The  Talking Through The Medias opening toss up story.

Pat Sajak is stepping down as the host of Wheel of Fortune after more than four decades.

"Well, the time has come," Sajak said in a statement to Bloomberg News on Monday. "I've decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last. It's been a wonderful ride, and I'll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all."

Sajak has hosted the syndicated game show since its nighttime debut in 1983. He also hosted the daytime edition from 1981 to 1989. Prior to Sajak, Wheel was hosted by Chuck Woolery since the show's premiere in 1975.

Sajak, who was named chairman on the Hillsdale College Board of Trustees in 2019 after former chairman William Brodbeck retired, will serve as the chairman for the Michigan college.

A true television icon, Sajak has thrice won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show Host. He has received 16 additional nominations.

There was a time when Sajak did double duty at the wheel; in the '80s he hosted a daytime version on NBC and a syndicated version in the evening. When the show hit its 36th in 2018, Sajak became the longest-running host of any game show, surpassing The Price Is Right's Bob Barker.

Last year, Sajak was asked during an interview for Entertainment Tonight about when he'd like to leave the show that made him a star. "I'd like to leave before people tune in, look at me and say, 'Ooh, what happened to him?'".

"Years go by fast," he told ET while celebrating Wheel's 40th season in 2022. "We're getting near the end. It's been a long [time]. We're not gonna do this for another 40 years. The end is near. … It's an honor to have been in people's living rooms for that long."

Sajak plans to continue as a consultant for three years after his final season.

A replacement for Sajak was not included in this initial announcement, though plenty of Wheel enthusiasts have already taken to social media to campaign for Vanna White — Sajak's longtime co-host, an expert letter turner and the very picture of glamour — to take over full-time.

White still can't believe she's made it through nearly 41 seasons of "Wheel of Fortune" with her co-host Pat Sajak, who announced Monday that his time on the show is officially coming to an end.

"When we started @WheelofFortune who could have imagined we'd still be at it 41 seasons later?" White wrote on her Twitter on Tuesday, adding "I couldn't be happier to have shared the stage with you for all these years with one more to come."

White concluded her tribute to Sajak by saying, "Cheers to you, @patsajak!"

Online sportsbook Bovada has gambling odds posted on the next Wheel of Fortune host, with Ryan Seacrest the current frontrunner at +200 (2-1).

What a weekend of Cricket it was. We had the Aussies send the UK packing up where they don't belong and had our Pacific Bay Piranhas squeak out the Westview Wingers by about 4 6s in a row after last week's lost on the road by 3 wickets to the Rocketown Astronauts. Many of us thought 2 wickets would take us out, but man, a partnetship from both North Carolina and Virginia put those Wingers back up north. All thanks to this lucky charm to panic the Wingers over.

Fort Boyard and Survivor producer ALP's Alexia Laroche-Joubert and Frédéric Lussato are launching a Banijay-backed scripted label in France.

Screen Line Productions will focus on character-driven content, as the two French vets develop original ideas as well as book adaptations, spanning mainly youth-oriented themes. Banijay said a debut commission will be unveiled soon. As part of the launch, the pair have appointed Lavinia Jullien as Development Executive.

The pair run ALP, which produces some of France's biggest non-scripted shows including Fort Boyard and Koh Lanta (Survivor).

"During my career I have created and adapted many formats from the world of entertainment including Koh Lanta (Survivor) and Star Academy, with the commonality of all being popular formats," said Laroche-Joubert. "With our knowledge of this audience paired with production expertise, Screen Line is geared up to develop ambitious projects for a wide audience."

As Deadline reported in May, Warner Bros. Discovery is undergoing another round of layoffs in its television business and it's starting today.

The layoffs, which were described by insiders as "pockets of refinement" rather than wholesale cuts, are happening in its cable TV business, which includes the Discovery-branded cable networks and Turner networks.

Warner Bros. Discovery operates cable networks including Discovery Channel, TLC, Investigation Discovery, Science Channel and Animal Planet as well as the former Scripps networks such as Food Network and HGTV. It also operates the former Turner-branded networks such as TNT, TBS and truTV.

The division is run by Chairman and Chief Content Officer, US Networks Group Kathleen Finch.

The Challenge is a juggernaut competition show for MTV, and Season 39 is right around the corner. The upcoming season is currently filming, so there are finally new details that have leaked. While there was a fair amount of criticism of The Challenge: Ride or Dies, The Challenge Season 39 has a different twist—one that may be a welcome change.

Ride or Dies saw Tori Deal and Devin Walker secure their first wins, after several seasons competing on the show. The season had an interesting dynamic, but it overall fell flat with viewers. For years, fans have taken to social media to complain about the show being packed with the same old veterans and champions. However, The Challenge Season 39 may prove that MTV is listening to what its viewers have to say.

According to Challenge spoiler expert, Vevmo, the theme of The Challenge Season 39 is "Redemption." Though there were earlier reports that the new season would feature a "New Blood" theme, the actual concept is a little different. As part of the Redemption theme, the cast will consist of competitors who have been on the show before, but only for a few seasons, without winning.

Presumably, the term, Redemption, refers to a second chance given to these competitors who feel they have something to prove. It's an interesting concept, and it's not entirely new to the franchise. There have been other seasons that operated as redemption seasons for returning vets, but this new season features a different kind of vet. Many of the cast members for The Challenge Season 39 had frustrating runs on their initial seasons, which may have put a fire under their butts prompting them to return.

Every generation thinks it knows better than the one before -- and contestants will try to prove it on CTV's new quiz show debuting June 19.

Hosted by Canadian comedian and actress Lilly Singh, Battle of the Generations pits four people representing a different generation -- baby boomer, generation X, millennial and gen Z -- against each other as they answer trivia questions about their own era and those of their rivals in a bid to win up to $25,000 (almost $19,000 US)

"Hosting a game show is one of the coolest things you can do -- I think it's an immediate instant flex," Singh said in a recent interview.

And we go to a Mistplay Game Break. ID this old school game by its screenshot.

I know it doesn't have a scoreboard and all but it's been more widely known for its animation. So think it over and we'll have Jessica Magoch go to the Spotify Soundstage to play this new track. We like it. Her mom likes it. Even a postman up in the Netherlands likes it. Ready? Go.

That song is cool. She may like board games, but she can probably like video games all thanks to this answer......

40 years ago, Don Bluth wanted an interactive laserdisc game and it became an instant classic of video game history.

And our final story: MLB experimented with a pitch clock but a jazz club out in Jacksonville had to experiment with a solo clock. Here's how that works. Each musician in turn depending on the members have 2:30 to make up notes on the spot before the clock expires. Once that clock expires........

 Thunderclap

Time's up for that. It's.............

90 seconds to talk about Ryan Seacrest as a possible Wheel replacement  starting from.......

Earlier the vegas oddsmakers got Ryan Seacrest to replace Pat Sajak as the host of Wheel. I mean, come on. He has had a track record of hosting Kids game shows on Syndicated and cable back in the 90s, took the leap to the network stage with American Idol in 2002, became more well known due to the idol boom, replaced the late Casey Kasem on American Top 40, had his own show out on Hollywood and Highland which wasn't that bad for myself, produced the Kardashians for many years, took the role of Regis Philbin alongside Kelly Ripa and on it goes. But Ryan could be good looking given those credentials. He's been in radio before be jumped into TV as a yound boy so he could be the one in the daytime game show arena since he's no stranger to both sides of the daytime/primetime TV fences. If Ryan doesn't get the job, there is one name that stretches out inthe back of my mind and needs a comeback with these 2 words.............................David Sidoni. And 2 more words to replace Vanna: Cyber Lucy.
