The  Talking Through The Medias opening toss up story.

Lionsgate's Debmar-Mercury has picked up for distribution Game Show Network's People Puzzler, hosted by Leah Remini, with the goal to launch the game show in broadcast syndication in fall 2023.

Debmar-Mercury is shopping 325 episodes of People Puzzler, which combines pop culture with fun facts, as a back-to-back Monday-Friday strip. It will be sold on an all-barter basis, with the syndicator splitting the national advertising time with stations. The 325 episodes include all of Seasons 1 and 2, as well the current third season.

This marks a rare broadcast syndication offering for fall 2023 in a tight marketplace with no known first-run shows targeted for next fall yet.

Based on the crossword puzzles in People, People Puzzler, which returned for its third season in August, has been a solid performer for GSN. It is produced by Game Show Enterprises, Start Entertainment and People's parent company, Dotdash Meredith. Remini also executive produces with Rane Laymance, along with Scott St. John and Neal Konstantini for Start Entertainment and Rachel Feinberg for Dotdash Meredith.

"We believe People Puzzler's proven ad-friendly format, strong household and adult 25-54 demo performance will attract an entirely new audience to broadcast, while giving stations a tested alternative to pair with originals in this dominant syndication programming genre," said Debmar-Mercury Co-Presidents Mort Marcus and Ira Bernstein.

The King Of Queens alumna Remini, a two-time Emmy winner and Daytime Emmy nominee for Outstanding Game Show Host, most recently appeared as a judge on So You Think You Can Dance.

Yep, 40 is the new 30 and i'm finally in a new decade in which being old is so boring, so get out and do the things you should've did when you were a kid or a teenager or a young adult. Life is too short to be having a whole of of fun. Now to go spend some birthday plans...............

Nick Cannon is getting some rest after coming down with pneumonia.

"The Masked Singer" host and comedian, who has previously shared that he has lupus, posted images of himself in a hospital bed in an Instagram post on Friday.

"Okay, so I guess I'm not Superman ... I promised myself I would never be back at this place again ... But this is a great lesson to take care of YOU or YOU won't be able to take care of everyone else," Cannon wrote.

The busy dad of 11 said he was feeling positive. "I don't need any well wishes or prayers , just some solid rest and I will be back on the journey to becoming stronger than ever... it's just pneumonia, nothing I can't handle."

Before his hospitalization, Cannon performed with his "Wild'N Out Live" tour on Thursday in New York City. "Crazy thing is, last night we was just rocking a sold out crowd at Madison square garden in front of thousands of fans, now I'm all alone in a tiny hospital room," Cannon concluded his post. "Life is definitely a rollercoaster! #LupusWarrior.".

Featuring 50 teams from across the globe, sparks fly and robots die in the iconic BattleBox arena at Caesars Entertainment Studios as teams vie for the sports top prize: The Giant Nut. Wielding ever more lethal weapons and upgraded hardware, this year's elite bots will face their most grueling test as, for the first time, all teams will complete a predetermined four-fight qualifying season. Also, for the first time, all teams' full fight schedules will be released prior to the start of the World Championship VII qualifying rounds. BattleBot's ever expanding, rabid fanbase can now look forward to more fights, more strategy, and more destruction as season long "live tracking" of results and standings are enabled thru these format changes. The world's premiere robot competition series, "BattleBots," returns Thursday, January 5th at 8PM ET/PT on Discovery Channel.

This year's select field features a host of brilliant new teams with meta breaking designs eagerly attempting to stand shoulder to shoulder with the returning legends of the sport. Will End Game or Tantrum keep their winning streaks alive against the deepest field in BattleBots history or will they end up in pieces? Will Riptide and Glitch extend their epic freshman runs, or will they suffer the dreaded sophomore slump? Sportscaster Chris Rose, and former UFC Fighter Kenny Floria are back to lead the action, giving their famous play-by-play and color analysis, while Faruq Tauheed returns as the Ring Announcer to get everyone in the arena, and at home, into the fighting spirit..

Award-winning global media company, marblemedia along with broadcast partners BYUtv (US) and TVOkids (Canada) announce their premiere dates for season 5 of the high-octane series All-Round Champion. Season 5 is set to air first on BYUtv on Sunday, January 15 at 8p ET/5p PT, followed by TVOkids on Wednesday, February 8 at 5pm ET.

This latest season comes at the heels of the series winning Best Children's or Youth Non-Fiction Program or Series at the 2022 Canadian Screen Awards.

For the first time in All-Round Champion history, Season 5 will feature a cast fully comprised of para-athletes - competitors with physical disabilities. However, true to the format, they won't be competing in their own sports; they'll be competing in each other's to see how proficient they can become in a new sport in a short period of time. To reach this goal, they must excel beyond their own expectations. They must learn new skills, persevere, overcome their own physical and mental limits, and most importantly, adapt their abilities to the sport and the sports' equipment. The athlete with the most points at the end of the season will be crowned the All-Round Champion!

