Me:Welcome everybody to Game Show Live! where we get lit and get involved. Let's kick it off with......

The  Talking Through The Medias opening toss up story.

SAG-AFTRA has agreed to a last-minute call for federal mediation of its contract, but indicated it will not extend its deadline for deciding whether to go on strike beyond Wednesday at midnight.

That would appear to leave relatively little time for a mediator to avert a strike, which could begin as soon as Thursday morning.

In a statement on Tuesday afternoon, the union emphasized that "time is running out" and made clear that relations between the two sides have become extremely strained. "

The AMPTP has abused our trust and damaged the respect we have for them in this process," the union said. "We will not be manipulated by this cynical ploy to engineer an extension when the companies have had more than enough time to make a fair deal."

The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers proposed calling in the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service to help broker an agreement. Disney's Dana Walden and Alan Bergman, Warner Bros. Discovery's David Zaslav, Netflix's Ted Sarandos and Apple's Zack Van Amburg, held conference calls on Monday at which they approved the plan to seek mediation.

High-level agents, including CAA's Bryan Lourd and Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel, have also been active in trying to get the two sides to make progress.

"We are here to get a deal that ensures our members can earn a living wage in our expansive industry we help make possible with our work," the union said in its statment. "The AMPTP can make this happen at any time. They know what our members need and when they bring that to the table, we will be listening, but it's important to know – time is running out."

A SAG-AFTRA strike would shut down scripted TV and film production conducted by the AMPTP companies worldwide.

SAG-AFTRA members who have volunteered to be strike captains were out on the picket lines on Tuesday getting training from their brethren in the Writers Guild of America.

More developments.
- Thomas Schlamme said that the DGA's 19,000 members were in "complete and absolute support" of the WGA. "It would be somewhat disingenuous of me not to be in total support of this guild, since I owe a great deal of my career to the incredible writers that I have been so fortunate to work with. It has also been a (redacted) gift and often a cash cow to the companies that were lucky enough to produce their works, which is why those same companies, after SAG has hopefully wrestled them to the ground and gotten what they deserve, should get off their asses and get back in the room with the WGA."
- "Eight weeks is too long — It's time for a fair contract," said Carmen De La Rosa, one of 12 elected members of New York's 51-seat City Council who spoke at a demonstration in downtown Manhattan organized by the WGA East. De La Rosa on Thursday introduced a formal resolution that her colleagues will vote on calling for the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers to resume "good faith" negotiations with the WGA and settle their differences equitably.
- SAG-AFTRA leaders painted a sunny picture of their ongoing negotiations in a video released over the weekend, saying the talks have been "extremely productive" and promising to reach a "seminal deal." But according to multiple sources with knowledge of the dynamic in the negotiating room, the sides remain far apart on a range of key issues. With just a few days left before SAG-AFTRA's current contract expires on Friday, some are privately predicting that talks will be extended beyond the June 30 deadline, though such a move has not formally been broached in the negotiating room with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.
- The International Cinematographers Guild, IATSE Local 600, has created a Work Slowdown Hardship Fund for members in need of financial assistance because of the ongoing Writers Guild strike, which is now in its 59th day. Money will also be distributed from the fund if SAG-AFTRA goes on strike. Local 600 offered similar financial support to its membership at the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. The new fund allocates $250,000 – with an option to increase it to $500,000 – to provide grants of up to $1,000 to individual members of Local 600 in good standing who are in financial need due to work lost or delayed by any entertainment industry labor actions in 2023, including the ongoing WGA strike.
- The number of filming permits issued by New York City declined in June from previous months and fell sharply from a year ago amid a WGA strike and continued uncertainty over the status of SAG-AFTRA. The actors' contract with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers expired June 30 with no deal but the two sides agreeing to extend talks through June 12 — at 11:59 pm PT. Meanwhile, no scripted TV series are shooting on location in Los Angeles due to the ongoing Writers Guild strike, according to data compiled by FilmLA, the city and county film permit office. "In a normal week at this time of year, there would be dozens of scripted television projects in production," FilmLA said Wednesday of the week ending July 2. "By contrast, we have no scripted TV series with permits to film this week."

If the rise of Aysedeniz Gockin is true, then that's because she's been busy the last month or so cranking out videos and touring the EU nations, but one surprise announcement came and it got us all excited.

