Strike Watch.

After a busy weekend of negotiations between SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP to close a new three-year contract, the striking actors union and the studios are stepping back for a day.

In a missive sent to members earlier Sunday and obtained by Deadline, the Fran Drescher-led SAG-AFTRA said: "Over the course of the weekend, we have discussed all open proposals, including AI, with the AMPTP." The TV/Theatrical Negotiating Committee of the 160,000-strong union went on to say, "Both parties will be working independently Monday and re-engage on scheduling at the end of the day. Join us and flood picket lines in the morning. Make your voices heard."

There's real optimism in Hollywood that the actors and the studios are inching closer to a deal that would end the strike.

Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, SAG-AFTRA's chief negotiator, told Deadline that talks over the weekend have been "productive" and he remains "cautiously optimistic about making progress" but warned that the guild and the AMPTP are not just "dotting I's and crossing T's" just yet.

He added that AI is the current focus of talks.

"We worked all weekend, working with the company reps to try and move the ball forward. I remain cautiously optimistic about making progress. We are not there yet. So, any rumors that have been floating around that deal was imminent… we have real substantive issues still between us, but we are working to make progress. We're going to be continuing this week as it takes until it's done. But those issues are important and so there is no agreement until we reach that point," he told Deadline outside Netflix, where around 150 strikers were dressed in professional attire to show that they mean business.

He admitted that the mood of discussions are "intense" but in a "productive direction".

"People seem to think we're at a point where we're just dotting I's and crossing T's. That's not the situation, there are substantive issues, we're still working hard to bridge real gaps. But the dialogue has been productive and constructive. We're just gonna keep at it," he added. When asked how things stood with the revenue sharing proposal, Crabtree-Ireland pivoted to a different topic that appears to be the current focus of conversation.

"I will say that AI is really important in this negotiation, it has been since day one. That is an area that we are particularly focused on right now. Because without bridging some key gaps in AI, we won't be able to reach a deal. That is an important area we're focused on," he added.

Crabtree-Ireland wouldn't rule out a deal happening today but admitted that "anything is possible".

November 1st as of this writing is Dia De la Muertos and Jackbox Games decided to throw it's hat in the ring.

Let's Throw a Block party bonfire.

For the first time in Rock the Block history, four returning teams will get a shot at redemption as they compete to add the most value to Florida waterfront homes in a new season of HGTV's smash hit home renovation competition. During the fresh seven episodes, hosted by popular carpenter, craftsman and design expert Ty Pennington (Battle on the Beach), the pressure will be at an all-time high as the HGTV powerhouse duos return to Rock the Block seeking an epic renovation showdown to settle old scores and achieve victory - winning bragging rights and a street named in their honor. The new season is slated to premiere in March 2024.

Competitors will include renovation aces Bryan and Sarah Baeumler (Battle on the Beach); home renovation visionaries and partners Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas (Bargain Block); dynamic twin sisters and real estate and design experts Lyndsay Lamb and Leslie Davis (Unsellable Houses); and billion-dollar real estate broker and house-flipping expert Page Turner and contractor extraordinaire Mitch Glew (Fix My Flip). Each team will have just six weeks and a budget of $250,000 to renovate attached waterfront homes, each featuring a pool and boat dock, transforming them into luxurious homes that reflect their signature vision and stunning design style.

"The competition format is incredibly popular with our viewers, with the previous run of Rock the Block delivering HGTV's highest-rated title in the first quarter of 2023 among two coveted demos, Adults 25-54 and Women 25-54," said Loren Ruch, Head of Content, HGTV. "This season's four expert teams know what it takes to compete on the block, so we'll keep them on their toes and crank up the intensity with unexpected new challenges. Our stars are ready for a rematch and won't hold back to win it all."

The homes are being built by Blake Building in Treasure Island, Florida.

Fans can stream the first four seasons of Rock the Block on Max(R) and stay tuned for more new season updates on HGTV's digital platforms at HGTV.com and via @HGTV and #RocktheBlock on Facebook, X (formerly known as Twitter), Instagram, TikTok and Threads.

Rock the Block is produced by Big Table Media.

SPLIT SECOND Season Two will premiere on Monday, NOVEMBER 13 at 7:30 p.m. ET on Game Show Network and air weekdays.

This is John Michael Higgins' second show on Game Show Network. He previously hosted America Says, running for five seasons and over 500 episodes to date.

Based on a format from game show legend Monty Hall, Spilt Second asks three contestants to decide in a split second which of three general interest trivia questions they can answer. The first player to buzz in gets the first pick, and the last player is left to answer whatever is left, which is often the most difficult. The player with the fastest response time and the highest success rate answering questions over the first three rounds advances to the bonus game where their ability to answer a rapid-fire series of questions could win them $10,000. SPLIT SECOND is produced by Game Show Enterprises Studios with Michael Binkow as executive producer. Nancy Glass, Marcus Lemonis, and Sharon Hall also serve as executive producers for Marcus/Glass Productions. John Michael Higgins serves as host and executive producer.

There have been bumps along the way, but Squid Game: The Challenge has pushed on and today's teaser shows the 456 contestants competing in a range of games inspired by the hit Korean show – Netflix's most-watched of all time.

"Attention all players. It is now time for the next game." So begins the new trailer for Squid Game: The Challenge, dropped today by Netflix ahead of the reality series' November 22 premiere. It's an extended look at the competition series inspired by the hit Korean dystopian drama series, with some of the contestants showing surprise when they are "fake shot".

There's also surprise when contestants are told they need to eliminate two of their own.

Netflix's Squid Game reality series launches November 22 with record prize money of $4.56M.

Seth Rogen is swapping the film lot for the pottery studio.

The Dumb Money star has been set as a guest judge and executive producer on The Great Canadian Pottery Throw Down on CBC. Schitt's Creek star Jennifer Robertson has been named host of the CBC and CBC Gem series, which is set to launch in winter 2024.

The series, based on the UK format The Great Pottery Throw Down from Bake Off indie Love Productions, will see 10 amateur potters take on challenges to create beautiful pieces. Each episode will consist of two creative challenges that test their skill and technique, with one eliminated each week.

It was first unveiled in June as part of CBC's 2023-24 slate announcement, and was filmed this summer at a studio on Vancouver's Granville Island under the jurisdiction of ACTRA in Canada.

In the U.S., unscripted shows are covered under the SAG-AFTRA Network Television Code Agreement, which remains unstruck and runs through June 2024.

Rogen — who is a talented potter himself — will executive produce through his Point Grey Pictures imprint, which he runs with Evan Goldberg and James Weaver. He'll appear as a guest judge alongside Vancouver-based artist and ceramics instructor Brendan Tang and renowned ceramicist and educator Natalie Waddell.

It's been such a sad week. Matthew perry is gone, an incident in Lewiston, maine happened, the guy who played Bull on Night Court passed away and my Grizzlies have yet to win a game since the NBA season got started. I decided to crank up Franki Love in my office to lose myself in a trance but 40 years ago, 2 shows for the price of 1 came to NBC. I'm talking about the Match Game hollywood Squares Hour. And these stars were all there for a big parade in today's Game Show Live.....

Warp Ahead!

Too many stars to have a marathon taping session!
