Showcase Showdown's Big Wheel. Bob, thank you for the countless memories. And yes, we'll continue to heed your advice about our pets.

And we'll get to that moment in our Warp Ahead later. If John would ever end up working for GSN or Buzzr, he MAY be the one. Good on you, Johnny.

Netflix wants the BBC to call this out.

Netflix is taking on The Traitors at its own game. The streamer has ordered The Trust, an eight-part reality series that delves into the theme of greed.

Eleven strangers are given a quarter of a million dollars to split evenly. Will they take their fair share? Or will the allure of more money cause them to vote each other out to keep more for themselves? It's the ultimate test of human nature, as greed and mistrust threaten to destroy even the strongest of relationships. In this game, everyone starts as winners and they can all leave as winners – if they choose to share.

It's described as a cross between Peacock's Alan Cumming-hosted hit and Big Brother. The series is hosted by Brooke Baldwin, who previously hosted CNN Newsroom and left the news broadcaster in 2021.

It will launch on January 10, 2024 and will air in batches with new episodes available weekly for a three week event.

The Trust is produced by Grandma's House Entertainment, the company behind E!'s Catching Kelce and TBS' The Misery Index, and Lighthearted Entertainment, the company behind The Big D and MTV's Are You The One?

Ben Newmark, Dan Newmark, Jeff Spangler, Rob LaPlante, David Friedman serve as exec producers.

Comic actor Paul "Pee-Wee Herman" Reubens and drag queen RuPaul were among the up-and-coming talents who got an early break on "The Gong Show." Author Adam Nedeff recounts this in publisher BearManor Media's newest title, "Gong This Book," an in-depth behind-the-scenes history of the classic 1970s television series.

For his research, Nedeff conducted interviews with numerous members of "The Gong Show" on-air family, who contributed their memories for the book. Among them: judges Jamie Farr and Jo Anne Worley; The Unknown Comic; Confusion the Philosopher; Count Banjola; Rhetch Butler; Scarlett O'Hara; Larry and His Magic Trumpet; Mike the Vike; musician Danny Lies who played the ham; and Paul Zeglar, whose performance of "Yankee Doodle" on a tea kettle led TV Guide to dub him one of the worst acts ever featured on the show

This...........Just in.

The BBC has revealed a first look for season 2 of show "The Traitors." Season 1 was a huge success and won two BAFTAs, including for host Claudia Winkleman. Set in a Scottish castle, the format sees 22 strangers compete in a series of missions for a chance to win £120,000 ($151,000). However, amongst the players lie the 'Traitors,' who meet in secret and decide who to eliminate from their fellow players known as 'Faithfuls.'

"The Traitors" will return on Jan. 3, 2024 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer and episodes two and three will be available on iPlayer immediately after. The show will air on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights.

The BBC is also launching a podcast "The Traitors: Uncloaked," hosted by stand up comedian and presenter Ed Gamble, that will take fans of the show deeper into the castle with dissection of the episodes and exclusive access to the banished and murdered players.

Back to Bob Barker for just a second.

You can't put a price on personality. Bob Barker's was beyond compare, a display of unflappable charm, graciousness and good humor no matter the circumstance. With nary a hair out of place, never losing his cool even when frenzied contestants lost their minds, the dapper Barker was the ultimate TV host, receiving 19 Daytime Emmys. Little wonder a "W.G.M.C." (World's Greatest Master of Ceremonies) sign hung on his dressing room door for years. "When people asked me how I made a living, I told them I made a living creating spontaneous entertainment with unrehearsed contestants," he wrote with characteristic modesty in his 2009 memoir, Priceless Memories, published two years after he ended his 35-year run as host of CBS' enduring The Price Is Right.

The opportunities were pretty much endless on Price, with contestants hugging, kissing and even chasing him around the stage in their excitement to meet their idol and play those pricing games. As befits a cultural icon, Barker enjoyed sending up his wholesome image — memorably sparring with Adam Sandler in 1996's Happy Gilmore and also appearing as himself on TV comedies How I Met Your Mother, Futurama (as a preserved head) and Family Guy.

"The South Dakota Hall of Fame is proud and honored to recognize Bob Barker and to have him inducted into the Hall of Fame," South Dakota Hall of Fame CEO Laurie Becvar told Keloland. "His life and his legacy will forever live in our state."

The Price is Right channel (exclusively on Pluto TV, with host Drew Carey) will present The Price Is Right: A Tribute to Bob Barker, starting at 5:00 p.m. ET on December 12th.

Meanwhile, The Strong National Museum of Play has a special "Price is Right" display at the museum in honor of the longtime host. It was made using items from the National Archive of Game Show History collection. It's made up of an original "any number" from the set of the show, historic photos, original tickets and more.

The Strong plans to open a game show history exhibit in 2026.

If he could choose his own legacy, it would doubtless be as an outspoken animal-rights activist. He famously ended each episode of Price with a reminder to "have your pets spayed or neutered" to control the pet population. It's even the last line of his memoir. Remember that the next time you watch someone excitably play Price's popular game Plinko.

It's time for the Mistplay Game Break. What's this Hallmark movie from this synopsis?

Sam babysits his niece and nephew before the holidays, and when he recruits help from their handsome neighbor Jason, he finds himself in an unexpected romance.

What's the movie? Find out after we let Rod Kim into the Spotify Soundstage. This is just in time for the holidays.

And what is that answer?

That movie stars Jonathan Bennett who you may recognize from Mean Girls.

What if NPR was in the year......2168? We'd all be dead by then but the BBC would spinoff channels like BBC Radio Scotland getting their own cities and whatnot. But you imagine and hear it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bob Barker would've been 100 this past week and this clip from TPIR shows us why he is MUCH better than Drew. It's the  Game Show Live!......