I would love to go but......can't. Obviously it be cool but it's just a case of FOMO in me. If she EVER comes to either Memphis or Bartlett, I'll be there and willing to be there. Phone camera for highlights and all as long as the ticket prices aren't high as $100. Heck, The BPACC, that's Bartlett Performing Arts and Conference Center for you homegrown folks out there wold be around the $15-$45 range. If she plays at the Orpheum downtown, i'd say around $20-$50. The Cannon Center? Well, it would have to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $25-$100. Only if you count a meet and greet plus autographs and CD copies and things like that. I might be working on a GoFundMe to help bring her to Memphis, Tn, but for know it'll be me in the skybox where Fan Appreciation Day happens that same weekend as the Pacific Bay Pirahnas fight off against the Raccoon City Stars nearing the end of the season for a playoff spot. They look real good after this past weekend's rain shortened win.

The success-is-the-best-revenge tour continues for Ariana Madix: She's going to compete on Dancing with the Stars now. The Vanderpump Rules star will don the sequins and Danskins this fall when the show returns to ABC for its 32nd season.

News of her casting was announced this morning on Good Morning America.

The rest of the competitors will be revealed in the fall.

Madix became a household name this year — at least for those who glue themselves to Bravo shows — when her Vanderpump Rules ex-boyfriend Tom Sandoval of nearly 10 years hooked up with her friend Raquel Leviss. Season 10 of Vanderpump Rules had just started airing at the start of the year when news of the "Scandoval" blew up on social media.

Vanna White is looking to up her net worth. According to TMZ, the 66-year-old TV personality is currently in the middle of renegotiating her Wheel of Fortune contract following news that host Pat Sajak is retiring.

After a report over the weekend claimed that White had not received a pay raise in 18 years, TMZ is now reporting that White is threatening to walk if she does not get at least half of what Sajak is making.

It was previously reported by Puck that White was earning $3 million a year for her role on Wheel of Fortune, and Sajak was bringing in five times as much. Sajak is currently making $15 million a year, according to TMZ.

The 76-year-old host announced earlier this month that he will be retiring from the hit game show after season 41. Sajak has served as host of Wheel of Fortune since 1981, when he took over the position from Chuck Woolery. White has been part of the program since 1982.

TMZ also reports that Sony is not on board with White's demands, calling the negotiations "very difficult." A source also tells the outlet that White feels a higher calling to speak out, saying, "She feels like it's a statement for all women."

Reps at Sony Pictures Television declined to comment.

All3Media International has announced the launch of a new app for the game show "Catchphrase," as it continues to build on the off-screen activation of its entertainment brands.

A hit prime-time game show format created by Pasetta Productions and Steven Radosh, "Catchphrase" continues to prove its evergreen credentials with this mobile game, in addition to the recent launch of a board game and card game based on the show. The app allows players to test their skills and identify familiar catchphrases straight from the ITV/STV show.

Featuring the show's mascot Mr Chips, players are presented with challenges to complete, targets to aim for, and more rewards and prizes.

"'Catchphrase' is one of the most iconic and recognizable brands in All3Media International's catalog and has proved itself a beloved viewer favorite time and time again on screen," says Jane Sharp, vice president, licensing, All3Media International. "I'm thrilled to continue to find fresh ways to reach long-time fans and new players with this brand-new app, as well as the 'Catchphrase' board game and card game."

"Our contestants always have so much fun playing 'Catchphrase' in the studio, so we're delighted that fans of the show can now also play the game at home or on the move with this fantastic app," says Gary Chippington, creative director, entertainment, STV Studios. "All3Media International and Two Way Media have really managed to capture the magic that makes Catchphrase one of the most popular and enduring shows on British TV."

Created in partnership with Two Way Media, the game developer behind the "Lingo" app, the "Catchphrase" app is now available in the U.K. on iOS and Android.

Katie Thurston is venturing outside of Bachelor Nation to find her next love interest.

The former Bachelorette, who led Season 17 of the long-running ABC dating series, is joining the cast of The CW's FBoy Island Season 3. A short teaser released on Monday shows a glimpse at Thurston preparing for a confessional, only to (jokingly) act shocked when she finds out what she's agreed to be a part of.

On FBoy Island, Thurston will be one of three women who are joined by 24 men – 12 self-proclaimed "Nice Guys" looking for love and 12 self-proclaimed "FBoys," there to compete for cold, hard cash.

The women navigate the dating pool together with the hope of finding a lasting love connection. By the finale, all is revealed – who is a Nice Guy, who is an FBoy and who the women ultimately choose. Fboy Island is a social experiment that asks the age-old question: Can FBoys truly reform, or do Nice Guys always finish last?

It's fairly uncommon for Bachelor and Bachelorette alums to venture outside of the ABC franchise for a different reality dating series. Thurston also previously appeared on Season 25 of The Bachelor. She never opted to join Bachelor in Paradise, though several of her contestants did..