The talented athletes and their sports this season are Brayden Butler (Climbing), Bradley Pedrick (Sailing), Dominic Demaio (Rowing), Gurnoor Chouhan (Goalball), Jackson Atwood (Wheelchair Basketball), Lily Brook (Adaptive Boxing), Maggie Manning (Sledge Hockey), Momo Sutton (Swimming), and Samantha Fraser (Track).

The 10-episode, 60-minute series is hosted by Olympian and World Champion Perdita Felicien, who brings mentorship to the young athletes, along with weekly sports stars that coach and encourage the participants through their respective sports. For this fifth season, some of the sports stars include Britain's most successful Paralympic sailor, Helena Lucas; four-time Paralympic swimming gold medalist, McKenzie Coan; 31-time Canadian track champion, Josh Cassidy; and Matt Scott, a two-time Paralympic champion in wheelchair basketball and the first disabled athlete featured in a Nike commercial

HBO Max is saying F-bye to FBoy Island: The Nikki Glaser-hosted dating show has been cancelled by the streamer after two seasons, our sister site Variety reports.

The tongue-in-cheek reality series created by The Bachelor producer Elan Gale saw three women choose from a field of potential mates in a tropical locale, with the men secretly divided between "Fboys" who were superficial and commitment-phobic and "nice guys" who were ready for an adult relationship. (When "Fboys" were eliminated, they were condemned to a sparse, Survivor-like shelter, while eliminated "nice guys" were given luxury accommodations and lavish meals.) Glaser hosted and added lots of snarky one-liners to the proceedings, including the immortal kiss-off line: "Fboy? F-bye."

The cancellation is the latest HBO Max casualty since the Warner Bros. Discovery merger, joining original series Made for Love, Raised by Wolves and Gordita Chronicles and the Batgirl movie. As Variety points out, no unscripted HBO Max series has been renewed since the merger.

But we're not saying goodbye just yet. Here's a segment that helps keeps the bills paid in the studio.......

Buzz-GSN where we ask you guys on the Game Show Network Facebook page anything and everything.

https://youtu.be/uxhY1Yg-9sU

Alfred Pennyworth will begin.

Just saw an episode of Masterminds a day or two (not sure how old) where Brooke Burns and the "smart" player pronounced Qatar as "CUTTER" but the actual player, some guy, pronounced it as "Kuh-tarr". Well, he was correct and all of these so-called super-smart people got it wrong and seemed to have "corrected" him when Brooke stated his answer wrong.

We did check and it was Kuh-Tarr. So it counts as a correct. Here's Michelle Parkman.

You must not think anybody watches the network on the weekend! Well I was, until you really destroyed the schedule, so I guess you achieved your goal.

She must've ruined the day, didn't she? On to Caroline Diabeti.

I have so enjoyed watching the vintage game shows this week. Back when contestants actually tried to look nice and dress appropriately for TV, But mainly watching games where the shows didn't try to "OUT VULGAR' each other like the shameful current Family Feud and %100,000 Pyramid.

Ah, you like it too. Nice. We go now to Oren Spengler.

My family and I are disappointed that Match Game has been removed from the Monday through Friday schedule from 1:00 to 2:00 p. m. I hope it will return to the lineup soon. I also miss "Black and white Sunday nights", which it seems are gone forever. Thank you for your consideration.

Relax. It's just the holiday weeks before it returns again. We move on to Tim Valik.

The classic game shows being played NEED to stay on! What a refreshing day watching these great shows! This is what GSN awesome back in the day. Don't get me wrong I love America Says, and People Puzzler, but early morning, and early afternoon can be classic game shows.

Yep. And they need to throughout the holidays and the winter season. Steve Schimmel will get the caboose for this segment.

i am so upset that you took off MATCH GAME. one of the best shows you had. I used to watch it with breakfast back 10 plus years ago. then you moved it to mid day so i scheduled my lunch around it. the only reason i watched DEAL OR NO DEAL is so that i would not miss MATCH GAME... and then GSN would just stay on for the afternoon. NOW there is no reason to turn it on in the first place. CARD SHARKS and PRESS YOUR LUCK are nothing but a bunch of loud screaming people with horrible sound effects. Kills my ears. I do not need to listen to 24 minutes of screaming. i will not be watching those shows. Plus there is little intelligence needed to play and no humor or wit included at all. MATCH GAME has such wonderful respectful humor, with great writers and innuendos, without being vulgar or crass like so many other shows today. Your new replacement shows just require ability to SCREAM at the top of ones lungs. NOT FOR ME. you have lost a loyal long time viewer (since at least 2006 when i found Match Game in the morning). Thank goodness i just ordered a new FIRE tv so i can stream the worthy shows and avoid your channel from here on in. It was good run, BUT GSN, you are now off my radar. i guess my veiwership will be replaced with someone who does not need good, respectful whit and humor, who does not posses a modecum or intelligence and respect, and gets off on YELLING AND SCREAMING. my spot will be readily replaced and you will not even notice i am gone... goodbye!

I mean, come on, Match Game isn't going anywhere, and in fact it's on Buzzr all the time, but they're just classiuc game shows we all remember so........deal with it.

Time for a Mistplay Game Break. One of my favorite games we've done on this here blog is getting to be a real treat. It is......Fix The Mistake!!!!!
